Great burgers and great place for happy hour. Nice place to unwind after work.
The food was good, and service was friendly and efficient.
We went for the Free Burger made reservations ahead of time.
We were seated quickly; waitress was super nice & food was perfect.
Thanks for the Promotion "free" is always a plus. Also, no gimmicks Just wonderful Food & Service.
Burgers weren’t as good as they were last year (different location)
My waitress was amazing!!!!!!!!
Actually we cancelled our reservation at the Arts District Umami and went to the Broadway LADT one. Closer driving. We had a great time. I had wanted to eat an Umami burger since the first raves a decade or so ago. Well, finally. The place was hi/cool; we were the oldest people in there by about 50 years. We went for Happy Hour which is a really good value, and had a great cocktail by the name of Broken Branch. We also had the HH tempura asparagus--delicious. We chose a Throwback Umami burger and liked it, plus the price was right. Our server Cristian was very helpful to us as we attempted to select a cocktail and a burger ! I wish we had a Umami burger in San Diego.
The food is okay, definitely overpriced for what you get. Meat is unseasoned and they try to compensate by going heavy on sauce.
Our female server was not pleasant at all. She was extremely unhappy and did not hand us a dineLA menu nor mentioned it.
We went to Umami burger for Dine LA and couldn't have asked for better service or food.
I questioned the choice of the POKE Caesar and when it arrived at table it looked as if it was not enough POKE. It turned out to be one of the BEST salads I have ever had and I have had plenty. The AHI Tuna was sushi quality, fresh, and just the right amount. I ordered a glass of house white and the Pinot Grigio was delicious. I called my girlfriend to tell her we had to come back and have the salad again..over & over again!
Great food apps were really good people were friendly clean will definitely reccomend
I loved the food but I didn’t like the restaurant over all. It’s not cozy, the chairs are uncomfortable and it’s a little loud. Next time I’ll order take out and eat at home 😊.
Kool place burger was good not great, if it were not for dine la special me meal for 1 could have been pricier
Very tasty food
Artsy. Nice service. They did not have artificial sweeteners so they ran out to borrow from the neighbor to make my husband happy with his tea. That impressed me.
The truffle burger with a regular fry is my every other Thursday guilty pleasure.
Loved the vegan options
Cold food and bad service. Burger was also overcooked. Would not go back.
Can't go wrong at Umami Burger. Fast, friendly, casual.
Absolutely delicious! The Impossible Burgers were to die for. Fries, dipping sauces, pickled plate, brussels.. wine. If I co hi od give more stars I would.
We came to Umami for a birthday celebration. A "Burger Joint" during the lunch work hour. We were pleasantly surprised. The Burgers were REALLY good, definitely better than expected. Service was good, 1 order came back wrong but not a biggie. Definitely will visit again.
We have been to all umami's except LAX and this was horrible. Waitress brought my wine in dripping wet goblet. Food was warm at best.
Great place, friendly people , Great atmosphere ,Awesome food!!!!!!
They were able to accommodate my reservation of 8 comfortably. Food was brought out promptly and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. I will definitely return to this location.
I am from Las Vegas and is sometimes afraid of trying new things. I went on a trip to Downtown LA and google the best restaurants in the downtown area. I found Umami burger. Ordered a cali burger, my husband ordered the chicken sandwich, we both had the truffle fries and we loved it. Everything was great. A diamond in the rough! I will be going back!
Umami Burger has delicious burgers - I definitely feel satisfied every time I go with all of that “umami” flavoring.
I find it out that they always provide a small bowl of pickles for your table, although I find them oddly satisfying to take bites of in between burger bites. I also loved the sauces here! They brought out four different sauces, displayed on those fat ramen-styled spoons, so it was a bit impractical, but the sauces themselves were delicious.
That sort of sums up this place. A lot of impractical elements to it, but strangely they work and the food is absolutely wonderful. The burgers are pricey, but very filling, and of course, delicious.
I love the fries and ketchup here is well! It’s some sort of unique ketchup that I’ve never had anywhere else before, but I love it!
A lot of pluses to this place, despite some of its weird elements! I wouldn’t mind going from time to time!
Great variety of burgers. Thick but not stupidly high servings. The Impossible burger is pretty darn close to beef. Brussels sprouts and tater tots are amazing. Good selection of beer. Easily handled our reservation for 7 on a holiday Saturday night. Easy street parking.
Had a good night with my girlfriend on her Birthday! Very friendly and thoughtful staff.
Decent dining experience. This establishment was happy enough to prepare my order as I directed. Don't be afraid to ask to have your food prepared to your specifics. Servers were polite and efficient. Chose to eat at Umami Burger because they are the closest restaurant to my home serving the 'Impossible Burger' (IB). Using the science of availability to create the (IB) has resulted in a meat product with out the use of meat. Pretty cool, actually. I believe that meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans will agree on the IB's consumability. As served, the IB looks like a mini hamburger. Tasty but sized for a small child. I'm sure the folks behind IB's marketing will eventually be offering an 'adult' size burger.
Everything was amazing! I ordered the Umami and it was very delicious. They also had a Happy Hour from 3-6, just made it on time for $3 truffle fries and $4 beers. Gotta Love me a good deal!
Great burgers and excellent service. Very good experience.
Impossible burger was surprisingly very tasty! Bottom of truffle fries where the sauce pooled was very bitter, while the service from the hostess and the waitresses were salty & annoying. The older man (I think the manager) was much more attentive and nice, his staff should take notes. Not sure why OpenTable asks what the occasion as they did not do anything special, congratulate, or even give satisfactory service for it.
A good concept and a very good meal. I will be back!
Was looking for a decent place to type with food that didn't cost an arm and a leg. Ended up at Umami after leaving an overpriced coffee place around the corner that had uncomfortable chairs. I was able to sit comfortably at Umami after enjoying my sliders and sweet potato fries. Would go back again.
Was visiting from Canada and this was a pilgrimage to try the Impossible Burger, which was superb! Keep up the great work, this is important, and it's the future!
I waited for over 15 minutes just to have some one speak to me about my reservation.
Drinks and food took for ever. No one checked up on us.
When we finally waved some one down for the check she brought it and placed it on the furthest point of the table.
Last but not least the food was bland and not close to their other locations.
The most tasteful burger I have ever tried!
Terrible communication - we had a reservation for 26 people -( I had one for 12 and my sister had one for 14 people) -at 7:15 pm. At 7:05 the restaurant called us and said they could not accommodate us due to flooding on the patio. 26 PEOPLE!!!!! HALF WERE HUNGRY KIDS!!!
They should have called us HOURS prior. We were stuck dividing up and waiting at different restaurants...
REALLY DISAPPOINTING.
Nettes Restaurant, gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Sehr gute Burger. Kann ohne Bedenken weiterempfohlen werden.
