Very kind service
Excellent and original food
My only regret is the total lack of answer or consideration for our 10y wedding anniversary we were celebrating with them even after contacting them by mail twice...
The setting is absolutely beautiful. The menu is geared primarily to seafood but has a few items for those that don’t like sushi or fish. The food was good. The portions ample. The waiter was busy and wasn’t as attentive as I would have liked. The bus boy worked very hard. It’s pricey, but then again it’s the four seasons.
I would dine again, however it’s definitely not the best meal I’ve ever had. You’re paying for the ambiance, which is lovely.
Loved it! Service was very professional,
And I enjoyed the ambiance very quite ocean view perfect setting! Not to mention the food was excellent, hamachi carpaccio, smoked octopus and butterfish Campachi is a must try well worth it....
This is an awesome place to come for special occasions. The restaurant is right on the ocean and the views are just incredible especially at sunset. We can’t say enough about the service and the food. Everything was perfect and absolutely delicious! We love this restaurant!
Very good all around
Brent was an amazing and knowledgeable server!!❤️
Oh my gosh. It was so perfect. We had been to Four Seasons probly 20 years ago with our middle-school age children and we all remember it as our first truly fine dining experience, complete with waiters lifting silver lids off our food. Much had changed in that time and all for the better. While we ate inside a dining room, the restaurant now is all about the water and the view, as it should be. The view was divine, the food excellent, the service perfect, and setting up a spot light just off the patio to take pictures against the sunset was so smart. We finished with the chocolate soufflé, just as we did 20 years ago, and we told our kids we’re bringing the whole family back for our fiftieth wedding anniversary in four years. Thank you for a lovely experience for our last night on the island.
Expected better service and better food from the four seasons. Not staffed properly and the sushi was not very good.
Wonderful setting for dinner while watching the beautiful sunset. We ordered various sushi rolls, table-side prepared poke, and other appetizers. The spicy ahi roll had a sweet taste that took away from the overall roll. My wife felt like the poke that we get fresh at our local market was tastier, even though the table-side prep was a nice touch. The clear highlight of the evening was the chocolate soufflé for dessert.
The best diner we had while on the big island. Definitely coming back!
Incredible food, service and ocean view. Unbeatable in Kona!
We had a wonderful experience at Ulu celebrating our wedding anniversary! From the time we arrived we were treated as top notch guests and we weren’t even staying at the resort. The bell man, hostess, bartender and waiter were over the top in taking care of us. We will definitely return the next time we are in Hawaii. 🌴🌸🌞
Everything was top notch, from the food and drinks to the service. Excellent job all around!
This is our 2nd time here and it is amazing! The setting is spectacular, the food delicious and the service outstanding. If you have a special occasion, please give it a try. Just close your eyes and insert credit card when you get the bill😃
I went to Ulu for my girlfriend’s birthday while visiting Hawaii for a week. The experience was a must. Our waiter was top of the line and knew exactly the time and place to stand for our best picture for the whole trip. The food was phenomenal. I got a steak with a pepper jam on top that was to die for.
Our only issue was that we received a bill for $70 more than we spent as the bartender added it to our bill despite not ordering drinks. It was an honest mistake and our excellent waiter handled it for us. While this was a slight inconvenience, the experience as a whole justified the higher prices. When I go back to Hawaii I will definitely eat stopping by again.
Amazing sunset, your table is basically on the beach. Expensive, but you get what you pay for.
One of the best and most beautiful restaurants on the Island. Truly a wonderful dining experience.
The best meal and scenery I’ve ever experienced and a wonderful way to celebrate a honeymoon!
The beauty of this location might be enough to make for a wonderful evening BUT the food, service (Steve and Pauline) made it a very very special experience. Delicious cocktails transitioned to a delicious chilled sake and a starter of yummy oysters. I selected spicy ahi, a salmon roll and an incredibly good unagi roll as our main choices. Each was beautifully presented and larger than expected. 6 slices but stuffed and smothered with the best and freshest ingredients. To top dinner off, we sampled fatty tuna and a pink snapper that I’d never had before. These were nigiri style and simply “melt in your mouth” tender and delicious. A bit of insanity set in and we ordered dessert soufflés (one banana and one chocolate) and both were absolutely incredible. This Four Seasons jewel is certainly one of the best restaurants in the islands and maybe up in my top 5 all time for overall quality in every way. Planning to return before we leave the island.
One of the most beautiful places you could ever see with amazing food as well.
Impossible to beat.
Amazing experience. Great food, Great view, and we were able to walk along the beach afterwards. Will definitely go back again.
Great dining experience and view of the ocean/beach!
Nice to be back, visiting from Maui. Amazing setting: my 5,000 Facebook friends are envious of our photo-ops: beachfront table at sunset. Torch-lighter passed by our table. Excellent friendly service by experienced veteran server team of Dan and June. Very relaxed yet elegant. A dozen home-raised oysters with Hawaiian chili water would have been even better served chilled on ice. Charred octopus. Hamachi Carpaccio great dressing and fresh herbs/flowers and Kona Kampachi crudo, too--complemented each other. Kauai shrimp dumplings heavenly light.
Food was fantastic and excellent service. The server timed everything perfectly from apps to Desert
We celebrated our anniversary with our dinner here 9/11, the restaurant was understanding about our late (20 minute) arrival and we were seated immediately upon arrival. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and helped make our special occasion even more special. The food was overall excellent, and delivered promptly! The restaurant provided a complimentary dessert which was an unexpected bonus and delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and our waitress (Lilibeth) and her assistant were very attentive and helpful. Our only suggestion is that the prices are slightly high.
Thank you for a wonderful dinner and for helping us create a great memory!
'Ulu was amazing on all fronts. We dined here for our first anniversary and it did not disappoint. Food was delicious, service was second to none, and the view of the sunset over the ocean was spectacular. Also had the best Mai Thai I've ever tasted. We could not have had a better experience.
Went for our 2nd wedding anniversary! Did not disappoint, I see some people on here have complained about the price, HELLO?! This is the FOURSEASONS, not reccommended for those on a budget. If you are looking to enjoy fabulous food, drinks and 5 star service/ambiance...be ready to pony up the $$$. Our reservation was for sunset. We arrived early to have cocktails at the beach tree bar, they serve complimentary nuts and olives and there was live music. Short walk to Ulu where we had a table with a view of the ocean. Enjoyed a few rounds of cocktails which were yummy. For appetizers the pork buns and shrimp dumplings, mmmm sooo good. Main courses were just as good, I had the sea bass, my husbamd had the steak, answer ordered the delictable mushroom fried rice. Then came dessert: a Kona coffee souffle, with a side Kona coffee ice cream. They even created an edible decoration that said "happy anniversary". Over super impressed and would definitely return. Also, capture a photo at sunset under the spot light on the beach. Makes for a great photo. All the guest were having their servers get a snap of them.
From start to finish has an amazing dining experience at Ulu Grill! The ulu bread was so good! The oysters were divine and the mahi mahi romesco was outstanding! Server was awesome too!
Celebrating family! Sat outside under the stars with the sound of waves breaking against the shoreline in the background! Simply beautiful! Great service, great food and excellent time with my husband, adult children and grand babies! Mahalo Ke Akua!
Great food and ambiance right on the ocean! Pricey, but, worth it!
One of the best dining service experiences we’ve ever had. If I could give more than 5 stars for the service we received I would. It was pouring rain when we arrived and with 50% of the restaurants seating outside, it mad things quite busy. Even with all that, they managed to seat us right on time and the busyness didn’t disrupt the timing of the food either. It was impressive to watch the staff handle a very difficult situation and some customer’s lofty expectations. Our server Mele was amazing and even though she had plenty of tables, she treated us like we were the only ones in the place. The food was fantastic and we highly recommend while on the big island.
Venue and service sets it apart. Great for splurge or special occasion dining.
The food and service were incredible. I only had a few bites of my meal so I asked for it to go, but they forgot to give it to me. I remembered to ask while we were having desert but our server wasn’t near by and of course I forgot once again. I called them the next day just to let them know so it doesn’t happen to others, but they said they couldn’t even find our reservation which was strange to me. We booked weeks in advance and when we showed up, we gave them our name and so they had it the day of. Overall, it was a really good experience, but I was disappointed that I didn’t get a chance to finish my (expensive) meal.
The food is good and the portions are generous. However, the markup on any alcohol, including the wine selection, is ridiculous. It’s the largest we have experienced in any place worldwide. We were very familiar with the options provided. Shame since the ambience can’t be beat with such a lovely view. Still, with so many options in the area with an equally stunning views and well prepared (+)food, unless you are trapped at the resort we would recommend you choose those given that observation. It would be nice to see resort management practice a more fair markup as do the other resorts in the area.
