Located at Notting Hill Gate, ULI offers a fresh, honest approach to Asian cuisine. Natural limed oak, soft tones of blue and contemporary art give the restaurant a clean and informal look, highlighted by a hanging garden of pendant lights. Our menu encompasses carefully selected dishes from Asia, all prepared using traditional Chinese, Thai, Malay and Singaporean disciplines. We believe that Asian food should be clean, fresh and healthy, and that each dish should always be made from scratch.
Originally established on the All Saints Road in 1997, ULI became a firm favourite among locals and critics alike. At its new home ULI serves lunch and dinner all week as well as an extensive range of snacks, cocktails and beverages.
noodle, cucumber, mint and coriander salad
with back bean, chilli and ginger
I enjoyed our visit, The setting was relaxed, both indoor and outdoor, full of people and had a good vibe. The service was great, but the cooking was moderately good at best, for the price paid. They need to cook with a little more flair & zing!!
Food was bland. Dumplings tasted of nothing, we were served a plate of grey vegetables and the scallops were soggy and inedible. I would expect better at any price level but particularly at £100 for a two person dinner.
Neighbourhood restaurant - decent food and service
Terrace is very vibrant
Food is mixed some stand out dishes like the noodles some less so like the calamari
The food was fabulous, full of flavour, and the waiters were very lovely. I definitely recommend this place.
Very expensive for what it is worth! Food was good but can be found cheaper elsewhere for a similar quality
The starters came with the mains at the same time.
2 out of 3 dishes came with a hair inside. Never coming back.
Loved the food, and specially the duck and spring rolls. The sweet and sour chicken is also good. I’d skip the mixed Chinese vegetables next time (too watery and not very flavorful).
Service was good; ambiance is excellent. Try to sit in the covered terrace if you can.
Unfortunately 3 of the orders were incorrect.
The crispy squid was tough and chewy.
The tofu was overly sweet, all the noodles contained egg, but they did manage to make one without.
I had stated it was for my mums 60th birthday but there was no acknowledgment of the fact, so it certainly didn’t feel like a celebration meal.
We were seated by the door so we were constantly interrupted by a string of delivery drivers.
As asian, can feel some dishes are just reheated, the recipe is not authentic.
Lovely food and atmosphere. Attentive staff, couldn’t fault the evening at all.
The food was terrible, the seating staff even worse. Denied us outside seating when the majority of the tables were empty and apparently reserved. We finished our meals and left before these said reserved tables were fully occupied.
Just the 1 waitress was good, for which this deserves the 1 star. Without her it would be zero.
Very nice environment, great seating area. Food and service were ok.
Amazing food - love the location! Staff were a bit eager to take away plates when they weren't finished but otherwise faultless - thank you!
A brilliant little gem! Came for lunch with family. Food was amazing, really lovely music felt like I was on holiday. Will be revisiting as the staff were polite and service was very good
Very good food
This place is a hidden gem! Get yourself there ASAP
Great experience, from being shown to the table to the end of the meal. Very good service friendly staff with amazing food. Would highly recommend.
As well vet a great evening. We were well looked after by the staff and the food was great. The good thing is the portions are just the right size and you aren’t overburdened.
Very good location and venue…………Very friendly and welcoming staff.
All excellent as usual however some of the guests at the table next to us were excessively loud, making it impossible for us to sustain a conversation and enjoy ourselves... it is time establishments start approaching dinners who don't know how to behave in a restaurant! Gonto the pub next time!!
Food and service was really good but the noise at the restaurant was way too loud, everyone was shouting and it was difficult to hear people at the same table. Close to having a headache by the end of the meal, totally ruins the experience
Food was great.
A bit pricey but not too pricey....London I guess.
I have always liked Uli, and was happy to be back for a meal now that it's fully opened up. The food was not quite as good as usual (still good though!), but the service was delightful and our whole evening was thoroughly enjoyable.
I have been to Uli on several occasions in the past but I am afraid that based on this evening, will be more selective on choosing the right dishes. To pay for a salad for £15 with only 2 prawns advertised as prawn and avocado salad is frankly a joke. I was with a friend at the time and did not want to say anything. Not once was asked how meal was and to pay a service charge as if it is expected these days is not my idea of fairness. Best to go for a curry which they are good at.
Return to Uli after a few years and it seems Michael's original touch in creating an intimate and delicious restaurant, has lost its spark,;maybe as he is not as present himself in this larger venue?
10/10 highly recommend
Wonderful place, wonderful team, really great food. The staff is also very kind and helpful with kids :) will definitely go back!
Food is very average, and I would almost go so far as to say its poor quality for prime Notting Hill and what you pay. I don’t think anything is freshly cooked
Beautiful food , we have it out on the terrace which was lovely will definitely be going baby xx
One of my favourite finds! The best pan Asian in london
Amazing evening. Sitting Outside is much nicer and vibrant
Food is delicious, we really enjoyed our meal - starters were asparagus and black bean and the the ribs ...The mains were the crispy duck and the massaman curry. Good portion sizes and Yum!! However the service needs improving, we went at lunchtime and there were 2 members of staff that need interpersonal skills !!!! As it got busy it was hard to get their attention. I had put down that it was my husbands birthday but nothing special was done !
Good menu with clever choices. An easy and friendly atmosphere
Amazing food, slightly pricey for what it was but that’s to be expected in the area. The terrace is not as the pictures but it is still ambient.
Service was great but the added gratuity irks me. I’d rather have put my own amount.
Great food, well decorated and friendly staff. Slightly noisy when full.
Super food, great service, lovely vibe.
The tables barely had any space between them, let alone enough to be socially distanced. It was incredibly tight which was not only uncomfortable but nerve wracking given current circumstances. Although the food was nice, the constant hovering from staff to hurry us was frustrating - they were adding tables to our seating 30 mins before our booking was up.
Great food and great settings one of my fav places to dine in London!
