Ulana - Ritz Carlton Kapalua
We were disappointed that there wasn’t a carving station.
Ate the breakfast buffet. It was delicious! Smoked salmon. Eggs Benedict. Mini waffles. Assortment of pastries. Shrimp and noodles. To top it off they gave us a birthday dessert tray for free. Excellent breakfast event.
Delicious breakfast buffet! Nice selection of hot stations, omelet station, fresh fruits, cereals, and more!
Ulana (previously The Terrace restaurant) is a great place for breakfast with a choice of a $42 buffet (plus $35 if you want Mimosas) and an al a carte menu with $34 eggs and $25 pancakes. The food is pricey, but it is perfectly prepared and served with charm. Although we would not eat here every day while on a vacation because of the expense, we do make a point of eating here at least once while we are in Maui because it is such a pleasant experience overall. We prefer to order off the al a carte menu rather than the buffet, simply because we prefer food cooked to order, although at this restaurant the buffet presentation is beautiful and tempting.
The breakfast buffet is my favorite place to eat at The Ritz Carlton! The coffee served is amazing, and the bacon quiche is one of my favorite dishes. I love the feel of the menus, which gives you the ambience that you are reading the paper at your breakfast table. Overlooking the Ritz-Carlton property, the view is fabulous!
Food is fine, some even good - quality of food good. However, Lack of variety in daily breakfast buffet. Service is lackluster – very scattered and disorganized. Loud. Witnessed another guest bringing in their own used to go container in a beach bag dumpling plates of food into it under the table. Lack of attention from severs - bizarre.
Father’s Day. Made reservation but waited for 1/2 an hour for a table. When we finally got seated, certain dish chafing was empty. No signs such as omelette/pancake/waffles station. Coffee was warm. Coconut Syrup was empty. However the little I got from the syrup, the waffles were awesome when I finally found the station. Thought I had to wait for my waffles because everyone was standing around. I later found out that it was the omelette station they were waiting for. They were standing around the waffle/pancake area so didn’t see that until I went up the 2nd time and no one was waiting for their omelette. I’m a local and traveled all the way from upcountry to try out the buffet. Would try it again. Need to give Ritz another chance.
Celebrated husband’s birthday at breakfast
Amazing breakfast and best service ever. Gorgeous view. Pricey but excellent.
Good place for breakfast but skip for other meals.
We are repeat guests at Ulana, the variety and quality of the food offered is plentiful & delicious. We always have enjoyed our dining experience at Ulana’s and the service is always courteous & efficient.
Honeymoon and babymoon
We thought we made reservations at the Easter Brunch through Open Table. Food at Ulana was very poor. Maybe on a regular brunch Ulana is good; but not this particular day.
A beautiful location! The food was amazing and service outstanding.
Extremely friendly and nice stuff. On our next trip we will definitely try to stay at the Ritz Carlton.
A little pricey of course being at the Ritz but the food was incredible, especially the pastries. Freshly made, my favorites were the mochi donuts and almond croissants
Breakfast buffet style service. Good prepared food selection. Didn’t care for the included gratuity of 18%
for buffet service where no water refill, no removal of completed meal plates before coming back with a new plate of food but they didn’t forget to put the $30.00 tip on the bill.
I wouldn’t really recommend this, it was very overpriced, noisy and the food was mediocre. The waiter was great, however.
Morning after our wedding - we had been gifted a certificate to visit Ulana for an amazing Ritz Carlton experience post- nuptials. When making the reservation we shared in the notes that it was a special occasion and that we had just been married. There was no mention of it, and no congratulations, no acknowledgement of our request to be by the window, despite multiple tables being available. It was not what I expect from a 5 star resort, that’s for sure! We had a great meal regardless - but when you are spending 150 USD on breakfast, you would hope that they would pay attention to the details. In this case, they didn’t.
View is great. Food was good. Buffet style so you eat what you like.
We had the breakfast buffet on Sunday. First the food and the chef at the omelet station were both excellent. Our issue was that we received absolutely NO service. A lady brought us water and coffee after seating and that was the last we saw of anyone. We just went to the buffet since no one took our order. We asked a server at one point for ketchup and he said ok then never brought it. When we were ready to go we had to hunt someone down for our check. This is type of service I would expect at Denny’s not The Ritz!! Terrible.
Deborah (hostess) & Kevin (server) made our Gotcha Day celebration very special. Thank you!
A great Way to start Valentines Day in Maui!
Outstanding Sunday breakfast/brunch! Food was amazing and service 5 star!
The food is overpriced (I don’t care how good it is) and unfortunately I would pay it again for breakfast that good.
Terrific brunch! Will certainly be back!
We were there for my boyfriend's 50th birthday and we ate here for breakfast the morning of our departure. Food was yummy, service was great, and we had a wonderful view. Look forward to coming back to the Ritz again!
Excellent service and a great view. Food was good and a little below my expectations. But overall, it was a laid back enjoy the view kind of breakfast...
