We absolutely recommend Ukiyo! The food was amazing! For an appetizer we have order sushi and it was hands down the best sushi we have ever had. Tonkotsu Ramen was absolutely delicious! We will definitely come back.

We ordered beef nagamaki, chilled noodles and two specialty sushi rolls without rice. Everything was prepared well and tasted good. Our server was very attentive and pleasant. Drinks from the bar were perfect and delivered to the table swiftly. Overall ambience was very nice. We will be back and suggest you give it a try.

The food was delicious and I liked that they had different Japanese food. Not the same kind you could get at any other Japanese restaurant. I got to try the Gyodon. Which was REALLY tasty. The sushi was also good. The place itself had a nice look, low lighting.

The XO Turnips on special were incredible, magma lobster roll was crunchy, sweet, spicy, creamy, perfect bite. Chicken Karaage, more like Chicken Candy, unbelievably tender and crispy with a great twang from the lemon aioli. Pork belly bun was charred with a sweet and savory hoisin sauce that was so flavorful. All items were well prepared, well executed, and incredibly tasty! Great Job!

Overall a great experience. Food was terrific. Special kudos to the sushi chefs as our selection was as good as LA. Buns were delish. Staff were attentive and friendly. Easy to park on the street. It was smart for Ukiyo to move away from Broughton St. as the northern historic district is changing. Definitely would come back.

This was our first time at Ukiyo and we were impressed! The pork belly bao and tonkotsu ramen were some of the best we’ve ever had. Ask for a chili spice bomb if you prefer your ramen with some heat. Plan ahead to find street parking as the neighborhood is up and coming and pretty busy. We would visit again!

I ventured out in Savannah to find an Izakaya-styled place because I wanted something different than the usual tourist-fare in town. Ukiyo seemed like it would scratch the itch. I dined on a Thursday, so there wasn't much of a weekend crowd and it seemed the customer base was primarily comprised of locals. It's an open kitchen concept meaning you see the action from your table--bottlenecks and all. The menu features an assortment of ramen & toppings, small bites, and sushi offerings. I settled on karaage and cucumbers to begin, and a sake from the menu. Interestingly enough, the waiter consistently forgot my sake and I never received it until 30 minutes into service. Karaage was fine, but the cucumbers swim in sauce. The flavor was meh, but maybe that's why the kitchen overloads it sauce. My follow-on from there was nigiri--nothing special. I sat at the noodle bar, and it provided me the opportunity to see the different rolls come out. What I did see leave the kitchen were rolls that were heavy with rice and light on filling. They weren't balanced and that's why I primarily stuck with nigiri. Had to ask twice for soy sauce and bowl. I guess if you have a craving for Japanese-inspired cuisine, then this could answer the mail. You'll watch the servers flop around like an 8th grade football team. They are nice and friendly, but that's it. If you can get through that, then you'll have an ok experience.

Highly recommend Ukiyo. My wife and I had an easy going dinner there on Wednesday night. Food was outstanding! Try the mushrooms - they are just wonderful. We then had ramen - tokatsu and chicken - and both were extremely flavorful. We paired all this with a recommended Funaguchi sake which was very nice. We'll be back!

I saw Ukiyo on Instagram while planning my trip to Savannah. I was so excited toneat here and it absolutely did not disappoint. My entire vacation was kind of a bummer, but Ukiyo was a major highlight. Nick, my server went above and beyond and I can't say enough wonderful things about him! I'm sad this place isn't in my hometown. The tofu bao buns were incredible, the Gruner was a perfect compliment to everything I ate and the Faroe salmon was the best I've ever had. 🤩🤩

The restaurant interior design is beautiful. Unfortunately everything good kind of stopped there. It took nearly 10 minutes after being seated for our server to bring waters or check on us. After we had ordered all our food (which included 2 appetizers, 3 main dishes, and two sides), it all came out to the table at random times. There was no rhyme or reason to the order in which food came out and it meant the entire table was eating their food at different times. The food itself was just okay. Edible, but partially cold and flavor was definitely not up to par for the cost of everything. The music was loud enough we had to raise our voices significantly throughout the time we were inside. Servers were very polite but seemed to be understaffed and hectic. Overall it was extremely disappointing and we won’t be returning, though I hope the restaurant is able to figure out their stuff soon.

Recommended by a friend who lives in the area. Up and coming area in Savannah making parking a challenge. Modern restaurant with open kitchen and attractive decor. Menu choices are very creative and delicious. Our server was very helpful with details about the menu selections. Wine selections are limited, but the server recommendation was very good. Large open dining area was quite busy and loud.

The bar waiter seemed to be more friendly and Courteous to the other customers while repeatedly overlooking me. He only attempted to be nice when it was time for me to pay my bill which he didn’t show to me, he only told me the amount. I left a five dollar tip against my better judgment. If I ever come back to Savannah I won’t sit at the bar again.

The sushi was amazing - gorgeous, fresh and delicious. The chargrilled edamame was full of flavor - my favorite of the night. Easy to miss on the menu, definitely an underdog selection. We’re looking forward to trying the Bao and Ramen next time. Definitely a hidden gem in Savannah. Love the aesthetic and ambiance of the place. Great for date night… even works well for a solo dinner outing. They have a bar placed by the kitchen so you can eat and watch them cook. Service was meh. Our server seemed like she was on autopilot which is fair given she’s busy working Saturday evening. This restaurant focuses on delivery amazing meals in a timely fashion so the “southern charm” hospitality some expect takes a knee. Pricing is what you’d expect, not outrageous but not an every day choice.

This is the second time we've eaten here, and the first was much better. I'm not sure why, but the food just didn't have the "wow" factor that it did before. The menu has expanded, but the items don't justify their price, as they lack that amazingness you expect from better restaurants.

Tried this place for the first time on a Friday night. Made a reservation but arrived early and they were able to seat us. It's a small, quaint place with counter/bar seating as well as tables. Our server was great and didn't rush us. We ordered appetizers first and then we all had different "flavors" of ramen. Everything was delicious!! We will definitely go back to this neighborhood hot spot.

We had another great experience at Ukiyo tonight. The menu has been updated recently. The duck confit with smoked orange was delicious as were the Gyoza. Pork Katsu is always amazing.

We sat at the bar and loved everything we ate! And we ate a lot! Our bartender took care of us, and was extremely nice, sorry I can not remember his name. It was an overall great experience, and we can not wait to go back & try the items we were too full to get to! Kudos to the kitchen staff who are on full display.

We hadn't been able to go to Ukiyo in over a year, but last Sunday's early dinner made us want to move in nextdoor! Every single thing we ordered was an Oh My Goodness treat! We had Pork Belly Bao Bun sliders, Octopus Karaage, Hamachi, Confit Duck, Unagi Bowl, and there were just two of us with no leftovers! The servers helped us navigate the enticing menu and made the evening even better. Our ONLY less than stellar comment would be that it is noisy for older sensibilities. The wonderful hostess had thoughtfully arranged the quietest spot for us, which was still lively enough for the younger, hipper crowd. We will be back soon and often! Thank you for a most memorable, delicious dinner!!
