Ukiah Japanese Smokehouse, helmed by Chef Michael Lewis, is where Japanese Soul Food meets American BBQ. Located on the riverfront in downtown Fort Lauderdale, the restaurant features a large central bar, a beautiful waterfront terrace and wood-fired smoker.

Enjoy dishes like Sliced Hamachi with Serrano and Fresh Herbs, Pork + Shiitake Mushroom Gyoza with black pepper ponzu, Grilled Tiger Prawn with lemon-ginger butter and Smoked Pastrami Short Rib. The full center bar features signature and seasonal cocktails, sake, wine and beer. Happy Hour specials all week will be offered!

We are excited to be part of this year's Dine Out Lauderdale event, showcasing some of Fort Lauderdale's finest restaurants. Chef Michael Lewis and the team have created a special $60 Tasting Menu to showcase some of our favorite dishes, and give you a taste of UKIAH. This rotating menu, will feature dishes such as Crispy Squid salt + black shichimi pepper, Roasted Cauliflower, herb – chili vinaigrette + goats cheese, Sliced Salmon, wasabi soy broth + scallions, Wagyu Skewer, shiso chimichurri, wasabi + sea salt and Crispy Baby Back Ribs with yakiniku. The menu is offered Sunday through Thursday, August 1st - Sept 31st.

We went here to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We chose the tasting menu which was definitely the way to go. We got Sake recommendations that was amazing and we felt so well taken care of all night. We'll for sure be back!

We dined with a large party and The server and his team were very personable and attentive to our needs. The food is so beautifully presented and the flavors are truly decadent but refreshing at the same time. We really enjoyed every aspect of our dining experience and we’d love to go back for several dishes!

Best new restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale. The short rib is amazing, mushroom rice hot pot, rock shrimp, Japanese sweet potato - all unique and delicious!

Great dining experience. We had a fabulous table outside, loved being by the water. Every dish we tried was delicious, including dessert. Reasonable prices, service was on point. Highly recommend!

We are excited to see that Ukiah had expanded to Fort Lauderdale from Asheville, NC. Located on the New River in Downtown Fort Lauderdale, the valet parking was appreciated. We were greeted by friendly and accommodating hostesses and a most professional service staff. The food was spot on in all aspects. The Avocado salad was a perfect combination of the light herbs, house feta, lemon and ginger topped with the crisp leaks. The smoked brisket was off-the-chart wonderful with a huge smoke-ring and the most perfect rich marbling. The brisket was served with a nice array of accompaniments. The smoked baby zucchini's concentrated flavor paired nicely with the Japanese mustard. The manager, Steve was most accommodating to share his smoking knowledge and introduced us to their special rub with salt, black pepper, nori, sesame seeds, yuzi peel, ginger and chili. Great staff, great food, great drink and great time. Congrats Ukiah Fort Lauderdale and we wish you continued success!

What a great experience! The food was outstanding (mushroom bao buns, dumplings and pastrami short rib) and the service was fantastic. The only problem is that it's really loud with nothing to absorb the sound.

This is the BEST new place in FLL! The food and cocktails are top shelf! Great vibe inside. Outside you get the whole river scene - just an awesome place to share an experience with people you like - even better if you are with people you don’t like -at least the food And drink Will be enjoyable!
