En japonés, Uchiko significa "hijo de Uchi", y es el próximo establecimiento del reconocido chef ejecutivo y sushi master Tyson Cole. Situado en el centro de Austin, esta segunda ubicación del prestigioso restaurante Uchi, cuenta con la misma excelencia y ambiente original, además de algunas añadiduras especiales.     I have eaten sushi for nearly 50 years now and probably a dozen countries including quite frequently in Japan. The sushi here is exquisite in traditional Japanese fashion. Japan is inappropriate to dip rice and soy sauce Uchilo does not even serve soy sauce, rather special sauce for each version or no sauce. Do you really get the flavor of the fish. Their rice is also first class and the Japanese will tell you rice is more important than the fish.

    Oh my goodness, this restaurant beyond lives up to the hype. The best part of the experience was our waitress, Elizabeth. I totally understand fine dining servers have a certain standard to meet in general, but holy wow was Elizabeth above and beyond any expectations. She was so warm, so friendly, and so knowledgeable. She could intimately describe every ingredient and aspect of the menu. It was our first time dining here, and I’m a strict vegetarian, but she made sure I had full knowledge of the vegetarian menu and that I wouldn’t leave hungry. My fiancé and I ended up ordering a little more than we could eat, and she very smartly predicted that and didn’t “put in” everything we ordered so once we were full, we could easily cancel the rest of our food. Elizabeth is an absolute gem of this establishment and I wish she could be our server everywhere we go. I would listen to her describe food ingredients at any restaurant in the world. Food wise, just absolutely 10/10. Nothing was bad. Everything was worth it. Just get whatever and you can’t go wrong. Dessert wise… the banana cake absolutely reminded us of New Orleans banana foster (taste wise). Which was a massive hit with us. Fantastic, wonderful, can’t wait to go back.

    The food was amazing! Intimate setting and the waitress was knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations. We will definitely be back! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. 5 Star all the way

    Birthday dinner, first time since the before times (other than a couple of curbsides) and it was simply brilliant. Well done, Dallas (our server) and team.

    Never disappoints - Uchiko is crazy good at providing consistently amazing dishes. The sushi is the star, but do not overlook some of the best creative desserts around. The only vague concern is that the restaurant is a victim of its own success - always packed, difficult to get a table less than 3 weeks out. Which just means “plan ahead” because it’s absolutely worth it.

    Bryan was an exceptional server. Incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and the history of the restaurant, chef and dishes. Very very kind. The restaurant was full but surprisingly not noisy. Well lit. The staff worked liked a well oiled machine- choreographed like a ballet. Super impressed.
