Uchi - Denver
Food and service was great but you can definitively tell its a chain, not a unique restaurant.
Incredible collaboration of flavors that create truly unique dishes
Wonderful addition to Denver dining scene. Interesting and delicious menu, wonderful service, great happy hour value, easy valet parking- the bar has been raised for all Denver restaurants! Everyone I interacted with was pleasant, polite and accommodating- something sadly lacking in many of my recent experiences with Denver "hotspots".
I have to been honest, with all of the hype of this place, and description of dishes on the menu, I was a bit disappointed. Some of the cold tastings were just not as flavorful as described. Some seemed a little off...but it could be my taste preferences. Sake pours wee chintzy compared to other places. Everything was fresh and visually appealing. I am wanting to go back and try again.
PS. Our server was a bit too aggressive with "selling" the menu and trying to get my husband to eat sushi. He was there for the cooked items, while I was there for the sushi. She wouldn't let up on him and made the whole experience uncomfortable.
The food and the service are first-rate --- the menu is filled with creative ideas and everything we had was beautifully prepared --- and we had a great time, so that always adds to the evening --- and it's expensive -- setting the bar on price in Denver --- guess we're a big city in this too
Taylor was an amazing server - every recommendation was on point and we received top-notch service. Great food as well!
One of the best sushi restaurants in Denver. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
The restaurant experience was an utter nightmare. The meal took 2.5 hours and we walked away hungry after spending $175 on two people. This was supposed to be a nice meal for my partner and I, and we ended up across the street at Work and Class. As far as the food: it lacked an understanding of the fundamentals of cooking. For example, their tuna rolls come with a side of mayonnaise and there is not soy sauce readily available on the table for those that want it. Soy sauce is a salt that pairs well with the oiliness of fish (it's culinary 101) and mayonnaise pairs two fats together which doesn't amplify flavor. There was another dish that had a yuzu gelee that was an gelatinous sweet blob that was so cloying I sent the dish back. After I expressed my anger at the amount of time it was taking to make the very simple and very small meal that we were getting, the server, Tyler, tried to "turn things around" by sending us jicama wrapped in lettuce with a side of more mayo. It was disgusting, and there was no other attempt to rectify our experience. I wish I could give this restaurant negative reviews.
Food was good. Definitiely go for HH because the prices for after happy hour are ridiculous.
Every bite was stellar, service was collaborative and impeccable, and our overall experience could not have been better.
While the bartender was awesome, our server seemed highly annoyed at our food allergies and couldn’t have been less friendly. Made us wish we had just stayed and eaten at the bar. The food however was quite good as always. My first time with poor service at this restaurant.
Overall a great evening out
we were running late from the airport and so nervous we’d lose our reservation. staff was understanding and we got seated. my favorite restaurant.
The food and service were amazing. The fish was so fresh. I really enjoyed the different combinations the chef put together, such as the yuzu on the avocado sushi (must try!).
Delicious, creative dishes, for both vegetarians and non. Very memorable meal, with many unique flavor and texture combinations.
Uchi is probably one of the top 5 restaurants I’ve ever been to. We let out waitress Noni choose our dishes and each one was spectacular. The fish was so fresh and the flavors exploded in your mouth. Well worth the price.
The food was fantastic and the space was beautiful. I would highly recommend coming during happy hour to get a taste for the dishes and better understand what might tickle your palate. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. I mentioned on multiple occasions that we were celebrating a very special day but our waiter did not even mention it once.
Great service, awesome food. Everyone who works there is working to make sure you have teh best possible experience.
Very cool setting, love the skylight looking up into the hydroponic garden. At the sushi bar, the chefs are really friendly and helpful. It's a comfortable environment and they are attentive in answering any questions you have and will break down the menu so it's easy to understand and you can start ordering right away - ALL of the food is delicious!!
Second time here, the first being the best meal Ive had in Denver. This time went with the 10 course omakase. Started wonderfully with possibly the best oysters Ive ever eaten and then a couple other quite spectacularly creative and tasty dishes including wonderful fried tofu and excellent wagyu beef dishes. However interspersed with these were several fairly routine sushi dishes including a scallop duo that was a bit bitter. Overall 3/4 of the dishes were fantastic and the others relatively good but typical high end sushi. Cocktails were fairly average and not nearly as good as the food so next time will stick to saki or beer. Crowded but services was thoughtful and attentive.
Amazing food, amazing staff, amazing time every time
Variety of delicious options, friendly service!
Nicole was amazing as our waitress. It was my gf and I first time in and had an amazing experience. We were walked through everything never felt rushed or that we were ignored. Best experience I've had in a long time.
Amazing new restaurant! The food was delicious!
Life changing. One my my favorite restaurants anywhere !
Absolutely fabulous experience at Uchi! My friends and I were a small group celebrating a birthday, and they made the entire evening special. Every plate we ordered was perfectly balanced and delicious. Highly recommend.
My favorite restaurant in Denver for a reason. The food is unique and delicious and the service is unparalleled
Fabulous as ever! Always a treat!
Absolutely amazing. Can't wait to come back
Food and service was excellent!
The best!!! Always delicious! And the waiters are always so knowledgable about what they are serving you!
We loved the produce they grow on site. It makes the building beautiful and obviously the taste is fantastic. They have a lot of great ideas about food pairings that make you question the classics.
We had such an amazing time. Went for happy hour for a friend’s birthday. Ordered everything on the happy hour menu... plus some. Had lots of sake. Juan was the best server. Made great recommendations, put up with us, and joined in on our jokes and pranks with each other. 100% recommend Uchi and please please request Juan!
It was a great experience from the moment we got there. We got seated almost immediately upon arriving. The service was very good. The dishes were different from your normal sushi spot. The ambience was awesome. I enjoyed watching my beautiful date with the luxurious interior background. The dessert (fried milk) was also delicious. The prices weren't too pricey, but it is worth it due to the service and energy inside.
Everyone at our table ordered the 6 course tasting. All of the food was wonderful, service was fun, and coursing was spaced out perfectly. Will definitely be coming back soon.
Fantastic dining experience nothing more to say, service was outstanding and cocktails and food were on point, we’ll be back for more!
The best restaurant experience, hands down! The service is second to done! Uchi should have a michelin star (or two).
So glad to have Uchi in Denver. It never disappoints.
Very creative flavor combinations, which is always fun. Enjoyed trying the Tastings. The rolls we had weren't anything special. Rather pricey when you leave and are still hungry. Service was top-notch, as were Valet service & Welcoming Desk staff. I would recommend it. Maybe try the Happy Hour first to see how you like it. There were a few of the tastings from the Happy Hour that I LOVED and can't stop thinking about !
Highly recommend going during happy hour (5-6:30 PM)
