                                                      We were a little disappointed in the food. In a few cases it just lacked flavor. The chef seems to think a dollop of a spicy sauce is all that is needed to flavor a dish, but the main ingredient needs to be flavored, too. Two different variations of hummus were tried at our table. In both, there was a spicy condiment atop the hummus, but the hummus itself was bland, desperately in need of both lemon and salt. The lamb shashlik was decent and came with a nice rice and a tasty onion jam.

                                                      Tzeva is a gem in downtown Sarasota. They offer true Mediterranean dishes which are delicious. Kadek our server was very attentive and knowledgeable and offered excellent dining suggestions.

                                                      We enjoyed our food, tried lots of different items. It was all super good.......falafel, the fried feta and WOW, the baklava. We appreciated the location as we had theater tickets at FST. Our server was good......there was a bit of a wait for dessert.......we overheard another table discussing the issue of Timing. They also have nice outside seating and the people watching is fun. We would go back!

                                                      Started out good Server was pleasant and helpful with menu, food, Apps started out great then 1 1/2 hours and no mains served, this was early we arrived at 6 pm with very few tables. So we had to leave without main because we had wedding event to attend, they seemed surprised but we had asked where our food was and little concern.

                                                      We dined at Tzeva pre-play downtown. The location was fabulous - right across street from Florida Studio Theater. Our server was a delightful young man from Bali here for a year in training at the restaurant. He was especially friendly and very attentive. Food-wise we shared the very fresh and tasty Israeli salad. Our entrees were excellent - checked shishkebob and snapper. Bonus we ate outside and the people watching was great AND the bill was very reasonable - compared to other Sarasota restaurants.
