About TWO urban licks
TWO urban licks has been heating up the Atlanta restaurant scene with its “Fiery American Cooking” since opening in the fall of 2004, making it one of the city’s busiest restaurants on a nightly basis. The scene features “Fiery American Cooking” prepared in a magnificent nine-foot, wood pit rotisserie in the dining area and live blues nightly. TWO has garnered an abundance of local and national accolades including Conde Nast Traveler’s “Hot List”, Bon Appetit’s “Hot 50 Tables” and one of Rachael Ray’s “favorite restaurants” in the country as told to InStyle Magazine. Nominated year after year as Best Restaurant Scene and Best Place to Take an Out of Towner, it is no wonder that guests keep coming back for more.

TWO urban licks Ratings and Reviews
It was a great meal and I am very glad we had reservations because the restaurant was busy.
The disappointing thing was how many of the entrees were not available (too many to recall). The items they still had were great but everyone ordered their second choice!
No one needs to train the kitchen staff, food is excellent and as always presentation is 5 star. The servers are in need of a lengthy training course. The service doesn't match the ambiance and the food.... Been coming for years, time to take a break and go elsewhere. Sorry Two Urban, we're done!
We were so looking forward to this experience but were so disappointed. The bar was exceptional but the dining room was loud, slow and uninspiring. There was a crowd so they didn’t seem to care about us. Therefore I won’t care about them. I will not return.
We have been to TWO Urban Licks on multiple occasions. The last two times have been beyond disappointing. This last time, three orders were incorrect and the chicken was undercooked (resulting in sickness). This was after they ran out of three different entrees we had ordered. Manager told us he would discuss undercooked chicken with the chef, but we saw him throw the food in the trash and walk away— never discussing w the chef.
The food and service were great, but we honestly feel that the effort that servers and cooks made to deliver a fantastic experience, was quickly damaged by the mess at the valet parking area.
We visited Two Urban Licks Saturday night and we had no option to park ourselves. When we came out and were ready to leave, we had to wait over 30 mins for our car. It was freezing and the scene was frantic. I couldn't handle the cold weather anymore, so I decided to grab my keys and get the car myself. I didn't ask, I just did it. It was a mess. Other customers followed my idea. It took me like 10 more minutes to find the car, but I was just happy to be out of there.
Next day I had a terrible cold.
We went early and by 6 pm the place was hopping. Service was a little chaotic. The food was tasty but my meal was half a chicken with a teaspoon of jus and a kids portion of Mac and Cheese. It was so dark being sat at the back of the restaurant - we didn't realize how colorful the Kale salad was until we ate it using our cell phone lights! Food was delicious.
The Food Cricket
This was my first time here and I was very impressed. Everyone was very friendly and prompt with servicing us. The ambiance was nice, tad bit on the dark side, but overall pretty intimate. The food was excellent, I had the pork steak which came with collard greens and hoppin john. My girlfriend had the duck breast with garlic mashed potatoes. Everything blended together nicely, then we had dessert. We got the bittersweet chocolate bread pudding. It was a bit soggy and not too flavorful. It was served with vanilla ice cream. Overall the experience was nice, we definitely will come back.
Two urban licks never fails to impress. Service is always friendly and excellent. Food is consistently good and portions are plentiful. Brisket was perfectly cooked accompanied by their Mac and cheese is a hearty and satisfying choice. Their salmon chips appetizer is a wonderful blend of just a bit spicy and always a must.
This is my second time visiting this restaurant. For some reason, it did not live up to my own hype. The waiter seemed disinterested in our business and the menu has been dumbed down quite a bit. The food came out and tasted pretty good but I probably won’t go back as the quality of food doesn’t cause me to overlook the other issues
We’ve been there a few times past few months & each time try a different entree & does not taste good compared to other similar restaurants offering brisket, branzino, steak, & fish. My coworkers said the chicken & burger are the only good tasting items to eat. The other items do not live up to expectations or how food is described.
Also, we all eat desserts each dinner out & their desserts were not impressive-most of us skipped.
However, the service is exceptional & professional!! We would come here more often, if the menu would change (& noise acoustics), since we always enjoy the service.
I usually greatly enjoy Two, but this time it was not as pleasurable. The tables are really close together, so I kept feeling that wait staff or a patron would bump into me or spill stuff on me. Also, it was (unseasonably) cold outside, and we were seated next to the garage doors. The doors are quite drafty which made our dining experience a bit uncomfortable. However, I'm not sure how Two can work around that issue. Diners should take note.
Where we’re blessed with two waiters but John wasn’t very attentive, never gave us eye contact and being our first time didn’t really get and understanding of what the restaurant had to offer. Online it states blues band, never heard one. Food was ok for the price.
Linda our server was amazing!!!! We were celebrating our marriage and she surprised with a champagne toast and special dessert at the end of our meal. The wine list was amazing and we picked a bottle from the featured white wine list and it was wonderful! The hush puppies were delightfully spicy with a different twist.
Went to 2UL with some friends visiting town for the National Championships, got there about 10 minutes before 11 a.m...restaurant wasn't open, yet, forced to wait outside in the freezing cold. Get inside and get seated, restaurant is freezing. Salmon chips were good as always...brunch items good...not great. I would save this spot for dinner or drinks and apps. Live music was wonderful. My first time at Two Urban Licks for brunch...and maybe I have been living under a rock, but I didn't realize that mimosas can't flow until 12:30 versus 12 noon.
Hip, smokey atmosphere, delicious food, great service - this place exceeded our expectations! I got the rotisserie chicken (tender and juicy), my friend got the brisket which he said was awesome. We also go the salmon chips and pimento cheese hushpuppies for starters, which were also yummy. A little pricey - I would definitely consider this a 'treat yoself' kinda venue - but definitely worth it.
My new favorite restaurant in Atlanta, if not everywhere! This place is an experience from the moment you pull up into their converted warehouse and valet at the loading dock. The smoked brisket was outrageous! Salmon chips and Kale salad were both Fantastic! I will definitely be back next time I'm in Atlanta .
Me and my pregnant friend ordered the poke and the steak (respectively) and did not like either. The poke tasted drastically like fish, and the steak was 80% fat, 20% meat. I'm just a little embarrassed because I suggested this place to my friends, a group of eight food conscious girls. The only thing we enjoyed were the cocktails and the apps (hush puppies and salmon chips). I just wish I had a better experience here after hearing such rave reviews. I don't think any of us will be coming back.
I sent my poke back exactly the way it came, minus one bite and he didn't ask if I wanted a box or anything. I feel bad my friends keep asking if he is having an off night. It's embarrassing and we all left disappointed.
The bass smelled so bad to a group of seafood eaters that we had to cover it with a plate. The tuna appetizer consisted of a bowl of noodles with 4 tiny pieces of tuna and it did not taste good. The hostess stand was rude and ridiculous. The booth was uncomfortable. Not a good experience.
