About TWO urban licks
TWO urban licks has been heating up the Atlanta restaurant scene with its “Fiery American Cooking” since opening in the fall of 2004, making it one of the city’s busiest restaurants on a nightly basis. The scene features “Fiery American Cooking” prepared in a magnificent nine-foot, wood pit rotisserie in the dining area and live blues nightly. TWO has garnered an abundance of local and national accolades including Conde Nast Traveler’s “Hot List”, Bon Appetit’s “Hot 50 Tables” and one of Rachael Ray’s “favorite restaurants” in the country as told to InStyle Magazine. Nominated year after year as Best Restaurant Scene and Best Place to Take an Out of Towner, it is no wonder that guests keep coming back for more.

TWO urban licks Ratings and Reviews
After a recommendation from a friend who lives in Atlanta, I decided to make a evening reservation. The restaurant is secluded & was not an easy find for us out of towners, especially at night. We did have to wait for our entire party to arrive before we were allowed to sit. The waiter seemed very disinterested & rushed, so much so that he was tossing silverware & other utensils. Perhaps the waiter was having a bad night. Overall, besides the waiter, I would say my experience was fair.
Ive been to Two Urban Licks several times and I am always very pleased. This particular time the food was just so so. The bisket was very tender and flavorful but VERY DRY. The barbeque chicken was just ok. Overall the service and atmosphere were great but I was with someone who had never been and the were less than impressed because of the food.
It was our 5 year anniversary & the restraunt as well as our waiter made it very special for us! Our waiter was great! They even put on our dessert plate, Happy 5 year anniversary. And the dessert was complimentary which I was very impressed b/c it is a rare find to have anything complimentary anymore!
Went with a friend. Food was fantastic. Had the tacos as an appetizer. The Mahi entree which was divine and the Apple Tart for dessert (perfect, not too sweet/tart). Everything was delicious. I honestly enjoyed the bread and the chili pepper dip. My date looked at me in horror because I kept saying, "Excuse me but this is so good!" and ate more hot buttery bread. Anyways, we had early reservations, so I wasn't able to hear the live band, which I believe starts at 8pm. I plan on going back just so I can sit, eat, listen and enjoy.
There were four of us, and all four ordered something different. The signature drinks were amazing, the signature appetizers were outstanding, and the dishes that included house-smoked meat were to die for (brisket, chicken, steak). I can't wait to go back, and sit inside instead of on the patio.
The food was outstanding and what I had expected. Amazing. The only bad thing that I have to say when I dined at this restaurant a few weeks ago was that our server took longer than all portions of our meal to give us our check. She took 30 minutes to return my card.
I only have 750 characters so I will say it was to many errors to properly comment. The valet couldn't drive a standard shift. Our wait time was 30 minutes even with 9:30p reservation. We were seated at kidding table outside which was a Fred Flintstone wheel and patio chairs next to a storage shed and outdoor game. This was our 16th Wedding anniversary but felt more like Thanksgiving dinner being seated at the kidding table. The food was good but was ruined by the poor quality of service and atmosphere.
Overall, the experience was good. The food was good and the atmosphere was great. Got to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the nice weather. Service took a little time in the beginning but was decent afterwards. The worst part of the evening was the valet guy catching an attitude and almost started an argument. Luckily, I have patience for people like that.
We had been meaning to check out Two Urban Licks for awhile. Just visited and loved it. Converted warehouse space that is really mod. Prompt seating and very welcoming front of house. Our waiter was polite and knowledgeable about the entire menu. The homemade bread was fresh, hot and delicious. We tried the calamari as our starter and enjoyed it very much. Loved the wasabi aioli! The scallops main course was excellent - perfectly cooked, tasty and accompanied by Gouda grits. Honestly, it was fantastic. We will be back and how.
Two urban licks is a cool restaurant with excellent, inventive decor and a great atmosphere. The salmon chips were a phenomenal appetizer, but my scallop entree was just ok, not as good as my first visit to the restaurant. I left with the smell of grilled meat in my clothes, but the service was pleasant and I'll likely take my friends here again.
In trying something new, my fiancee and I decided to try TWO urban licks. We were greeted with an energetic atmosphere of good conversation, great live music, and on-time service. Although the tables were too close for comfort, we enjoyed the energetic vibes and great food. This restaurant experience was very different but good different. We would come back for a second experience. For romantics, this is not the place to have a intimate conversation unless you're eating outside on the back patio.
This place is SUPER trendy. They were too busy for words, and it was almost impossible for us to hear anything (even from our server). I ordered the scallops and they were decent at best. We left hungry, tired from the noise and with much lighter wallets. I wouldn't go back for anything other than a cocktail.
I have a food friend. We try to eat a different restaurant at least once a month. She had never been to Two Urban Licks before and she could not stop raving about the food. It had been a while since I had been there but they never disappoint. It was a truly fantastic experience.
We made an 8:00 reservation for a birthday dinner. We arrived at 7:55pm, knowing that it was a busy Saturday (8/10/11) night, we wanted to be seated on time. We had to wait at least 20 minutes before being seated. We also requested a quiet table or booth. The hostesses informed us that they only had a half booth available. Unfortunately, we were seated closely between two other tables, even though we walked past empty booths that I assume were saved for larger parties, and were unable to sit next to each other (sorry, we actually do like each other :-). Therefore, the wait and the fail on the table request put a bit of a damper on what was supposed to be a semi-romantic birthday dinner, but the food and service was great.
It was great! The food was delicious. My boyfriend is still raving that the brisket was the best he's ever had. My scallops were cooked perfectly and just amazing. The apps were also tasty. The dining room was noisy, but not overly so. I could hear the person in front of me, but wouldn't want to be in a large group, trying to hear something someone not next to me was saying.
Not our first time to this place - we come every chance we get all the way from Woodstock, GA. It's totally worth it and the food is amazing. Definitely my personal favorite in Atlanta.
Recommendations - start with the salmon chips and add a 2nd appetizer (empenadas? tuna tartar?. We always get the salmon chips because they are way too hard to pass up. The bistro steak is hard to pass up, I have a difficult time not ordering it. I am SO EXCITED the brown sugar ice cream is back on the menu with the bread pudding. So awesome!
