The chef is an artist. He is creative and a master at speaking about his inspirations. The food is wonderful. It is everything you hope for from a Omakase experience, and the service is exemplary. The timing is good and the attention to detail is on point, yet I felt as though I was attending a private dinner party. The chef, his food, and the service are very welcoming.

2nd visit to this place and it has quickly become my favorite omakase/kaiseki experience. . You are welcomed in and immediately feel like you're part of a family having dinner. Can't wait to go back for round 3.

We wanted to try out the new sushi restaurant in Georgetown and the interior was very nice. Our sushi chef made the nigiri right in front of us to order which was unique. It was definitely a bit pricier than some other sushi restaurants with similar atmospheres. Overall, a great spot to try for special occasions, date nights, or if you’re in the Georgetown area.

We recently visited Two Nine after hearing about it through the chef’s cousin in Hawaii—and I’m so glad we made the trip. I booked a reservation via OpenTable for Sunday at 5:30 PM, and while I initially thought we’d be ordering a la carte, we were pleasantly surprised to experience the full omakase instead. The moment we stepped inside, we were struck by the warm, intimate atmosphere. The space was thoughtfully designed to feel like home, and the light wood tones brought me right back to Japan and Okinawa. It felt both refined and personal. The omakase experience was incredible—19 curated courses, with 14–15 pieces of nigiri that were each beautifully balanced and full of flavor. Highlights included tako ashi, ishidai, shima aji, otoro, and many more, all enhanced with the chef’s custom sauces and subtle garnishes. Each dish was prepared with clear intention and technique, from the precise cuts to the torching and plating. What truly elevated the meal was the chef himself—his storytelling, passion, and dedication to his craft were evident in every course. He took time to explain the why behind each piece, which deepened our appreciation for the meal. And we absolutely loved his nigiri rice—it was perfectly seasoned and textured, and tied everything together in a way only a true sushi artisan can achieve. The menu changes almost daily, the fish was incredibly fresh, and the entire experience felt like a journey through the chef’s artistry. We will absolutely be back.

Delicious and impeccable service! The decor is calming, and almost feels like you’re in Tokyo the way it’s located on the 2nd floor in an alley. The staff and chef are friendly and warm yet extremely professional at the same time. The sushi is absolutely perfect and of course a work of art. Highly recommend!
