Two Dudes Seafood Restaurant PV
We are new to the area and are so happy we discovered Two Dudes! We probably eat there once a week for a great, healthy meal of fresh fish and veggies. If you want to indulge, have the hushpuppies or the twice baked potato.
Wait staff are all friendly and knowledgable and can explain the difference between all the different fish choices on the menu.
Enjoyed bringing special guests to our fresh local seafood favorite. The food is fresh and tasty. The service is friendly and casual. Cozy ambiance and awesome coconut cake. I love a Friday wind-down with an early reservation.
24.00 for one piece of cod and a pile of cole slaw. Much touted coconut cake (7.00) was stale and icing tasted like an old icebox. 😒
Food was excellent and generous in servings. Service was friendly, but simple requests took far too long and needed reminders (for example, ketchup for the French fries). Specials were not priced. Why not? It's just a chalk board or paper menu. In general, prices were high for a place with picnic tables and hard chairs inside. Of course, you can't eat ambience, but you are overpaying for it here.
Note: that this site isn't working well. I intended 4 stars, not 1.
This is my overall fav seafood place in Jax. Relaxed atmosphere amazing selections. Little pricey $30 dinner plate but you get what you pay for and this ain’t long John silvers. It’s fresh excellent fan-flipping-tastic!!! <3 <3 <3
Very casual atmosphere, but great food! The Corvina fish and raw oysters were both outstanding. Portions are large and there is a lot of variety on the menu - something for everyone.
Food was quite overpriced for what you get. Although fish was fresh, portions were not large and nothing about the experience warranted the bill being 25% higher than Salt Life.
Nice place to eat, food was average. We had tacos, and it was just cabbage mix and fish. It was kind of boring for $16.
We have been going to PVB for vacation for a few years and the week corresponds with my youngest daughter’s birthday. Last year we went to Two Dudes for her birthday dinner and she loved it. They really went above and beyond. This year she chose to go back. I doubt she will want to next year. The service was terrible. They messed up our order. My oldest daughter ordered grilled fish and she got blackened. She doesn’t like anything spicy. Her friend ordered a burger and it came out with the wrong toppings. They brought out the wrong drinks. The food was just ok. For the prices, you can definitely get better seafood in PVB. To top off our visit, we ordered desert. They messed that up also. We had to tell our waiter what was supposed to be on the strawberry longboard. I reward good food and service with repeat business. Needless to say, Two Dudes is not going to be rewarded with any more business from me.
It was a little average- everything save the buffalo shrimp was almost flavorless
Excellent seafood and soup!
Would go back again soon!
The food here is great. I loved the Baja tacos and the twice-baked potatoes on the side were crunchy and yummy. The waitress was efficient. There’s not much in the way of ambiance, but with seafood this good, I don’t care!
Blackened Shrimp was delicious. Husband thought his grilled snapper was good but small portion. Other guests enjoyed their meal too. Good selection of fresh seafood, however for my mainly vegan daughter, not many selections to chose from, however We would return if in area
Until last Saturday, July 20, we thought that Two Dudes was one of the best value seafood restaurants on the beach. Fresh seafood, reasonable prices, and large portions. But when we invited two friends from out of town to join us, our experience was not good. My draught beer was warm, my Wahoo fresh catch was dry, my wife's crab cakes had many rather large pieces of shells in the cakes, and our friends grouper was soggy, not firm. The calamari and the sides were all very good, but that didn't hide our overall disappointment.
Wonderful meal attentive staff thank you!
The mahi fish + vegetabes was delicious. However, the seafood pasta dish
was very dry and needs much more sauce. The Beach Bisque had little
flavor and was like pudding. It needs to be eliminated or completely remade to be a
tasty bisque soup.
Great food and fabulous service. Our server Kilty was the best
Good meal. Classic seafood place off chalk board. Simple meal but well done.
We decided to try a new (to us) seafood restaurant for Father’s Day. They were out of the fish selections we had wanted so we all (6 of us) ordered various shrimp meals. I ordered blackened and it was incredibly salty. My daughter said the same about her grilled shrimp. My husband said his shrimp tacos were very bland. Hindsight being what it is, we should have tried to find a different restaurant when this “seafood” restaurant was out of most of their fish. The positives are the restaurant appeared clean and the waitstaff was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately that’s not enough to make us want to ever eat there again.
Food was good, albeit slightly more $ than one would expect. Will go back.
Now I know why there is always a line at Safe Harbor seafood. I had been wanting to try Two Dudes but found it to be wanting itself. The food was okay (although the onion strings were only luke warm at best) but the service was slow and poor (server kept forgetting we expected or requested). And the prices seemed high relative to other local casual seafood restaurants such as Safe Harbor or Beachside Seafood. Certainly won't be returning to Two Dudes.
We sat in a booth which was a mistake. The backs of the seats are shared with the people in the adjacent booths. Any time someone moved it moved your booth. It was extremely annoying. Next time we’ll sit at a table.
Good food. Server was excellent with her initial interactions but it was hard to wave her down after. Prices seemed very steep for the decor and location. We got the fried grouper sandwich and a veggie burger. The longboard dessert was enormous! Definitely will give it another try as we live across the street but the prices will probably prevent it from being a regular stop in our restaurant rotation.
Food and service were excellent. The fish was fresh (not frozen) and everyone’s portion was huge. Great place to dine with friends as the noice level is very low. Also, it is not over-priced. Great wine selection! We’ve been there many times and will continue to dine there.
We went for Mother’s Day & were pretty disappointed that they only had 2 people working out on the floor- someone behind the bar who was also greeting & helping with everything else as well- but we had to get up and get our own menus after sitting for a few minutes and another person serving and bussing...the 2 of them were clearly working hard and were very pleasant but we wound up skipping dessert because when we asked for a minute to decide they never came back so eventually we had to flag them down for the check and then bring it to the bar to pay. The food was great and reasonable priced so we do want to go back...hoping they were just understaffed because of call-outs or something. We were there for an hour and 40 minutes, with most of that time spent waiting, unfortunately.
I made reservations with requesting to not have a table in the middle, requesting of a booth. I asked about my request when seated at a table in the middle of room, stating that I did ask for this request but was told by employee as he scanned the room, it is busy and you do have a table. Ok, why make a reservation if it can't be delivered? 10 min after sitting at our table, a booth behind us opened up. Why couldn't that have been offered when I made notice of my request, lack of host caring was my impression since it wasn't even attempted to be considered. I ordered a Mojito, was told they were out of fresh mint, on a Saturday night early in the evening, I was disappointed. Our server was attentive, the food tasted good, moderately priced. It has a casual atmosphere with the surfer motif theme. Will I come back, not any time soon for too many other restaurants to try and be amazed.
We came on an unfortunate night. Had a reservation and were seated right away. Wait person took our order and then we waited...and waited...an hour and 15 minutes to get our food! Half the dinners came out and then we waited 10 more minutes for the other half to arrive. We had to ask about our food. Think the wait staff was embarrassed about the waiting and said the kitchen was all out of whack.
The fish was delicious when it did arrive.
Best fish in town
Food was great as always, waitress was very nice, but food came too fast. We had an appetizer, salad, and entree and the salad came in the middle of the appetizer and entree came shortly after the salad. I find this to be the case at most restaurants. Are wait staff no longer taught timing of meals?
Fish was fresh. I had grilled grouper. Didnt care for the seasoning though. Maybe i'll do fried next time. Shrimp was really good. Didnt care much for the steamed veggies. Too much seasoning and overly cooked.
Food is ALWAYS excellent. Friendly staff. We actually ate there on Easter Sunday!
Server was good- she pointed out specials on the blackboard and gave good recommendations on tacos. Our twice baked potatoes were overcooked. Shrimp special with datil bbq sauce were warm and shrimp were small. Tacos were good. Draft beer was cold but tasted flat. Coconut cake was good. First time at this location. May give it another try since it is in the neighborhood but there are other good choices for seafood in the PVB area. Manager stopped by and ask about the meal - did not take the time to elaborate - did not want to complain as we are not regular customers.
Super food. Nice servers. The scallops and crab cakes are outstanding.no
The Two Dudes is reliably good every time we go. The fish is fresh and prepared nicely. The sides are a little different if you want more than french fries. The service is good even when crowded. It is a good value for the price. It is not a white tablecloth restaurant but is not meant to be.
Wasabi slaw was very spicy. I usually love it but was different this time. Wish the menu had collards and black eye peas or quinoa or sweet potatoes etc. Grouper was very good and service was great!
Best place to get fresh board driven seafood menu in the area. Simple food prepared well.
Anywhere you can get fresh local fish, fixed well, is my kind of place. Very sorry we ordered coconut cake. Instead of simple beautiful cake it was covered with sauces and whipped cream and very unappealing. The cake itself was good.
Two Dudes is always fresh!! Its delicious! And you get so much food!! I highly recommend this place!!!
Have eaten 4 times. Seafood always fresh and nicely prepared. Don’t know my favorite side yet. French fries and regular slaw this time were both very good. Wine choices are OK, won’t win rewards but good selection. Service was very good
Construction was going on and there was dust everywhere. Our waiter was great. Food was good.
