Two Brothers Round House
In addition to being a full-service restaurant and brew pub, Two Brothers Roundhouse also offers banquet space for a variety of get-togethers, large and small as well as a music venue and the Two Brothers Cafe and Beer Bar. Situated in the oldest limestone roundhouse in the US, its 70,000 square foot facility is listed in the National Registry of Historic Places. The Two Brothers Roundhouse menu starts you off with an appetizer of chimichurri nachos, Brussels sprouts or beer brezen, just to name a few, and follows that up with favorites such as autumn scallops, goat risotto or duck 'n grits in addition to a wealth of other entrees, burgers and sandwiches.
Passion for beer, a love of food and live entertainment with a decidedly local flair flourish inside the granite walls of the Two Brothers Roundhouse.
Great place! The food and drinks were fantastic. The service was super!
Great old building, good beer, cocktail selection, but appetizers and food were just ok. Nothing wrong, but nothing special.
I was looking forward to Two Brothers but was absolutely let down. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I've actually have told others how horrible it was and to never go. Our waitress looked like a mess and shouldn't have been wearing her bike shorts to work. It was dirty under our table. Makes me think how dirty is the kitchen. Our food was disgusting and cold. It seemed liked all precooked food just slapped on a plate. We quickly made our way out of the restaurant to take our business elsewhere. Never again will I go to Two Brothers. Disappointed because my husband and I were just trying to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Hope this restaurant can get it together.
Good food, good service, great ambiance. Fun place to go.
Two brothers never disappoints! I like all of their restaurants, but the Roundhouse is still my favorite!
Enjoyed our time with friends. Was accommodating for a party of 10.
We had an item off of the starter menu and an item off of their entree menu. Both were OK, neither spectacular nor horrible. The service was good. However, when it came time to get the check, we did have to wait for a little bit for her to come pick it up. In fact I had to go to the hostess stand to give her the payment.
We had notified her in the very beginning comet that we were attending a play near by, and would want the check shortly after receiving dinner. However, we had to request the check and wait and wait and wait.
The real downside was that I wanted to try their stout beer. However, they didn't have any to offer.
Gathering of old friends for the first time in 4 years. We were able to catch up. We were not rushed. The only negative comment from the group was the menu may have been cut back.
Short handed out side. Took 20 minutes to get drinks. No blame a on the staff that was working. Just not enough help
Cool place, uneven table, great service, food needs work, burger was succulent and well balanced, lasagna had good texture in a chef-boy-r-dee sauce, no parking, valet needs help in courtesy standards, coffee was cold and not appealing to my palate, ice is easy to crunch. You decide.
the place was loud. it was hared to hear what your dinner guest was saying. The service got off to a rocky start but got better as the nite wore on. The food was EXCELLENT! I had the cajun pasta which was so good I wanted to take another serving home with me. My friends had the peach salad and they were very impressed. Fresh peaches were a nice touch. Will be back soon..
Saturday night - great overall for dinner and live music. Nice outdoor seating (in good weather). Valet parking only, due to a large local event nearby - not a long wait, just a little inconvenient getting in/out. Food was very good and service was fine until we closed out our dinner check, after which no one came by to take additional drink orders (as promised). However, walk-up bars are convenient indoors & out, so no big deal.
I have previously been to this place when it was the Walter Payton's restaurant many, many years ago but didn't recall much about it other than it was in the middle of nowhere. Well, I was highly anticipating my first visit since this place became Two Brothers, as I love their beer, but it didn't live up to my expectation. I've read some mix reviews ahead of time, so I was somewhat prepared (and hoped for the best) but, boy, was I disappointed. Although their beers were great, the food were so-so at best and totally overpriced (the city price in Aurora) and the service was less than mediocre. I requested a table when making my reservation but we were taken to a booth, so I kindly reminded the hostess that we requested a table but were told there were none. One eventually opened up but it was not off to a very good start. Then, it got worse. Our server didn't come to our table for a while after we were seated and we had to continue to flag him down throughout the evening. We may give the Warrenville location a try, as my friend said this place is much better than Aurora, but will never return to this one in Aurora.
Good food, decent service, a very busy place overall good experience
We were heading over to Rivers Edge for a concert, this restaurant is a perfect stop before it for a good meal. We each had one of their delicious classic burgers with chips or fries. Nice selection of beers. We'll be back!
We've dined here before. The food is always good, and the service was attentive and friendly. I also enjoyed a few of their beer selections which were good. They have a great outdoor dining venue with live music. It's a very cool place in a very historic building.
We really wanted to like this place but were honestly kind of disappointed with the meal. We may have just ordered the wrong things and probably should have stuck with the more traditional pub fare, like burgers, but we ordered the steak medallions and the sword fish to try something different... Neither one of these were very good. I'm not trying to be mean but they tasted more like something you'd get off the oldtimers menu at cracker barrel along with the meatloaf... Neither dish was seasoned particularly well and the sauce on the medallions was weirdly sweet. Also the plateing of the medallions was comical, in a pretentious way, like a mashed potatoe squid with steak madallion eyes and asparagus legs... Not particularly appetizing.
One bright spot was that for a starter we ordered the house made potatoe chips and cheese dip and they were pretty good! If you go here my recommendation would be to try something in the realm of sandwiches and pub food and avoid the "fancier" options. We didn't feel that the food here was a good value compared to something like Chili's or similar chains.
We were attending a concert at RiverEdge Park and went to Two Brothers for dinner prior to the show. It worked out great. And, because we had a reservation made on Open Table we were seated immediately - people without reservations were told 35 to 45 minutes. The food was also very good.
We expected a more historical emphasis and additional shops.
We love Two Brothers. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because it was warm in the restaurant. It was a 90 degree plus day, so not really their fault. Due to the high ceilings and the staff and guests going in and out the patio doors, I would imagine it's not easy to keep the place cool. Will keep the temperature in mind the next time we dine there.
Kudos to the staff, for their friendly welcome! Front door staff was wonderful, as well as our waitress! After dining, she helped us transition to the outdoor patio to hear the live music. She went above and beyond and got us a great table!
We had a group of 10 and were seated in a semi-private space at a round table. We were able to have a conversation and hear one another- It was amazing! Beer and food were good!
Good service, good food, good ambience. We were able to park and leave the car after dinner to attend the concert at RiverEdge Park, then enjoyed the band at Roundhouse afterwards. GREAT TIME!
The beer was great the food was so-so. Brussels Sprouts were oversalted and a bit tough. The "Rueben" with brisket was a nice try but a miss on taste. The Mahi Mahi was good, but kind of a small portion. The beer was good.
Our order was incorrect, replacement order was also incorrect. Third time was okay, but everyone else was already done eating by then. Cobb salad was very disappointing; presentation was awful.
I've heard so many good things about this place from co-workers that I think they were just having an off night the night I went. I had reservations, but it was chaotic trying to get checked in and then we had to make 3 trips when they were trying to seat us. The buffalo chicken wrap I ordered was absolutely swimming in ranch dressing, but my husband's short rib sandwich was good. The beer was great and so was the atmosphere. Staff was aplogetic with the seating snafu. Like I said, I think they were having an off night, so I would try it again.
Trying to put my finger on just what I thought of our dining experience last Friday, Aug 3. It was not bad in anyway yet was not special in anyway. Service was fine. Food was a bit of a let down I guess. No one in my party of four thought their food was great. We live in Geneva/St Charles so our expectations are fairly high. Fish tacos were a bit greasy without a lot of fish. Sides like the rice seemed a little dry and not real fresh. For the money I’d recommend some other places. Parking was also a bit ridiculous. Not a horribible experience but nothing special.
Excellent service. A great fun place to get together with friends and have good food and beer. I ordered the steak salad and I would just recommend a little more steak on the salad.
The food and beer were excellent. The service was amazing, especially for our party of 6 that included three kids under 6yo! It is pricey, but we left nothing on our plates and it was a wonderfully enjoyable evening. If you don't mind paying a bit more, it's definitely worth a trip!!
Incredible atmosphere, and the food was amazing. I really enjoyed the experience, and I look forward to going back. Before you sit outside, check to see if a band is playing - it's loud, so make sure you'll enjoy the music. Great place!
We sat outside. Service was rough. We were seated for 20 mknsutes before anyone came over. The music was loud. We understand there is live entertainment but until then the music didn’t need to be so loud. I had the chicken Cesar salad and a little too much dressing on my salad. Again the service was very slow. We got more help from other servers then our server.
We had a group of nine people celebrating a birthday, it was a beautiful evening and we had a small child in our group. The online reservation process asked if I wanted to be seated inside or outside, so I requested outside. The system then accepted my request and placed my reservation. When we arrived we were taken to an inside table and I immediately questioned why I was asked the question if they were not going to honor my request. It took a few minutes of waiting, but they managed to put together a couple round tables outside for a group sitting. It worked out OK, but it seemed as if the people seating us weren't even aware of the request process. The rest of the evening went very nicely and we had good food, good drinks and good service.
Only had one beer. The server never came back to ask if we wanted more. The meal came to the table very quickly but then afterwards we didn’t see the server. Had to track her down to ask fo a check. The food was mediocre. Lackluster experience at best.
We sat outside and we had a great time. Food was good also.
We wait long time to order food. Our waitress had so many tables to come around us and ask if we need anything.
Great atmosphere, outdoor dining and live eband, all with great food. Definitely going back.
Love the varied menu items and Two Brothers beers. Great informal atmosphereyy. We especially enjoy the venue before attending River .Edge Park or the Paramount
Not a good variety on the menu. Great brew selections, I’d come back for drinks and appetizers, but not a meal.
We had a party of six. We ordered an appetizer, meals and dessert. We were in and out in an hour. The food came out quickly, we weren’t expecting it quite that fast. Surprisingly it wasn’t too busy on a Saturday evening.
On a Friday night with reservations for 20 the service was terrible. The first refills on even water weren’t taken until almost an hour after we were sat. Several orders were wrong, cold, or short items. The second table didn’t receive their plates until 25 minutes after the first table received theirs, though the orders were taken at the same time. I would not recommend coming here as a group, as besides our bad experience it seemed like everywhere you looked tables were getting impatient and servers were frustrated by being deep in the weeds.
Awesome as always. The brothers do food as well as they craft beer. Speaking of ambience... C'mon you're in a railroad roundhouse! We enjoyed dining outside with a great server also.
