Very enjoyable. The staff and service was outstanding!
I selected this restaurant based on the photos and menu linked on Open Table. The restaurant has since changed. The third floor bar was the same but the restaurant is now basic bar food: burgers, a few sandwiches. I was embarrassed because I had invited people out for my birthday dinner and frankly we could have gone to chili’s if I had known this was the menu and the ambiance was what it was. Their walls are now covered in fake wood board and barren like a old basement would be. I specifically picked this place because of how it looked and the menu. I recognize I should have looked at their own website to be sure.
Further, the food was just ok. They claim to have a cheesy pretzel twist. It’s not pretzel. Just bread. Everything else was just ok. The service was slow and our server lacked personality and what personality she did have was sassy and not in a good way.
The food was below average at best, pretzel appetizer was dry and seemed like it was baked days before. If you are at all on a low salt diet, this food will taste very salty. Still love their beer but will pass on the restaurant. Disappointing.
The hostesses seemed very confused when we arrived with the manager explaining that they were shortstaffed. This didn’t bode well for the beginning of our meal. However, the meal was good and our server did a good job keeping up handling multiple tables
Food was good but that’s where the good ended. Cocktails were terrible. I ordered a Manhattan and my wife a Negroni: undrinkable. The vermouth was bad. I sent mine back after two sips....they never credited my bill. $30 in terrible cocktails from a place that advertises themselves as a cocktail bar.
Waiter cared but was poorly trained. The only saving grace is the food was hot and good. Place could be great but is poorly managed. You can tell when tables sit with guests plates on them long after guests have left.
Would not recommend and I’m a Two Brothers fan. The restaurant in Warrenville is one of my favorites.
We were a party of four with 7:00 PM reservations on a Saturday night. It didn't seem too crowded; there were several open tableWe were sat on the first floor
Service needs work to improve. Our waiter was pleasant but definitely overloaded. Glass of wine ordered early did not come until food was served. Desert took a long time for delivery. Server made attempt to make it right by not charging for the desert. A manager and two hostesses, who were no more than 15 feet from our table, were not perceptive to the issues and could have helped out the server. One hostess stopped at our table after we had been waiting for the check for a long time, but only offered us more water. What was surprising was that not all the tables in our area were occupied.
The food was good, service was very slow initially, but improved. Server very friendly. I just didn’t care for the atmosphere. Very cold and unwelcoming. Very small table for two, uncomfortable chairs. It felt as if you weren’t encouraged to stay for more than one drink.

The food was disappointing. The pretzel app was very dry and flavorless. Fries green tomatoes were bland on flavor. The salad was solid. Over all just not very exciting. No depth of flavor.
We had one Jamaican mule, one old fashioned, the pretzel app, we split a wedge salad, one prime rib sandwich, and a veggie burger. The cocktails were tasty. The salad was good. Overall though, not worth the $92 we spent. Pretty much overpriced pub food. Disappointing.
Nothing special;staff kind of acted clueless the entire time.
We enjoyed the music and atmosphere. However, our food was not to our liking.
Took us an hour between sitting down and getting our food. Asked for medium rare steak and got medium well. The waitress was sweet but brand new. The chef instructed her to tell me that the steak was prepared as I requested (putting her in a very uncomfortable situation). Will not be going back.
Great food and beer. Kids eat free on and 1/2 price apps on mondays!
So FYI as if my visit 8/2019 the menu has changed. Last time I went we sat on 2nd floor - we were first to arrive and we were seated by the front door. When asked if we could be sat upstairs - I was told that was only if they got busy. I was surprised to only have 3 tables for Sunday brunch in this downtown area. They did offer us both the brunch and lunch menu — but the brunch menu changed drastically. It is one page - very few selections and more “rustic” approach as opposed to the previous offerings.
Then we were there for our anniversary (since we were married at Two Brothers Roundhouse) not mentioned at check in or by our waiter, despite being marked on OT when I made reservations.
They did accommodate as I requested a “traditional Benedict” — no Canadian bacon, which was fine but they didn’t offer any Bacon on the side, which I felt was a missed opportunity. English muffin wasn’t toasted to my liking, it was still soft. The hollandaise sauce was broken.
Would go back but would do so with revised expectations. But overall let down based on my previous experience.
There were 3 in our party and we were seated at a very awkward table of 2 tables for 2 pushed together against a wall. People on the ends had to strain their ears to hear each other and the person on the side stared directly at a blank wall. Since we had reservations and there were other open tables I thought it was a weird seating option. I’m guessing the other tables were being saved for 4 person parties. I didn’t say anything or make a fuss, but everyone in the party thought the seating was strange.
There were some interesting menu choices. Everyone in my crew liked what they ordered. Two of us are GF sensitive and they offered good options. We shall return.
The tables were small and the chairs were uncomfortable. The food was good but not as good as the Craftsman. Now that we know that what to expect we won't be as disappointed. The cocktails are as good as ever. We will back.
Walking in the appearance was fairly standard with Wooden tables and metal chairs. We did not care much for the metal chairs as they were uncomfortable. The menu was pretty basic with burgers and sandwiches but we arrived on Sunday and they had a Sunday brunch menu containing egg dishes and egg burritos. We ordered an egg bowl, prime rib sandwich and fried chicken sandwich. The presentations were very nice and each one of the meals Had very good flavor. No complaints with the food. Our server was very attentive and very helpful And our meals were served fairly quickly and arrived hot. Overall it was a very nice lunch but nothing spectacular. It seems a little pricey as 3 cocktails with 3 meals and tip was $80. A bit much for lunch.
This placed was The Craftsman until recently and was one of my favorite brunch places. We decided to check out the revamp and unfortunately were very disappointed.
MENU: The old great cocktail list was gone and replaced w shakes. They ran out of pork (seemed like half the menu) at 11:15am. Limited breakfast options for brunch that skewed on the savory side. No omelet options, didn’t see any pancakes/French toast) for brunch.
SERVICE: No smiles from the staff. Server was unfamiliar w the menu and didn’t tell us about being out of pork until we had already decided on our orders so we had to start over.
AMBIANCE: The upstairs (which is one of the best parts about the place) was no longer an option as all patrons had to sit downstairs.
Overall, we were very disappointed and don’t plan on returning unless The Craftsman returns as well.
Really killed what was a great place. Food now bar food not good at all. Crazy loud band couldn’t hear each other talk. Go back to how it was please
Overall, things were ok. I had South Carolina pulled pork - fantastic. Hard to find SC bbq around here. This was genuine.
My wife had shrimp and grits - meh; the shrimp was overcooked and not spiced enough, and wayyyyyy too much butter and grease in the dish.
Beer selection was ok, too hoppy for my tastes, but interesting selection of summer beers.
Our server was fantastic.
Will go back again but waiting for Fall beers
Food was average at best. Waiter had NO personality. No ambiance or charm in the restaurant either.

When we arrived the place was rather empty for a Saturday night. That first impression left us a little suspect of our experience. Our waiter, Martin, turned that all around! He had really solid recommendations and was attentive without being overly so.
I drank a glass of rose and it was really nice. My husband had one of the seasonal beers and he enjoyed it.
We started with the Tater-totchos which were delicious. The starter was a bit of a splurge so we both opted for the Chopped Salad with Ranch. The salads were fresh and flavorful with a unique and yeasty ranch dressing blend.
The place did eventually fill up. We were seated on the first floor and it seemed like most of the seating was probably on the second floor. We finished up when the band was on their third song. They were fantastic so in retrospect wish we had arrived a bit later. All things considered it was a really great evening and we will definitely return!
My wife and I thought the food was outstanding. We both had catfish over dirty rice. Both of us enjoyed the meal.
We went to the Barrel House to see live music. The Lesser Saints were the band and we really enjoyed both the banter and the music. It was a very relaxing and fun evening.
I felt my fish tacos were very good but a small portion for the money. The plate was filled up with tater tots.
Our dining experience tonight was quite disappointing. Having lived down the street from the Two Brothers Tap House and loving The Roundhouse and the Scottsdale store, we were looking forward to this dinner.
My Kentucky Mule cocktail came served in a tall glass, not a copper mug (then don’t call it a mule). Beer was just okay. Our burgers were pretty tasty though my husband’s was over cooked.
Though there were a few tables sat at the time we were eating, our server did not hear me as I tried to request the drink menu to order a new drink. I said I didn’t really like the mule and it wasn’t even taken off our bill which I feel like is a pretty standard customer service proactive.
The ambience was pretty loud for it not being too crowded. Too many hard surfaces for all the sounds to bounce off of. The warm, pub like atmosphere was just not there.
Major disappointment. We will likely not return.
I was eager to try the new concept as the previous Craftsman concept was bit too upscale for my tastes. The new concept is much more traditional pub/american type fare. Not a huge menu, but that's OK. Would rather they do a few things really well. Went here on my birthday and got a table no problem on a Wednesday. Our server was very energetic and helpful, she actually has had the food/beer and could comment. My wife had the veggie burger, my 17 year-old the half-rack ribs, and I had the Ole Smokey Burger. The beer, of course, is good. However, they were our of their signature Cinnamon Root Beer. Gonna be honest, they haven't been open that long, and if you're going to have a signature home made drink, you'd better not run out. My wife loved her veggie burger and the tater tots. The boy liked the ribs, however he said he prefers my home made ribs. My burger was OK. I ordered it medium well, it came much more on the well side. I probably should have asked. The bacon was a bit overcooked and burnt, thus my burger tasted more burned than smokey. We also ordered one of the "adult shakes" for dessert and it was delicious. Took awhile to get the check, as it looked like our waitress had the whole front half of the first floor. In summary, I like the new concept. The food was good, not great, however I will go back and update my review based on trying some other choices.
Service was really very good. Food was good. Not great and took a while from ordering to eating. Had brunch burger and heurvo rancheros.
Dinner at Two Brothers Barrel House was very nice. The service was good; our server was knowledgeable, attentive and swift. My trout special was particularly delicious-moist and tasty. It was accompanied by a corn and farro dish that was extra tasty. My companion’s shrimp salad was beautiful and delicious. The drinks are a bit on the sweet side. All and all, a lovely evening out.
Don’t waste your time:
My hazy ipa was anything but hazy. I actually had to ask the waiter if it wasn’t a Pilsner since it was transparent and not opaque. Two Brothers Beer continues to disappoint as they are predictable and boring. I wish I ordered a Zombie Dust instead. The food was okay, but nothing special. We went for our anniversary because my wife and I went to Black Finn 9 years ago on our first date there. When I made the reservation through Open Table, I noted that it was for our anniversary and they did not even mention or congratulate us on our special occasion. Not that it’s necessary, but it would have been nice. They seated us at he front on a little corner and it felt like they didn’t have the air conditioning turned on even though it was a 90+ degree day in July. I was literally sweating while eating my food due to the lack of AC. Between the boring hazy ipa, the nothing-to-write-home-about food, and sweating while eating, I wish I took my partner to McDonalds to celebrate our anniversary.
My son & I have enjoyed your beers for some time & wanted to try more of them. We wanted a tour, but none were offered on late Sunday afternoons, so we ordered food & a beer flight. Food tasted ok, the beers were awesome & our bartender, who had only us as customers for a while, was very knowledgeable & friendly. We even tried additional beers for "dessert" & were very pleased. We will definitely be back there or go to your Warrenville plant for a tour & further sampling. Keep up the good work (& beer)!
We were disappointed that many items on the menu were unavailable for lunch.
The food and beer was really good but the service was awful. There was only 6 of us and we were there for over 2 hours because the service was so slow. It wasn’t the servers fault though...I only saw him serving and one other girl. They need to have more than 2 servers, even on a Monday!
Also, we had two babies and we needed 2 slings and they said they only have one! That was super strange to me...what if a group of moms got together for some food and beer !?! They would be SOL! They need to def get some more!
Too expensive for what you got and chicken looked liked it had been fried twice and was burned, won’t go back
We came for Sunday brunch. We both had their delicious coffee and the veggie Benedict - it was delightful. Sat outside, out front, very nice. Service was great!
Bad atmosphere. What happened to the second floor and its menu? Couldn’t stand the loud bombardment of stupid country music. Oh, but I could watch UFC fighters get bloody. Really? The Barrel House Classic burger was the single worst $12 burger I’ve ever ordered - no, it was the single worst burger I’ve ever ordered, and I’m 54 and have eaten a lot of quality burgers. The patty tasted fine, but was swimming in a bun twice its size. Oh, the fries were cold, the burger was cold and this took 40 minutes! I’m a fan of Two Brothers beer, but all the good ones listed in the menu were “unavailable.” I mean four of them. I will never return to the Naperville location since there are far too many GOOD burger and tavern locations to visit. Maybe, just maybe I’ll give the Roundhouse one more try since it has been consistently good. On a final note, all the staff were just annoying, and the people I perceived to be in charge had no training in customer interaction or support. One more thought, the “high top” bar stools only fit people 8 years old and younger. I felt like it was rejecting me for the torturous hour i had to sit there. Conclusion, go back in time, undo this awful mistake of a remodel, and earn some customer loyalty. I hate this place now.
Waited 40 min to have our order taken... then after we ate, waited about 45 min for our server to check on us, he never did... we walked to the kitchen to get someone’s attention, so they could give me a bill...
