My review is purely based off New Year’s Eve and the fact that we left after 5 minutes. First they stated they’d be throwing a 1920s themed party and dress strongly encouraged. When we walk in tvs are playing football, people dressed in t-shirts and jeans. Next I state we have a reservation and she takes us to a hightop set in the back on the way to the exit, out of the dining room. It felt very exclusionary and as if we were to eat dinner by ourselves in a back hallway. Not New Year’s Eve vibe at all. There were multiple tables empty. I asked if we could be moved. The manager stated that we could not be moved and they were “reserved”. I guess not for people with reservations. I felt bad for the hostess who was very sweet but following what her manager said to not accommodate customers (and we wanted to purchase their VIP package as well. So I guess that translates to nothing as well). We decided it was not going to be the New Years dinner we had hoped and left for a place that was able to accommodate a more inclusive, inviting NYE feeling. We may give this place another shot but definitely not for a special event. I will say this, I’m so happy our friends were unable to join us. I would have been mortified at the situation and ambiance.
Went on Veterans Day so maybe the "A" team was off but the food seemed re-heated rather than freshly prepared. The burgers were overdone and except for the fries the sides were inedible. Chicken tortilla soup tasted like canned tomato soup with a few pieces of chicken thrown in. On a positive note, our waitress was very good by being friendly but not overbearing.
Great food and a great place to watch football! The PB&J burger was amazing!
Really enjoyed the food. Lots of choices and the service was great.
We will definitely go back even though it is a distance from where we live - the service and the food made it worth the drive! The friendliest waitress we have ever had! Bravo to this restaurant --- a good buy and a fun time! Menu items were wide ranging and all delicious - any kind of diner would find something he/she wanted to eat - highly recommend.
We had dinner here for the first time and the service was great and the food was awesome!
Soo yummy!! Food was excellent and the service was perfect! Will be going back for anther date night with the hubby😍
We have always joked about getting the pig head, so for our son's birthday we ordered one. It was really outstanding! Enough for the six of us plus a couple of other items. It's a bit loud, but it's a tavern. They brought everything out at the same time which was a bit overwhelming (trying to situate things on the able), but overall a fun evening. Beers were better than the cocktails.
My friend and I came here with her 7 month old and had such a great tine! Drink we’re yummy food was awesome and the vibe was perfect for a chill catch up dinner with a friend
Really good food and nice atmosphere. The band was super. Unfortunately there wasn’t a very big crowd. We all need to patronize this fun establishment so that it doesn’t go under.
Our reservation was for 6:30 for 4 on a Friday. This was the first time we’ve ever been to this restaurant. Plenty of parking and the beautiful twisted oak tree in the back was a charming greeting. We arrived a little early and the couple we were meeting were already seated, so that was good. It was very busy and extremely noisy, but hey, it was Friday night at 6:30. Our waiter, Clint, was attentive, friendly and helpful. Wasn’t too crazy about the menu. My husband had the Stout Braised Short Ribs. The meat was a little dry, no sauce. The vegetables were undercooked and not tasty and the fries were thick with no crisp. I had the Ribeye steak sandwich with the cheddar sauce and the house salad on the side. All was delicious and filling. The other couple split the Romaine Wedge and the 12 oz Grilled Ribeye. They said it was all really good. They also enjoyed their beer which was Mama’s Little Yella Pils and Honey I’m Home. They really have an extensive bar menu. I can definitely see the attraction, especially with the 21-45 year old crowd.
Food was good. Drink were tasty and delicious. Service was very nice and friendly.
The service was outstanding! The food was amazing. We will definitely be back
The beer is good, the food pretty good. The vibe is pretty good.
Our waitress was a doll!! She has great recommendations.
Everything we ordered, entrees, wine, desserts were fantastic!
Love this place . They gave us a great table and the service was awesome! We will recommend this place to everyone.the food , drinks, beers were just perfect
You can’t give up an entire part of your menu [flatbreads) because one employee is out. And, you need to reel patrons in advance of seating them. The food was very good, but that was a mistake that will cause me not to come back
We went for my daughters 19th birthday. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. The food was great, and the waitress was helpful with our order. The buffalo cauliflower, Mac and cheese balls and the donut bread pudding were crazy good. My cosmopolitan was excellent as well. I would definitely go again.
Very delicious food and great selection of beer! Had an amazing time and will recommend to my friends/family. It was our first time visiting and were extremely pleased with the overall experience. The place is decorated very well and has a great vibe!
App and entree’s came out timely and hot and were delicious. I had a seasonal special item which I really enjoyed.
My brother in laws birthdau
Recently 9 of us with 5 kiddos total went for dinner. We made a reservation and the table was ready when we arrived. The server was fantastic and anticipated our needs and really went above and beyond for our kiddos. We would highly recommend this location. Excellent food and service!
Most awful place- despite having a reservation they could not let us sit there we suspect because of our kids we were discriminated against. Manager and hostess could not accommodate us despite seeing multiple open tables and despite the fact that we had a reservation. Will never return to this place again nor recommend it. Discrimination plus overbooking = greed- hostess agreed we should seek an alternate arrangement to dine at this evening never mind a reservation at this place! Lol.
Valentine’s Day Dinner was great, the food and service was great. They forced a high gratuity on the customers, I’m guessing they wanted to pay for the music that started too late.
Food and drinks were amazing. Definitely coming back to this spot
Very energetic atmosphere. Great waiter (Andy) and food was surprisingly good and consistent.
The food and atmosphere were good, great bar menu, but our waiter was almost non existent. There was a much larger table being served and I get that they needed a bit more service, but I was flagging anybody at one point just for some condiments.
Happy hour would probably be excellent. Those are my thoughts...
Great choice of local beers on tap, very creative menu, and excellent service.
We had hi hopes for this restaurant; we did not expect it to be as loud as it was. I liked my burger the others in my party did not like the food.
Service was great but the food and the beer were just OK. Wouldn’t go back.
Food was AWFUL. We actually left after telling our waiter. He offered to take some off our bill, but we declined because he did provide good service
The food was delicious and the service waa great! It’s awesome every time I come here. Love this place!
Bar fare at gastro-pub prices. Service was good, but ambiance and food were sub-par.
Great Food and fun place to go when you are in the area
Couldn't sit on the back patio because it was in use by a wedding group.
The noise level in side was too much for my husband, who is hearing deficient.
But we sat on the front patio, which was not noisy and enjoyed the evening. Both the food and the service were great! We'll go back soon.
Both food and service were average. Ambiance is very similar to other taverns, good beer selection, and reasonable prices. This is one restaurant that you could get a rattle snake and rabbit hot dog. In general not a restaurant that we would return to.
We were very pleased with the Twisted Oak. I had two of their house brewed beers, an IPA and a chocolate stout. Very delicious. The food was creative and very tasty. They weren’t very busy but we all felt that should change. Not a wide open, obvious location...which is perhaps why they didn’t appear to be doing as well as they should have been. Would absolutely recommend.
I would agree with many other reviews that the service is mediocre. My initial contact with the hostess left me confused. I gave her my name and that I had a reservation and without a word she left. A moment later another lady came over and said we could sit wherever we wanted. She was pleasant, gave us our menus and said she’d send our server over. She ended up taking our drink and food order. The staff seemed unorganized and uninterested in taking care of customers with much effort. We shared the roasted cauliflower, romaine wedge and short ribs. The food was good, but it’s not enough for me to recommend or return. I appreciate attentive staff and the restaurant is very loud even though it was not very crowded.
