Great Food. One of our 'Go To' restaurants in Scottsdale. Can't go wrong with Common Ground.
The food and service were wonderful -- fabulous drum fish, salmon and brussels sprouts. The only drawback to this place is the huge din of sound that hits you the minute you walk in, and makes it really hard to carry on a conversation during dinner.
The food was delicious and the service was very attentive.
Always a favorite!!
A nice, comfortable, low key neighborhood restaurant in McCormick Ranch that. Food was good (actually really good), drinks were strong, wine list was decent, service was steady (meaning they were there when we needed, paced the meal where we weren't rushed or left wondering what was taking so long). We sat out on the patio (requested that with our reservation). Would happily return for a repeat performance.
Food and drinks were good...service was disappointing. Not attentive, did not discuss the menu with us (many people there for the first time), not friendly, and very pushy with ordering. Forgot several drink orders. I only had one glass of wine, and she never asked if I’d like another. Had we been asked, we may have ordered a bottle or 2 for the table. We felt very pressured to order dinner...guests were still arriving, and had not even sat down or looked at a menu. We asked her to give us some time, and she came back every 2 minutes until we just gave up and ordered.
Kitchen was sold out of fresh fish of the day...before 7pm on a Friday. Had to send back the prime rib...other than that, the rest of the food was awesome. Manager brought out desserts of apology, and we appreciated his gesture. Lots of choices in Scottsdale to put up with bad service. We will be back for the food and the atmosphere. Lovely and understanding attitude of the manager was really appreciated by the whole table. Actually, he saved the day, and saved a pretty disappointed group! Thank you.
I have dined at Twisted Grove many times. Every single time we are seated at the same table next to the drafty door to the patio seating. I always request not to be seated there. This time there were many open booths but the hostess basically read us the riot act while changing our table. We could not sit there for more than 1 hour. We have no control on timing of the kitchen.
The waiter was very nice and the food was tasty. Made it out of there by 1 minute, I have no idea what would have happened if we didn’t! This restaurant is very unwelcoming
good food and service with great indoor and outdoor seating options.
Poor service. Hostess (short blond) standing at back of talking and a line up at the front door. Waited 1/2 hour before drink order taken. Another 1/2 hour before food order taken. Food is fabulous. A lot of staff seemed to be on training program.
The food was not as well prepared as usual. Salad portion a little on the small side. Bacon could have been cooked a little longer. The staff was very friendly and attentive.
Love the restaurant. Server was somewhat inattentive this time. Still a fun experience.
A wonderful experience. So glad we had a reservation! The food was excellent and the server (Trista, I think) was very knowledgeable and timed the service perfectly! We will definitely return. Thank you for making our special needs son's birthday dinner a success.
Server nice but not well informed .
Portions, the pasta specifically, VERY small.
We've been there twice and the food and service was excellent!
The brunch selection was very creative and delicious . Will go back in a heart beat
Love this place! The food is great, as is the service!
We had grilled artichokes, which were great. It’s not often you see artichokes other than in dip, or hearts, on a menu. The sauce with them was awesome. We also tried the crab Benedict, which was alright, but didn’t really stand out to either of us. The server was very pleasant as well.
It was my birthday and they had my friends and I wait half an hour, even with a reservation. They said it was because of the weather and having to move outdoor reservations in, a category which we didn’t fall under, but the weather had been bad all day and they had plenty of time to prepare. I would’ve rather gotten a call telling me they had to move my reservation than my friends and I standing there for half an hour waiting. They gave us a free appetizer to compensate for the wait, which they didn’t let us choose. It wasn’t vegetarian friendly and we had vegetarians at the table. Why give me a free appetizer for waiting if you’re not even going to let me choose it?
Great food, Great service but very, very, very noisy!
Our server was very attentive and helpful to me in navigating my food allergies and sensitivities which I greatly appreciated as eating out can be stressful. Our young boys devoured a Caesar salad and proclaimed the chicken fingers and honey mustard sauce as some of the best they'd ever eaten. My spinach and baby kale salad with bacon and a substituted chili-lime vinaigrette was satisfying and very tasty. My husband liked the market catch which happened to be swordfish with a side of risotto that evening, though the portion size was small. Dessert was a chocolate pie, shared by 2, and it was proclaimed one of the best desserts ever. As first timers, we had a great dining experience, though were frustrated by having to wait over 30 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. With 2 young and hungry kids, that was an unpleasant start to our dining experience. The hostesses did not seem particularly prepared for the ever-growing crowd of waiting patrons and did nothing to check on folks...an offer of water or providing a container for the many dripping umbrellas or offering additional seating in the cavernous entryway or ensuring the massive front door closed properly (it was very cold in the waiting area) would have gone a long way to starting off our experience.
We waited about 20 minutes after our reservation time. The staff did give us free appetizers and was very apologetic. The food was terrific!
I was a little disappointed in the food. I had raved to my guest about the grilled cheese appetizer . The first time they brought it, it was cold. I asked them to bring another order. It was just warm and not nearly as good as previous visits. Did the recipe change?
I eat here several times a month. The food is always tasty and dependable and comes with a lovely presentation. I brought some friends with me that had never been here before. They enjoyed it very much. Amoree recognize that I’ve been there several times and brought us a delicious appetizer. She said she realized you had to wait a little while to put our order in so this was on the house and she apologized for the delay. She was alert, attentive and helpful as well as our server.
First time out of town guests. Everything perfect except noise level
Very good food. A bit over-priced for what you get but just a bit.
Great salads and a good booth in the back where e could hear each other. Good experience. Would recommend.
Dissapointing food and lack of interest on the part of the server Maggie I believe
Eight of us from work selected Twisted Grove to celebrate 10 years of service for two members of our team. This location is convenient in relation to work, we all enjoyed our food choices and had the best waiter. We were all extremely pleased with our experience and to date have never been disappointed when dining at Twisted Grove
Get together with old friends
Well prepared food (meal and appetizers), reasonable happy hour prices, and our server was incredible!!
All food arrived hot and in good time. Waters and beverage refills were timely.
We keep coming back. The short ribs with gnocchi, as well as the brussel sprouts are dreamy.
We have visited the Twisted Grove several times, and keep going back. We enjoy the food, and the service is always excellent, as well. We would recommend it to anyone for a nice, yet casual dinner.
We have dined at Twisted Grove at least 5 times over the past few years and have never been disappointed. Only once was the noise level louder than we’d like, but our other experiences were great.
Great food. Great service. Really too loud to have a dinner conversation between 4 friends.
Normally have a great experience, however, we may have caught them at an odd time. First, had 6:15pm reservation for the patio. Arrived on time only to be told it would be an additional 20-30 minutes before our table would be ready. They did offer us a another table inside which worked okay. Service was great, per usual. Greeted quickly and drinks came out fast. Wife ordered the Twisted Noodle salad while I ordered the Prime Rib. What was odd was that the food arrived in (no kidding aside) 8 minutes which made us feel like they were attempting to serve quickly on this particular Friday night as to turn as many tables as possible. My wife’s salad was a bit soggy and my potatoes were slightly cold. Based upon that we could only deduce that both meals were pre-made in advance of the weekend rush. We will go back, but we will also question our order if it happens to come out that fast again.
5 for dinner. Started with flat bread and Brussels sprouts. Yummy. Entrees included salmon salad, pasta, and several orders of crab cakes. Delicious. Very nice service.
Too loud! We’ve enjoyed eating here 6-8 times and like the menu but the noise level was just too much. And sadly the service is not what it used to be. Still love the artichoke appetizer and the short rib entree. We may give it one more chance sitting in enclosed (plastic) patio with heaters.
The meal was outstanding and the service excellent!
