I start going into withdrawal if I can't get to Twist at least once a week! The entire staff have become like a second family to my husband and myself. I have never been the least disappointed in any dish I have eaten there. Kat is genius behind the bar and as the GM of the place. Chef Larry is just plain magic. I own a retail store in Scottsdale and I send all my customers to Twist!
Things I liked: Great food menu with reasonable prices, great drink menu, attentive staff, beautiful artwork displayed, general decor.
Things I didn't care for: Drink menu items were a bit pricey, the lamb in the gyro I had was over-cooked and chewy. The restaurant is a little noisy for easy conversation.
Amazing experience overall, server was a little too "In Your Face" when she did feel like sporadically coming around...
World class dinner from start to finish. Top quality ingredients and presentation. Attentive service and beautiful ambiance. This restaurant is a must visit and more.....
We didn't realize it was restaurant week! We chose Smoked Buffalo w/gnocchi and Tuna done Nicoise style. My husband loved the buffalo dish. The tuna was done perfectly but the dish itself was a little disjointed with too much raw onion. That being said, we hope that they include both dishes on their regular menu. This was also the second time that we had our server, Nick. He is very attentive and makes sure we have everything we need!
My wife and I have dined here a couple of times now. The first time we shared several tapas and were happy with all of our choices. Our most recent visit was during AZ Restaurant Week and the food was excellent! This is rapidly becoming a go-to favorite of ours.
This is a hidden gem in a strip mall. We went for restaurant week and was looking forward to trying different items and were not disappointed. My child ordered the buffalo, and while I personally don't like game animals, it was so tender and juicy and did not have a gamy taste. Waitress explained the various dishes, and showed good pacing on service and watching when we needed wine and water refills. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and look forward to dining there again.
Twist has an imaginative menu and executes it very well. All the food we ordered was delicious. Service was outstanding— informative, friendly but not hovering. The owner came to every table to ask how everything was and thanked us for coming. We heard every table say the same very positive things that we were saying.
The staff wears masks — properly — and does a great job.
The only thing that could be improved is providing a bit more privacy from the parking lot; but times are tough and we definitely appreciated the outside dining option.
Great neighborhood place.
Restaurant menu was excellent. Aggressive and bold choices for the special menu, and flavors were very good.
Great service and food was delicious! Looking forward to our next visit!
We sat at the bar and had great service from the bartender. Food was excellent.
Innovative menu, great execution. Absolutely outstanding.
Limited, very different menu. Even though there were only 4 tables of patrons, the bar had more people (not properly social distancing) who were very noisy making it difficult for the table patrons to hear. This was the 2nd time we had been at Twist and had the same experience. Service was good but don't think we will return.
We had a great meal. Love sharing small plates. Our server was so nice and the owner came over and chatted with us for a bit. Finally a fun and delicious place up in my area!
The food and ambience were great. The service is outstanding!
Good food, service, cost and ambiance. Love Twist Bistro!
Great server and refreshing unique menu choices !
Love this new little neighborhood gem! Interesting menu and good service.
Love this new restaurant. Just what North Scottsdale needs.
Our first time at Twist and we were so glad we gave it a try! The food was very good, the service was great and the atmosphere was delightful! This is clearly going to be one of our ‘go-to’s’!
Food was outstanding. They just opened in May so I gave them a break on the service. Example, the main antree came out when our table was full of empty appetizer plates
Great food and great service. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
This is our new "regular" place. Food is always delicious, we just love the young man who waits on us, and great relaxed but elegant atmosphere. Recommend.
this was our first time here. Very nice spot. The menu while not extensive had quite a number of interesting and attractive choices - almost every one had a bit of a twist from the traditional item. Could that be the name? Anyway, it was a nice place, and we will certainly be back.
The meatballs appetizer was fabulous.
Chicken and dumplings were amazing. My husband had the filet mignon he loved it.
We like the atmosphere here, as well as the food. Feels like there's a fairly loyal group of patrons, in spite of their opening so recently, and the bar is usually a fun place to drink and dine. On this visit, we were in the dining room, and I will say that the service was not up to the level we have had at the bar. But the food was good as always. The burrata appetizer is a really nice starter to share. Hubby always gets the shrimp and sausage diablo, and this time I had the grilled chicken sandwich with a side salad. Too much food, but the other half of my sandwich traveled home quite well.
We decided try out Twist Bistro having seen their ad and menu online. We used Open Table to book an outside table for Sunday morning. Even thought it's hot now, we prefer not to use indoor eating facilities at this point in the pandemic. The beignets, which was the attraction in the first place, were excellent. They did not disappoint. The Italian omelet was excellent also, although the biscuit that was to accompany it was forgotten. (And frankly, after the beignets, very unnecessary anyway). No one else was sitting outside, again because of the weather, but there was a breeze and it was fine. There was a decent number of customers inside, but only 1 waiter on, hence the service rating issue. He was a good guy, but just a bit overwhelmed. Overall the food was very good.
Understandable food with a "Twist." Great flavor along with great service!
My first visit to Twist. It was delicious! A great addition to the restaurant scene. Food was unique but not over reaching in its preparation.
The deserts were fab. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly but not intrusive.
Definitely will visit again soon
Great first impression! The menu had surprising variety. Nice combination of entrees and small plates/tapas, along with sandwiches, apps and desserts, with plenty of selections for all appetites. We had lamb sirloin and salmon entree which were prepared perfectly, with unique and flavorful sides to complement. Moderate prices for what is higher-end fare and good portions. Service was outstanding; not only did our server spend just the right amount of time checking on us, but the owner and bartender made a round or two to say hi. And dispite it being early on a Tuesday in late July in Scottsdale and mid-COVID, the place was at (social distance) capacity by 6:30p. But still a mellow vibe.... and interesting decor. (The word-of-mouth that brought us in must be having an effect.) We'll be back to try the many other dishes we almost ordered. Bon appetit!
Our first visit, but definitely not our last! I had the Filet Mignon Provençal and it was outstanding! My husband had the Shrimp and Sausage Diablo. He said the shrimp and sausage were cooked perfectly, but the dish was way too spicy for him. It was his fault for not inquiring before ordering. He also loved my meal, so will try another dish next time. Also, the Grapefruit & Basil Martini was delicious!
Had a wonderful evening. Thank you! :-)
Service was excellent and ambiance was very good. I thought value for price point was average. I tried the chicken with dumplings (gnocchi) and was very disappointed. The chicken itself was good; the cheese sauce was definitely not to my taste. Others in my party enjoyed their stuffed pepper and lamb dish, respectively. I really hope this restaurant does well - the owners seem to be quite experienced and talented. The menu perhaps needs some more mainstream dishes. Also, we tried the beignets - those were great.
Twist Bistro is an appropriate name. The chef changes up traditional dishes: Gnocchi and meatballs with the meat balls being prepared from Wild Boar. Lox instead of bagels flatbread is used. The best small biscuits and butter I have ever had. The spices used are original and unique. Hand crafted house cocktails are excellent. My wife and I had a great dinner. This was our first visit but will not be our last.
Great food, atmosphere and service. The bar noise was loud at times like most restaurants with bars and dining close.
Small and intimate still managed to keep good distance between guests. Food was great lots to choose from we will be back
Excellent experience. We had a reservation and were seated right away. Our server, Nick, was great and the food was amazing.
Very nice people, creative menu, attentive service, high quality food, well prepared.
An absolutely outstanding little gem. First rate, inventive dishes with a slight Mediterranean flair. The rolls with honey butter are to die for. The appetizers are creative and delicious. We often just have small plates. The main courses have something for everyone.
This place was a very successful restaurant in Colorado before relocating here (to be near the grandkids). We're very lucky to have such an exceptional neighborhood place.
They are adhering to the CDC guidelines for the wait staff. Wait staff is friendly and attentive. food is very good. Definitely will come back.
