We sat outside. The umbrella did’nt work and wouldn’t go up. It partially obstructed the my view of the person opposite me. It should of been removed.
First visit will be last. Drinks: when u get served a carafe of simple syrup with a drink there is something wrong. Appetizer: half of it was warm and the other half cold. Something isn’t right there (I say microwave). On to dinner (lol): fish was cooked “ok” but the rest of the entree was salted like my kids cooked it or an extremely hungover morning meal (terrible). Service: they had no idea what was going on let alone tended to us and this was sitting at the bar. Never again!!!
Found this listed on the Restaurant week in Phoenix area and though the menu looked very interesting as well as the bristo itself. The restaurant and french/american food items were delicious and very interesting. Will go back soon
Twist is the kind of independent boutique restaurant that locals need to support. The menu is innovative -- every dish has "a twist." The setting is stylish and features a rotating collection of local artists. We went for the Restaurant Week special and everything we had was bursting with flavor. The servers are very friendly and treated us like, well, friends. This was my third or fourth visit. For my money this is the best restaurant in upper North Scottsdale!
Service was terrible, drinks came out wrong to table. Was charged for a double.
Wait staff if slow and forgetful.
Biscuits were burnt and my entree was black burnt on top . The chef came to the table dripping sweat and dirty to say he didn’t see my plate leave the kitchen .
Definitely will not me back
The food was excellent. The service was exceptional. Will definitely be back regularly & will be recommending to all my friends and family.
Love this little neighborhood spot! And the new menu is really good.
The location and atmosphere are great. Service was a little slow due to a staffing shortage. Just need to be patient and understanding. It will be well worth it. The drinks, appetizers and main course was unbelievable. The flavors are outstanding. Recommend everything on the menu. Can’t wait to go back!
Phenomenal! Three of us ordered 15 different items off the menu. We are super foodies. Everything we ate was 5-star by any perspective. The selections were fresh, well crafted, and super fun! Do yourself a favor and go there hungry so you can enjoy many items. Even items ordered by others at my table that I would rarely order were amazing. In the end, we shared everything. Hell, I’d go back just for the biscuits. And, they are included with your dinner. Additionally, the service and environment are upscale casual. That means you can wear shorts and experience the finest of cuisines. Needless to say, we are going back. We are already trying to think of who we can take to Twist next weekend.
Great little find in North Scottsdale/Care Free...will definitely be back
Wonderful food and a really great red head bartender 😉
Excited to try this place for the first time. Sad that a lot of what we ordered, they were out of. What we ate was good hopefully the next time will be better.
Everything was very good. Waitress was slightly over-loaded with tables but other people there chipped in to serve us.
Made a reservation for Twist Bistro as a result of some very positive reviews. When viewing the menu I saw that it served dished with a Mediterranean "twist" which we were really looking forward to. When we arrived we discovered that they had just changed their name (to Twist American Grill) and their menu. The appetizers we had were pretty good - mushroom crepes and a crab dish. But one of our meals was just awful - the buffalo sandwich. The other meal was a salad and that was actually very delicious. Our waitress was not apologetic that the Mediterranean meals we had expected to order were no longer on the menu and pretty much shrugged it off. The place was VERY loud - the room could use some better accoustic tiles so that you can hear your party talk! Overall, this place is good, but not great.
The food was delicious! Will definitely go back again.
Although understaffed, you knew about it going in because of the sign on the door. The service was still excellent. The server was attentive and informative. We appreciated all she did for us.
Stopped in for Mid-afternoon Happy Hour. Nice small plate menu - and some interesting beverages selections. Hand crafted cocktails were tasty. Hummus was quite good - but garlic stayed with us for the rest of the evening!
This a wonderful find. Great unique food, great service, and a good value. We will most definitely return for more.
Food is excellent. Interesting combinations well prepared and flavored. Service was good if a little rushed. Friendly and well meaning.
I like the mid Eastern flavors and combinations. There are several America Grille restaurants in the area. Your food provides a pleasant alternative to these. I was sorry to see on the door that you are bending to that style. Each time I’ve eaten here I have ordered the shared plates and was given no serving spoon with which to “share”the food. I should have asked when ordered but think when told the food would be shared it would be obvious that a serving utensil be provided. Also during the evening hours it is a bit noisy.
Awesome little spot! Family run and they really care about their customers and their food! We met the whole family and the chef, had a great time. We will be back!
Outstanding restaurant in North Scottsdale! My wife and I have been here numerous times and the quality of ingredients and the consistency of preparation are on point. Today we both had the Filet Mignon Provençal which were both cooked to a perfect medium. The combination of the cabernet jus with the grilled artichoke, confit tomatoes, braised greens and the garlic mashed potatoes is an unbelievable culinary combination. Warm, made from scratch biscuits, compliments of Chef Larry, are always the perfect start to a meal at Twist Bistro. I would literally come here just for these! Nick, our server the last few times, was friendly, prompt, and very knowledgeable about the food and drinks on the menu. Definitely give this place a try…you will not be disappointed.
Ate here for restaurant week. It was my second time. Both times the food was really good. The dinner rolls are reason enough to come here. Even though the wait staff is still working out the kinks, they make up for any snafus by acknowledging it and providing attentive service. I’ll definitely be back. I hope that the quality of the dishes stays high and the prices reasonable.
Food was delicious and service was awesome
The person who was supposed to be our waitress ignored us pretty much the entire time but then another waiter came to serve us and he was amazing! Stellar service! I love it when restaurants bring out bread and butter without it costing us anything and wow! Best bread and butter I’ve ever had in my life! Seriously fantastico!! The presentation and taste of our meals were beyond extraordinary! Definitely coming back to this place! Super easy to get to as well!
Restaurant week menu looked amazing. The food however appeared to have been made at the beginning of the week so by sat night it tasted like bad reheated frozen dinner. The Buffalo ravioli was cold in the middle and the steak that said it was Wagu was tough so it either wasn’t or it was poorly prepared. It was definitely not a good value and most accurately compared to an Applebee’s meal. To top it off we got to enjoy the sounds of the hostess and waitress discuss a patron that wanted to move tables. How much work it was to rearrange the reservations, which they also felt the need to disclose to those patrons. Will definitely not return.
Pleasantly surprised at the level of quality of food at this restaurant. Quantities were also good, especially given that it was restaurant week. Unfortunately, they overbooked, and we had to sit at the bar instead of a table, which would have been preferable, but bartender took care of us well. Overall a good experience. Have already recommended to friends.
Have had delicious dinners here before, but the Restaurant Week dinner last night was fantastic. The chef/owner has amazing creations and "twists" on common fare. The biscuits and butter are quite special.
If you are hard of hearing, sitting inside is difficult. The flooring, ceiling, walls, while very pretty reverberate the voices of people talking
The food and service are fabulous. Ask for Nick. He was great.
Came here for AZ Restaurant Week to try some place new. Small space with a pretty high noise level. Our server, Britley, was very nice and kept the courses coming at an appropriate pace. My husband had a Dos Equis Amber which came with an $8 price tag. My Italian red wine was $13 so the drinks are steep. First course was the raviolo and the tomato tart. Hubby loved the raviolo and I loved the tart. Unfortunately they had already run out of my first choice, the scallops, by 6:15. Hmmm, kinda strange since that was on their restaurant week menu. We both had the marinated hangar steak with garlic mash and asparagus. The steak was very good and flavorful. The rest was good but not great. Both of us loved the Boozy Peach Cobbler for dessert. We were glad to try someplace new and give the restaurant economy a boost but probably won't make a return trip due to the high prices and the noise level.
Food was good & different unique options than what we are usually offered at other area restaurants. Unfortunately, they need more help & it detracts from the overall experience.
This is a cute, small restaurant in north Scottsdale with a patio out front, in a strip mall type of setting. We sat inside, and were given a table in a high traffic area. This was a spot I would say should not have had a table while the patio was in use as staff were constantly passing close behind us to enter the patio. It was too much traffic and made the atmosphere less cozy and more casual than the vibe I think they wanted. The restaurant week menu looked so good online so we wanted to try it. Of note it was different from their regular menu with only one or so crossover items. Overall the food was okay, most all were heavy on the salt for me. Still, the menu was creative and glad we tried it. They offered homemade biscuits at the start that were very good with a sweet herb butter. These were great. We ordered cocktails and they were okay but not special for the price, ours ranged from $16-$18. They did not seem too busy with several open tables , though the movement through courses seemed rushed. Usually our dishes were not cleared before the next course arrived by a food runner. I'm glad we tried it, I'd not rush back.
Walleye was wonderful, waitstaff attentive. Presentation of food creative. Recommend changing silverware between courses.
The food was delicious and the Arizona restaurant week menu really fun and creative.
The food was much too salty. The best part were the roll/pastry type foods, but the peach pie had not much more than a taste of the peaches.
A great place to dine
Small and pretty open but nice inside.
Solid menu food and service.
I would go back.
Food is excellent! Noise level is ridiculous! The restaurant was packed to capacity with only one bartender. It took at least 30 mins to get our martinis. But wow, excellent food!
Excellent food. Amazing atmosphere. .
Found Twist from Arizona Restaurant Week list. Great choices from menu. Friendly service.
A dining pleasure. Excellent food with super service. Unfortunate that the outdoor dining area looked out over the parking lot.
