Twin Owls Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I are on our honeymoon and before departing for Denver we wanted to enjoy a nice, intimate dinner, Twin Owls knocked it out of the park! The food was amazing, and our server Natasha was very attentive and always had a smile on her face! When we vacation in Estes Park again we will definitely return to the Two Owls!!!
This is probably my 10th visit to Twin Owls and I come here about every other time I come to Estes. Service is always great but the food can be spotty from year to year. I generally go with the elk medallions because it is their signature dish and it is always very good - order on the rare side of medium rare for the best flavor - really delicious. My wife had the short ribs which were surprisingly dry; kind of a hard dish to dry out. We had a little on with us this time and she was well cared for. One of the best atmospheres for dining in Estes - beautiful open dining room with lodge pole frame and a nice fireplace and great windows - it seems it is always snowing when we eat here and it is truly beautiful during your meal!
We enjoyed our dinner at Twin Owls Steakhouse immensely. The ambiance was quiet and romantic. The restaurant looks like a log cabin with a big fireplace in the center of the dining room. There was a musician playing guitar quietly through dinner which was lovely. We arrive early to have a drink at the bar and the bar setup is really my only complaint. The bar is tiny and there aren't really any stools so we had to stand and there wasn't much room. Other than that, everything was great. The wine selection and menu were wonderful. I had the ravioli and tortellini and my husband had a steak. We ordered the dessert trio which was also delicious. The service was excellent and our server(whose name I can't remember) was professional. We will definitely go back next time we're in Estes Park!
WOW! My husband and I had a wonderful time at Twin Owls Steakhouse. From the moment we walked in, till the time we left it was a wonderful experience. The food was excellent, and our server recommended great appetizers and dinner. Will be returning on our next visit to Estes Park.
I was really disappointed in the service, and food. I heard raging reviews about this steakhouse, and how the service and food are excellent. However, both steaks that were ordered were SEVERLY undercooked. The plates were messy, and I had to ask the waitress twice before she brought me a refill on my drink. The only good thing about the experience was the bread.
Food and service was very good. But after considerable research to find special valentine dining experience during a special trip to Colorado we got stuck in an overflow dining room. This room lacked any ambience. While the main dining that was exclusively featured on their website that had live guitarist and spectacular views we had staticky bar music and car headlights in our eyes. There were no flowers no special valentines decorations, simply seemed they opened area to accommodate extra guests. In hind sight seems hostesses hand picked who got seated in main dining room and who got relegated to the back room. Given we spent $200 for a couple and that we made this reservation weeks in advance we are sorely disappointed in the experience especially since we planned in advance. Shame on Twin Owls for treating us this way. They simply misrepresented their establishment and Valentines Day experience.
Appetizer (Baked Brie) was aweful, tasteless and undercooked. The Rib Eye steak was thin and over cooked, the potatoes were dried and other veggies were just ok. This is NOT a high-end cuisine restaurant or a steakhouse as they advertise it.
The wine list was pretty decent, I selected a bottle of Bordeaux 2010.
I would never go back to this restaurant.
This was our first trip to Twin Owls and we will be back! We were celebrating my husbands birthday and the service was wonderful - was wished Happy Birthday by all. They gave us a table overlooking the dining room which was beautiful. The food was fantastic - from the bread and olive oil mix to the bacon wrapped scallops and finally the bison steak my husband had to the elk medallions that I enjoyed. And there was live guitar music playing the whole time!! It was a great evening and again we will be back!
We took some friends from out of town here because it is such a special place. Appetizers were wonderful. French onion soup....exquisite. The scallops were awesome as were the elk tips. Everyone had steaks but myself. I tried the polenta/portabella dish but it was very disappointing. The flavors just did not meld together as I hoped. The presentation was also unappetizing. I should have known to order meat at a steakhouse. This will not deter us from bringing guests to enjoy Twin Owl at all. One of our favorite places in Estes.
Came here on a Fri nite for my husband's b/day. Expected better for $97 plus tip for dinner for two. Husband's prime rib was good; my roasted duck not. Bing cherry compote was fried to a curdle and duck was dry. My veggies looked good but they were cold. Our French Onion soup tasty. Place wasn't full so we were disappointed to be seated near the woman's bathroom. Table wobbled; tried to fix it ourselves, no could do. Management: you might want to fix that table. We did give the full 20 percent tip to our nice waitperson; she shouldn't be penalized for a somewhat lackluster dinner. Grade: B-
Mixed. I would give it 4 stars overall but my steak was average and under cooked even after describing to the server how I wanted it prepared. Had to send it back. Even cooked to my taste it was an average steak. Other aspects of the meal where fine. But the centerpiece of the meal disappointed. It is a "Steak House" so the expectation is high for the main course.
