Twin Owls Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
I love this place. One of my favorites. It is in Estes Park, CO. We come every time we are in Estes. The building is a large log home. Just gorgeous. My drink was very inventive & good. I had the MacGregor filet. Melt in your mouth steak. The seasonings & sauce were a taste sensation. My husband had the bison new York strip. He said it was very good & tender. I highly recommend this restaurant. Bon apetit!
We were looking forward to our dinners! I ordered the elk medallions and my wife ordered the ribeye. The elk was fine, maybe a little overdone. My wife was looking forward to her favorite steak .. she could not eat it. Half inch thick And mostly grissle! Very disappointed! She loved the potatoes however .Service was good but the food was below a average for other places we have been! Way overpriced for what we had. Not going back and not recommending!
We had a wonderful steak dinner here to celebrate my husbands birthday. Started with the duck and the Brie appetizers. Most of us got the ribeye with delicious veggies and roasted potatoes. My daughter got the prime rib. All were delicious and cooked to perfection. Great special occasion restaurant with a cozy feel yet still family friendly. Would definitely return next time we are back in Estes Park
From appetizers to desserts, the very best cuisine you could wish for.
A bit pricey, however, every bite was worth every penny. The only negative was a table with 2 toddlers that had active screaming vocal cords. For fine dining such as Twin Iwls, there should be separate enclosed areas for families with toddlers. We love our children & Grandchildren, that is why we leave them with reputable sitters
Our visit to Twin Owls started off a bit rocky. We waited over 15 minutes for a server to come to our table. It took my husband going to the front desk to ask if we had a server to get someone to take care of us. After that they went out of their way to make it an enjoyable evening for us. We both got the Elk medallions which were excellent. The wine selection was great. We were seated at a cozy, romantic table in the upstairs.
Horricific service. I informed the restaurant it was my wife and I'd wedding anniversary. They hooked me up by sitting us next to the bathroom. Immediately after a served dropped a dirty fork on my wife's foot...never came back to get it or acknowledge what happened. The waiter didn't understand me say we were ready to order, made for an awkward exchange (not the waiters fault) but it seemed after that exchange he just gave up on us. Never refilled out drinks, never checked on satisfaction with food or asked if we needed anything. This was a problem because my medium stake was blood raw. So I sat there for 15 minutes while my wife ate her mean and my $36 meal sat I front of me inedible. Fine the angered checked on me and had the meal cooked again. Then my wife got to watch me eat. It's was a terrible dining experience. Clearly they the servers did not care about my business. Won't ever be going back. The food was high quality but the service destroyed it.
We were there for our 47th anniversary...would have given us champagne but we don't drink. Gave us dessert instead. We had 2 different appetizers and the French Onion soup. All was excellent. Had the bison ribeye...again very very good. The service was outstanding. We will be back...just for an evening out. We won't order as much as we had plenty to take home. The prices are high but we thought it was worth it. Give it a try and.you won't be disappounted.
Everything about our visit was amazing. Starting with the chance viewing of 6 elk as we turned in. We were seated right away. Our server was prompt and very nice. We had the appetizer for two. It was wonderful. I usually don't venture far from my normal menu but I tried the elk tips . I can't say enough about how tender they were. The dipping sauce for the elk was perfect. The amount was just right too, not too much to fill you up. My husband had the elk medallion and I had the duck for our entree. Both were wonderful. We skipped the desserts. The service for us was just the right amount of attention. I will tell everyone we know that is going to Estes Park about the Twin Owls Steakhouse. We will be back!
We dined at the restaurant while on vacation at Estes Park. The elk medallions were excellent and the scallops were some of largest, most tender we have ever had. Great beeer and wine selection. Service was top-notch, the decor wonderful, and the views spectacular. Menu items were a little pricey but this was a special occasion so didn't mind spending a bit more.
We set up a reservation online 1 day early and only open times were around 5pm and then 8pm and later. We chose 8 pm and had a marvelous Appetizer for Two, a bottle of wine (I'm more of a beer drinker-but anniversary for wife took precedence. Several beers to choose from though). Then the main course of Elk Medallions (me) and the Filet McGregor (wife) were both Outstanding! The place was on the loud, boisterous type of fun atmosphere. No issue for us-we had a great conversation without having to talk loud, but if looking for quiet, don't go during their busiest times. Staff was engaging and knowledgeable. Highly recommend, good value for the money.
Been there several times because of the atmosphere and food! We were disappointed in the hostess out front(She is the first person one sees when coming in) and should greet people and be overly pleasant!! Also, our server only checked on us once!! The man who brought our food and the man who kept our water full and cleared the table were great!!! Maybe a rough night or new people!!! We will be back!!
A visit to Ft. Collins/Loveland always requires the senic 37 mile drive up beautiful Big Thompson Canyon to Estes Park and Black Canyon for the most amazing dining experience in ALL of Colorado! Everything is done right at Twin Owls Steak House. Set in Black Canyon, the scenery is amazing! But the food is even better. Service is 5 star. The menue isn't overly omplex. Every item on the menue is excellent. The owners are hands on; the evening we dined there, the owner served us our food. Highly reccomendstay for casual classic dinning
