Once you have experienced going, you won't be able to stop yourself from returning again, and again.
It was a lovely experience, haven't been here in years and was attracted back by the sakura tea menu. Very kind of the chef to accommodate us and serve us the menu earlier. Food was dainty and prepared very well, the tea was exquisite.
Enjoyed a birthday lunch there. Service was friendly and attentive.
Love their food the atmosphere and service were great
Went for Easter brunch. Got seated in a dark back room with nobody else around, while the front of house was light and airy and halfway empty. Unclear why we had to be in the dingy back space. The tea selection is amazing; all the teas we tried in our party of 3 were wonderful and tasty. The Easter tea set menu sounded delightful but was barely serviceable -- the savory part was OK though very small; the sweet part was non-existent: one macaron and 5 stale pathetic pieces of fruit. My husband ordered off the regular breakfast menu and his Eggs Benedict were fine. Overall, disappointed in the food.
Food was very good. Service was exceptional. Servers were very attentive and patient with our lovely 3 year old companions who left quite a mess on our table. :)
Wonderful as always. The waitress was very accommodating and friendly! My favourite spot for afternoon tea.
The tea sets are beautiful and their scones are simply out of this world! The server we had (didn’t get her name but she’s Asian and super information) was super helpful and very friendly and pleasant, one of the better services I’ve had recently, will definitely be back to try their breakfast, lunch and dinner!
Went for afternoon tea, good food, excellent tea but very slow service. Took almost 20 minutes to get and pay for the bill. Once I received the bill and gave my credit card, I had to wait approximately 10 more minutes for the server to bring the machine. I do love TWG tea but the food service didn't amaze me.
Recommended to me by a friend. It was a great experience. Our server was a young man who was very polite, knowledgeable, welcoming and just a delight. My daughter and I enjoyed the Sakura Set. Face it, it’s pricey yet I’ll definitely go back for a special occasion. I loved the sablefish and other savory bits.
Afterwards we shopped in the tea shop. That experience was not as nice. We should have stopped with the wonderful dining experience.
You don't ask if a customer wants bread for a Foie gras (which is part of the overpriced salad), - you bring the bread even if nobody is going to eat it. You don't say that you have to order 2 pots of tea (one per person) if your customers are ordering lunch (not only a tea). You don't take an order for macaroons and then bring different kind saying that you don't have the ones that were ordered . You have to know what is available at the time of the order, and if it is so happened that the macaroons were suddenly unavailable , you apologize and bring the other one for free or at least ask wich one your customer wants as opposed to bringing your own choice and charging for it.
I love foie gras, but I would not order it again at TWG. Very soapy tast....
My husband loved the Lunar New Year tea set but I liked the sweets part of the tea set. Will definitely go back and try just the traditional and everyday tea set.
Served well, never disappointed. Great staff, wanting to make it a positive memorable occasion.
Our server, Lucas, was very knowledgeable about the different teas and also provided us with great customer service. Please pass my thanks to him.
I can’t begin to explain how disappointing our experience was today at TWG. There were 4 of us there to celebrate two birthdays. The restaurant itself was not crowded. It took an hour to get our food. We all ordered the same high tea which included ONE cooked item. The rest were dessert items that would have been already prepared! Every time we attempted to make eye contact with a server it was next to impossible. Our tea pots were NEVER
I cannot praise this lovely Tea Salon enough. We arrived at 3:30 in the afternoon and were glad we had reservations . The salon is beautiful with beautiful dishes and food. The food and tea were certainly delicious. However, the staff are the real standouts at this establishment. They are all obviously passionate about tea and hoping to inspire that same passion in their diners. We’re curious people, so we asked many questions. They seemed thrilled to answer our questions and give us as much information as we wanted. I can only imagine how many questions they receive every day; however, they treated us like the very first customers who ever needed to be “schooled” in tea. I highly recommend TWG Tea Salon if you are looking for a casual but lovely tea experience.
Loved this place and their service !
Server was rude and got our orders wrong a few times. Tried to clear our plates before we were done; and did not provide us with the right cutlery.
She rushed us for the Payment as well and interrupted our meal multiple times.
Will not recommend.
Elegant surroundings offer an extensive tea list and friendly, knowledgeable staff are able to assist in making good choices. This place is a real gem and well worth a visit when you are looking for that place to make you feel special. I enjoyed the chic afternoon tea with exquisite
flavours on my plate and in my cup, a feast for the senses with beautiful classical music playing softly in the background.I would highly recomend a visit.
Amazing service !
It was a very nice experience. I'm amazed with how many tea and the quality that they offer. The lobster bisque is outstanding and very good value. I would go there again just for that.
Good ambience. Although there was a wide variety of tea on the tea menu, when you order, most of them are out of stock. There were over 15 types of Earl Grey listed on the tea menu, but only one was available for ordering . Same for Darjeeling. Quite a disappointment.
Everything about our visit to TWG was fabulous. From the selection of teas to the delicious food to the truly amazing service, our entire experience was perfect in every way. The “icing on the cake” was how Brady, our server, and Tom, the owner, went above and beyond to make the event even more special. We highly recommend to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience in the city.
Great staff. They know their teas and take pride in the concept. Many different dining options, all well thought out and explained. Plenty of fare for those not in love with the idea of a "tea", but the Chic tea option was very enjoyable.
Staff seemed overwhelmed by holiday crowd. But would definitely go back. Great place for tea connoisseurs
This was fun for all of us even the 2 young grand girls. Will come back again.
TWG has excellent service. Our server has great knowledge with all the tea and manual. It's a bit on the expensive side but given it's environment and service, it's totally worth it. Worth going back for special occasions in the future.
Beautiful set up in the store and the canapés are always amazing. However, I'm surprised that scone is not included in the tea set. A lot of teas was out of stock at our visit which was disappointing. But we greatly appreciate that we were not rushed though the place got busy. Most other tea places set a sitting time during busy hours.
Great service as always. Amazing food and large portion. Worth the price. I recall they didn't use to charge for a second pot of tea but now they will even with the full tea set menu.
Fantastic romantic lunch and tea. Great place to go for a special event, anniversary, or intimate occasion with a special someone.
Made a reservation days in advance but was taken to an empty seating area in the back. When I asked to be moved to the front I was accommodated but was told the tables up front were reserved for another party. Those tables remained empty while we dined. Didn’t receive check in a timely manner and had to get up and ask that it be brought to the table. Food is delicious, presentation is beautiful.
We ordered the tea sets as they had been recommended per other reviews. Truly, though while they tasted alright and were exceptionally displayed (gorgeous presentation), some of the seafood items were too "fishy" for me and I guess I prefer the typical high tea which might include scones at least. I do appreciate the uniqueness, but it wasn't enough to satisfy my 16 year old for the $48 dollars. The location is beautiful, but if compared to the more traditional Empress Hotel type high tea, we found it wanting. If one is looking for a more unique type tea set, this is a good place to try.
Forcing to leave
I love twg tea, but this location had extremely slow, disorganized service. Will not be returning to the tea salon.
We were interested in their Christmas Tea Set. Very creative and festive. With a playful twist. We enjoyed the sweets. The savouries were quite rich. Which were plenty. The tea was X-mas in a cup. Once again we had great service from Conrad. Hoping I have the name right.
Food and tea were excellent. Service not so great. Was never given a menu to start with. After 10 mins of waiting, one of the waiter came and asked to see if we have any questions and realized then that we did not get the menu.
Always our favourite place for afternoon tea. Love this place
Great ambiance; Festive afternoon tea menu was good. Very extensive tea list (a bit overwhelming) and it's hard to choose the tea just be looking at the list. Wish there was a better way to pick than reading the tea menu and taking the server's advice. The retail area of the tea room only has select ones out for sniffing and checking out, but the server told me not all of the teas in the show room area were available for the tea room. Not sure why that would be.
We expected a lovely afternoon high tea here with a long-time friend whom we hadn't seem for a couple of years -- but it didn't happen. First of all, except for S. African Rooibos, there are no herbal teas on the menu. None. Not being able to drink caffienated drinks, 2 of us had water. 2 of the 3 little tea sandwiches were dry (chicken, smoked salmon) though the egg was tasty. The scones were on the dry side. Scones served with whipped cream, not thick creame, though the jelly was good. All the pastries were suffused with caffeine in one way or another and that detracted from their light, delicate flavor. Very pricey for the quality one does not yet. The setting is lovely, but we would never return nor recommend.
