TWG Tea Salon & Boutique Ratings and Reviews
The ambiance was beautiful and you feel like you’ve walked into a European cafe. However the food options were limited and many items on the menu were not available. Our server didn’t notify us that breakfast is only served until 11:30, and Came to take our order at 11:35...
Once we finally got our food, no one was blown away by the taste. We left feeling hungry and disappointed
I was there for my birthday! We made reservations but we arrived a bit early because the high tea food and beverage meal was so vast so many items to choose from. We chose different separate set tea tasting menus. It's great because you can High Tea by yourself, most tea rooms require two people. Our server was pleasent. Very knowledgable about the tea menu and had great recommendations. She was quite patient and unatrusive . we never felt rushed we were there for 3hours trying different teas , macaroons and crepes. It's super fun!
TWG never disappointed me! In addition to their abundant tea choices, their food is comparable to those of restaurants in 5-star hotels. After visiting here many many times, I just found that they can cook everything. You can always find new stuffs in their seasonal menu.My friends and I visited here on oct 1st for their limited mooncake. The mooncake set was a liitle expensive; about 56 per person, but only one mooncake was offered per two sets ordered. So we ordered two mooncake sets and ordered two extra mooncakes for 25 each. (Amazing that they had Okonomiyaki in this set......)Also, since it was the first day in october, we had the chance to try their october special set. In that menu they offered duck breast as the main course. I never knew that duck breast could be so delicious when it was cooked like steak! Duck breast had become my alternative choice for steaks after then.
Great selection of tea and had lots of help by our server to pick one. Felt rushed when our server asked us about our dessert selection when one more person was finishing her savoury dish, but she was still very polite and friendly it did not bother us. Was not impressed by their wagyu, but the tempura zucchini flower was delicious
Amazing food and service. This place blew me away. Very pleased with this choice to take my wife here. Being from England she knows a thing or two about high tea and was very impressed. She already wants to go back tomorrow to try some other teas and other items from the food menu!
I visited TWG with a friend for high tea over the weekend, and had a pretty good experience overall. I really liked how we were both able to get different Tea Set menus, since most I've been so far expects everyone at the table to get the same thing. She got the West Coast Tea Set and I got the Jubilee Tea Set. The food here was all well made, and they offer one of the largest tea selections I've seen for high tea. All staff here were extremely courteous and provided excellent service. We didn't have to wait long for anything, and the staff were knowledgeable in the different teas to make recommendations based on your taste preferences. I would definitely go back to try more of their menus.
Two of us went there. Set menu can be shared by two people so it's like about 25/per person. Should be enough food unless someone's really hungry, but as afternoon tea it's perfectly portioned. Snacks are delicious, especially the salmon and miso pudding(is it a pudding? The texture is like pannacota). Desserts are not bad cause all of them are tea infused so it won't be too sweet(but it's also sweeter than what I would appreciate). We also ordered ice cream and Sakura sorbet. White jasmine tea ice cream is definitely a must-try while the sorbet is not recommended. After all, TWG deserves a 80 if notch8 is a 50.
I enjoyed the service and food at TWG very much. Reza was excellent in his explanation of the different teas. The service and presentation was excellent however I found the tea flavor to be a little weak for my taste. Given everyone taste is different I highly recommend to give TWG a try and experience afternoon for yourself.
Customer service was excellent. Friendly and professional staffs. Knowledgeable on their tea selections. Love the tailored menu to suit Canadians taste buds, as I usually went the one in Asia. My Jubilee set menu was amazing. Great treats for a nice afternoon tea.
My friend and I had a wonderful time at TWG. We both had the Jubilee tea set menu. The savoury dishes were satisfying, the sweets was acceptable but i had better desserts somewhere else. Certainly room for improvement on the sweets. The tea selection itself was great. Service was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was just right for 'tea party' or date. We would definitely be back, maybe we will try their cakes next time :)
Was served by a new server who was slow, unfriendly, and generally clueless. When the server did come over after 10 minutes of us sitting looking at the menus, we were never greeted, and ordering a simple set was difficult.
After finishing desert, we waited 20 minutes for the bill... We did manage to speak to management and let them know about the issues we encountered and we were offered macaroons as compensation, which we turned down.
They only have 12 tables, and they had enough staff on hand to the point where a few were standing around watching. Just seemed very inefficient, as if they're still figuring out all the kinks.
Very odd experience overall. Will not be back.
I have been to this restaurant many times for their fabulous tea selection and good food. The service is professional and friendly. Of all the times I have visited TWG, this last time was the only time I was a little disappointed. I introduced a friend I hadn't see for awhile to the restaurant but we found it difficult to have a conversation over the loud music. The music selection was lovely but we had to ask them twice to turn it down so we could talk. Even after the 2nd request, the music was still too loud. Music is supposed to be background not a concert! I had wanted my friend to like the restaurant as much as I do but the loud music was a definite disappointment.
Really lovely place for afternoon tea. There's an extensive list of teas. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and recommended the perfect teas for each of us. We ordered one of the set menus. Extravagant but each item was delicious and beautifully presented. The menu has many savory and sweet options. The room is lovely and quiet, the staff very helpful and efficient. We loved our teas so much that we bought some to take home.
Terrible service. We were ignored by the waitress for 20 minutes after being seated. When we were ordering lunch, her voice quiet, as if she were whispering, and only explained the menu and food to one person. We had a party of FOUR people. She was extremely rude. After a 50 minute wait, we finally got our lunch. However, she lied to us that we had to wait for another table's food to be ready, despite the fact that the table ordered Afternoon tea/desserts, and we had ordered a full lunch. I received a "well-done" Wagyu steak, but I ordered it "medium". My friend received cold Halibut. We weren't able to tell the waitress about the poorly, inaccurately cooked food, because she disappeared again after delivering the food. We asked for help from another waitress, but the manager showed up and told us to look for our waitress. My friends and I were very frustrated and complained to the manager, "she kept disappearing all the time. It seemed as though she did not want to serve us". NOBODY came to help us. The manager tried to make reparations to us by deducting THREE complimentary desserts from the bill. From paying $245 for the lunch to the restaurant, the four of us received terrible service and mostly bad attitude from the employees, and only three desserts were deducted from the bill? One of my friends felt that it was extremely unfair. This was my first visit to TWG, and will likely be my last visit. Unpleasant, and a horrible experience!
Beautiful restaurant and great teas. Waiters are knowledgeable. However food quantity is unusually small even for high tea. Service was slow for some patrons. Expensive for quantity of food received. Would go back for tea and a paestry only. The high tea is too expensive for the quality of desserts and sandwiches.
