Twenty9 Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I went here for our 5th anniversary. It was our first time here so we were excited to visit. It was my mistake that I didn't read the fine print on the groupon stating one per table. I purchased two for my husband and I. When I asked the waitress if they would make an exception because I made a mistake, her manager was unwilling to bend. It was my anniversary and you would think they would make be willing to at least offer a free appetizer or drink or something to keep a customer.
We ended up ordering from the bar menu but was charged the cost of the regular menu. I didn't even feel like complaining as my anniversary dinner was already ruined. We ordered oysters on the half shell which tasted dirty with a bad aftertaste. I've had them at Sullivan's before and they were amazing. Here they tasted like they had been picked out of the Schuylkill River. We then got the crab meat chipotle flatbread. It was so overpowering with the taste of cheddar that you could taste nothing else. After having such a bad experience, I was not about to even think about ordering a meal. Unfortunately I still have a groupon to use so I guess I will have to stomach it once more. The music was sub par at best sounding like careoke on a cruise ship. Honestly the waitress was not bad. I know she felt bad and kept telling me how nice I looked which didn't help the situation.
I had bought a cake to have delivered to the table for husband but we were so disappointed that we ended up taking the cake home and celebrating at home with cake and champagne. We didn't even take the cheese tasting flatbread with us. We each only ate half the flatbread and left the rest on the table. It was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Even more disappointing that it was on our 5th anniversary. Make sure you read the fine print on the groupon. If you want an awesome dining experience for the same price with much better food and service, go to Sullivan's in King of Prussia.
Absolutely delicious anniversary dinner. Highly recommend for Sunday evening dining in the elegant indoor terrace room. Wonderful soft folk songs from the 1960s provided background music yet allowed for comfortable conversation. Highest praise for our thoughtful and helpful server Justin. We asked him to tell the gourmet chef how much we both enjoyed our main Scottish Salmon entrees accompanied by a marvelous assortment of bakery fresh breads. The Ricotta Cheese Cake with raspberry and jam topping was the best my husband has ever tasted. It should be noted that primarily weekday evenings the noise level can get energetic due to popular happy hour crowds in their huge bar areas that are separated by doors from the terrace area. However, Sunday nights it is very quiet in dining area.
They accommodated a last minute party of 6 and everything was great, we had wine, beer, the blood orange margarita, several appetizers, and dinner. Everything came out wonderful and our server was amazing. They accommodated our food allergies. It was a lovely meal we will definitely go back.
Our Scottish salmon entrees and pumpkin pie desserts were wonderful. Our server Patti was very kind and helpfull. Only problem is there is nowhere to escape the high noise level owing to pretty interior primarily of hard wood and glass. Food was so enjoyable that we did not mind too much not being able to converse with one another during dinner.
Waited 45 minutes and no food. Dining room was empty on a Friday night at 7:30 - should have been our first sign. When we asked why it was taking so long a manager told us 45 minutes was acceptable we shouldn't complain. At that point we just left. Can't comment on the food but the attitude of the staff was awful.
Very nice menu but pricey. It seemed like it couldn't figure out what type of place it wanted to be. Menu was "high end" in terms of selections and prices, but the tables themselves were almost too casual. It's a huge place- too big almost. Big bar in the middle with sports on the TV's all around. Very loud piped in music. We were looking for a casual dinner, with a little ambience. There really isn't any. It was good and worth a try. Not sure we would go back.
Went to the bar with a few friends around 4:00 for a birthday celebration. The restaurant was pretty quiet so we sat at the bar. The food came quickly and the drinks, service and overall experience was good. Really nice place with beautiful decor, loved the rustic barn look on the outside of the restaurant. I would go back for a happy hour!
We went here for dinner and to see the Chatter Band. Dinner wasn't good at all and it was way over priced!! The crowd was much older than anticipated and the bar was way packed so it waa very difficult to get a drink. We ended up leaving before the band finished their first set. More than likely, we won't be going back because there are so many other venues out there that aren't as expensive and our out much better food!!!!
First time here and we were not impressed. We were initially seated at a table under the air conditioning duct. Water (condensation) dripped on my arm and then I realized that I was sitting on a wet chair. Evidently, water had been dripping for some time. We were moved to another table where we sat for quite some time before a server finally came over. Our server was obviously very inexperienced based on the several things that happened. My wife was served a salad which was large and she asked if I wanted to share it. I asked for an extra plate and the server gave me an absolutely filthy plate that looked as if it had not been washed. Another server finally brought bread when we finished the salad. After sitting at the table for 45 minutes, the waitress came over and asked if we wanted to order dessert. I replied, yes, but it would be nice if you served us our entrees first. She didn't even realize that they were never served. The entrees were just so so. I had grilled tilapia with a lemon pepper sauce. The fish was a little overdone and there was much too much pepper. My wife's strip steak also not very good. It was medium as ordered but had a lot of fat and lacked real taste. We ended the meal with tea and the waitress, once again, showed her inexperience. She brought the hot water in a small pot, the cup and saucer, teabag and sugar on a tray and left the entire tray on the table. We removed everything, as it should have been done by our waitress, and another server, seeing the tray on the table quickly removed it.
On the plus side, they had live music on the deck. Really good band, too. We went outside after our less than stellar meal to enjoy the music.
A busy bar scene and nice restaurant. We made reservations via Open Table and Pattie from the restaurant called to let us know the main dining room had a private party but they would be glad to accommodate us in the bar downstairs. Appreciated the heads up and we had a very nice meal in the bar. The outside patio was hopping and music sounded good. Food was good and service attentive
Not sure why it wasn't more crowded. Friendly greeting, nice table. Food was extraordinary, we each had a seafood dish and each was tasty and well prepared. Our server, Justin took excellent care of us. We had a birthday pac coupon which made it even better. We will definitely return.
Wait staff seemed limited as we didn't see our server much of the time. She may have been busy with the Deck outside since we were there toward the end of happy hour. Still, we waited a long time for a number of things. I didn't even get my cocktail until after my soup arrived, following a couple reminders to the server. Also, the soup was tepid. Food was fine overall, but the experience was not what we hoped for for a birthday celebration with friends who came from out of town. I probably wouldn't go back.
