Twenty9 Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I was nearby for Thanksgiving, and got together with friends during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend - we wanted something away from the malls, and thought this place had a great menu. Absolutely one of the best meals I've had in quite some time - the prime rib egg rolls were delicious, as was the main course lemon pepper tilapia (the risotto served with it was also amazing). Overall, just a great dinner!
Had a light meal and watched Chatterbox preform. Outstanding! Lots of dancing. A little loud to have a conversation in the main room but the room we ate our meal in was perfect to talk and listen to the band. I thought the drink prices were a little high. I usually pay about $7-$8 for a simple Moscato. These were $13-$14 a glass.
The server and chef were very accommodating to special dietary needs, and still managed to serve a delicious meal. Seating in the indoor porch adjacent to the bar allowed for conversation in a lower noise level environment. Food was a little pricier than but very good. All in all, a good local choice for an evening out to dinner with friends.
The food is good as it always is. Service was excellent, our waitress was genuinely hospitable and very efficient & accurate. My Gin and tonic was a disappointment. It mostly ice in a small glass with about 3 oz of Gin & Tonic. I don't mind spending $8.00 on a Gin and Tonic but please can I have at least 5oz??
First time but not the last. Our experience was great starting with walking up to the restaurant. The building itself is very cute, the ambience as soon as you open the door was great, the hostess was very nice, the bar service got our drinks perfect, and our waiter was amazing. The food was delicious, all 4 in my party were very pleased and the drink selection was great. We cannot wait to go back and try other items.
We have been to Twenty9 several times. The food is good, our server was attentive and polite. This was the first time we were there when there was live music on a Friday night. While the music was very good, the noise level was very loud - too loud to have a conversation with the friends we had met for dinner. We'll keep this in mind for future outings and maybe request to sit in the enclosed porch where the music might be a little less loud.
Worst service ever, and we eat out often. Almost ten minutes at the hostess stand before being acknowledged. Then almost ten minutes until a hostess came to seat us. We were ready to leave...and we should have. After being seated, server took amost ten minutes to come to the table. We said give us another minute, and he came back almost 10 minutes later. (I noticed the time for all off these because we had our 2 year old with us and know he gets fidgety). Waiter also forget a couple of things we asked for and didn't come to the table for 20 after runner left food. I even had to go to the bar to get our water refilled. This is unacceptable, and we wull likely never return.
Oh, Wow, they did it again. Anniversary dinner for the wife and I and the food was outstanding!!! She had the Diver Scallops and they just melted in your mouth. I had the filet fixed to a rare to med rare, and has to be the best cut of tasting meat I have had. The bed of whipped potatoes under the meat was perfect. Plenty rare in the middle, but tasted perfect all the way through. We used a $24 Groupon for the first $40 charge to even help with the bill. I also had a Yingling lager that was great too.
A decent place that was conveniently located about 0.5 miles from where we were meeting. Unfortunately, it was a business lunch so I did not get to experience the restaurant in all its glory (that is, dinner items, beer list, wine, etc.) The food was not bad and we'd go there again under similar circumstances.
The filet was amazing - almost fork tender. The rest of us had the pork chop special, that turned out to be a HUGH chop cooked over a wood fire. Good choices of wines, but the iced tea lacked flavor and was unusually dark, so it may be a powder mix. Our waiter was attentive although he forgot to put in the risotto . . for which I ended up being grateful. Lots of surprisingly good food for a reasonable tab.
There are two menus. We sat outside but had the main restaurant menu. Our food was outstanding. The outside bar on the deck below us had a live band which made the evening very entertaining. We peered at the bar food being served and the burgers looked so good we will try that the next time we are in town
This restaurant #1 always has delicious food and large portions. #2 there are always coupons available through local clipper magazine, discount gift cards, etc.
I suppose it might pick up at night with the large bar indoor and outdoor area/bar, but I have always just come for dinner.
I highly suggest the Stephen Chicken! AMAZING!
