First class service from knowledgable staff. Lovely restaurant, unobtrusive music. Taster menu not quite as described on menu but still delicious. Only negative was that food could have been a little hotter.
A little underwhelming for a Christmas dinner.
The food was ok, the staff were ok but that’s all that can be said.
I’ve no issue with paying extra on Christmas Day as I’d want paying double time if I had to work BUT, not much in the way of a extra effort was made to make the occasion feel special, not even a Christmas cracker from Tesco 🤷♂️
Booked a family dinner for Christmas Eve. It was our first visit and we weren’t disappointed. Fantastic timings considering two of our party had a 6 course taster menu and two of us opted for the à la carte menu. Every dish everyone had was superb. First class on every level.
Food was nice, however my hake dish was too salty. The duck dish was lovely though, and the highlight was desert!
As usual, good food, excellent service, just the right amount, most enjoyable, it is our special place to eat, thank you all.
Such a treat to enjoy such a fabulous meal during this year of many disappointments. This was a highlight!
This must be the best restaurant in the South Hams. A la Carte or the Tasting Menu, it's all good. Well done Jamie for keeping up your high standard.
Excellent service and absolutely delicious food - very well done!
This is our third visit this year and we have always enjoyed the food but usually the service has been a bit underwhelming , however this time we could not fault the service , friendly, warm and efficient. We will be back !
Always excellent food and service enjoy our visits
Lovely seasonal food, nice drinks menu. Phenomenal dessert
Beautifully cooked and presented food and excellent service.
Fantastic experience. Exquisite food presented beautifully. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will visit again.
An absolute must if you are visiting Kingsbridge. The amazing food is creative and delicious not only is it a feast for the tastebuds but also the eyes. The staff are so also warm and welcoming even in these strange times. Fantastic from beginning to end spoilt for choice with the menu but all
If our dishes were equally as good as the next from the local Beesands Scallops with its delicate sauce to the light airy crab tart. We both had the lobster and it didn’t disappoint absolutely mouthwatering. The deserts were something to behold especially the chocolate orange and the delice with the caramac sauce was superb. A very enjoyable evening we will be back very soon.
Need some more variety on the menu same a la carte menu as last time we came which was circa 6 months ago
As ever, the food was excellent. Jamie’s skill at blending tastes and textures is of the highest quality and at times most original - Sauternes ice cream with crab tartlet as a starter, anyone? A terrific way to celebrate a birthday.
Having read the glowing reviews online we were excited to experience Jamie’s taster menu. However, it wasn’t as amazing as I’d expected. For me, the flavours were not quite right on many of the dishes, although they were pleasant enough. The wines were delivered without the explanation I would expect with a glass chosen to accompany a certain dish. However the Shot glass of passion fruit daiquiri was a cute touch with one of the puddings. I felt the two puddings were too similar in texture and flavour. The service was good but not as informative as I’d have expected. Overall, I pleasant evening (a bit rushed- 6 courses in 1.5 hours), but I wouldn’t go back and I wouldn’t recommend to others.
Very good food, excellent service, pity about the moaning Americans on the next table!
Great food. We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely return.
Excellent taster menu. Accommodated an alternative for one diner for one course with no fuss. Good ambience despite the restrictions.
We had the 6 course tasting menu with matching wines. The quality of food was superb and most certainly up to Michelin star standard. The service was excellent as was the atmosphere. Our favourite dish was the crab tartlet. We will definitely return and would thoroughly recommend.
Fabulous food in a restaurant that we haven’t tried before - it lives up to its reputation
The apple crumble was a masterpiece ! A lovely experience eating here
Wonderful taster menus and wine flight. Really appreciated the imagination that went into providing such lovely dishes for our different dietary needs (including vegan and pescatarian). Look forward to returning again soon!
Fabulous food in lovely surroundings, Highly recommended!
We enjoyed our visit here, however we did notice that they’d allowed a group of +6 in to separate over two tables.
We also had dirty cutlery and we ordered a side dish which came out incorrect.
The food was great that we did have and we enjoyed our visit but I was slightly disappointed by the above.
Absolutely fabulous food. Worth every penny. Can’t fault it.
Delay with service which made the evening rushed and tense
My steak was delicious, but there were two large pieces of shell in my husband's lobster.
The little cup of soup was very tasty, but mine had slopped into the saucer and down the sides of the cup
Good food, but not great attention to detail
We were celebrating our Diamond wedding anniversary and the experience lived up to the occasion. The food was spectacular particularly the crab tart and the finale the apple crumble.Thank you for making our anniversary so memorable. We look forward to our next visit.
It’s always a treat dining here but we did have a few problems... our table wasn’t available so we had to wait 30 mins, then we found that numerous things had run out; side dish vegetables and then cheese (for desert). We ordered a side dish of creamed spinach and it came out in a dish not much larger than an egg cup and was supposed to be shared with 4 people and for £5 this was disappointing. Having said that, the restaurant was very busy and it felt like even more tables rather than less which was a surprise given the current issues and restrictions. However, the staff were friendly, warm and helpful even though they were rushed off their feet. The food that was available 😀 was superb. We will definitely return but perhaps not on a busy Saturday night.
The food was fantastic- so flavoursome - beautifully presented. No complaints.
However, the service doesn’t match the food. It’s very slow and seems to lack the knowledge and enthusiasm you’d expect. We dined at 7pm - but when we were served our mains - despite ordering sides of carrots we’re told we’ve run out and there were no other choices or anything to replace.
Same for dessert - only 4 choices and 2 not available. How can a restaurant of this standard run out of cheese n biscuits ?
We would go again and give it another try - yes, it’s expensive - it’s a lovely place - we enjoyed the food - but the team needs product knowledge and to be more organised and customer aware.
My new favourite restaurant.. l had the lobster it was amazing
Fabulous leisurely meal, attentive service, not rushed at all. Would definitely go again. Food was amazing.
I felt the social distancing rules were being stretched a little which made us very uncomfortable. In future we will be supporting those maintaining the 2 metre rule rather than those that feel this is "not viable" . The food didn't live up to expectation.
Hake was very fresh although a little salty, well presented and good service. Price on the high side.
Food was beautiful presented.
We had the tasting menu, beef main courses was great but some other courses were tasteless. The staff were very friendly and attentive.
Good atmosphere and very good service.
The food was very good.
One disappointment was they had no vegetable side dishes available.
Also ran out of cheese as a dessert option.
Every mouthful was a delight. Staff friendly, welcoming and efficient. My husband should have added a side order but portion size was perfect for me. Highly, highly recommend this restaurant.
An exceptionsll talented chef offfering and innovative set of dishes. Well worth a visit.
