Twenty Manning Grill
8 oz ground short rib & brisket, bacon-onion jam, white cheddar
Grilled Bone-In Pork Chop
brussels sprouts & potato hash, blue cheese butter, fig jus
sushi rice, cucumber, avocado, tobiko
This was my first outside dining experience during Covid. The server, the food runner, manager, and busser were all extremely attentive, made us smile, and feel at ease.
Love you and and all that u bring to Philly
I did not eat a single bite of my short rib as it made my stomach feel queasy just looking at it. The photos I posted clearly show all the red meat and tons of fat on my short ribs. This type of meat should be slowly cooked for a long time (3+ hours) and therefore should be brown throughout and most of the fat should be melted. I’m still giving them 3 stars because the other two people in my party really liked their food (salmon and meatloaf) and our waitress was very sweet but she should have noticed I didn’t touch my food and saw the plate of rare meat and fat. I’ve been here before and have never been disappointed so this was upsetting, I hope I’ll get over it and be able to go back.
Service was great but unfortunately the food was SOO salty & oysters were overpriced for their value.
Very nice staff! Excellent food. Everything was fresh and tasty. Will be going back again!
6 oysters $21 & they were poor quality
Rest of dinner was good
Great service and friendly staff
Neighborhood restaurant -- we used to eat here all the time. Then it got SOOOO noisy we gave up. It's still noisy, but opens at 5 PM, which was what we needed. Unfortunately, it was an annoying experience. We sat and chatted over our drinks and were visited several times by our waiter, looking to take an order. So imagine our surprise when we tried to order THREE different things from the menu -- all of which they were "out of". And these weren't esoteric things (crab cakes???) So come dessert, we asked for a menu, placed an order with the same waiter and were told "Oh sorry, we're out of that". Why did he feel the need to keep frustrating our order process. So we won't go back again anytime soon.
Terrific brunch, many excellent choices on the menu. My favorite is the eggs benedict with spinach substituted for meat. Server was pleasant. Lovely bright place to dine.
We had a delicious meal. Our waiter was especially helpful and attentive. When I realized my phone was just about out of power he had it recharging as we had dinner. Fabulous experience!
They were very accommodating. Our friends arrived early and had no problem sitting and waiting for us. And they didn’t rush us out.
On visits to Philadelphia I like to eat at 20 Manning Grill as I have never been disappointed with my meal. This time I ordered my favorite and while it was good, it was not the usual recipe that I remember. It was more spicy...and I wonder how can lemon/rosemary chicken taste spicy? So that was disappointing as in previous visits it would be a melt in my mouth experience. Still good but not what I was expecting.
We waited over 15 minutes for anyone to even come to our table. Once they came it got better. I’m not sure if they were short staffed or what the confusion was. The restaurant was not at all full. The food was good and we enjoyed it, but nothing was all the exceptional.
Had Sunday brunch for my mother-in-law's birthday, 5 people -- outstanding experience. The portions were quite large for the price, making the menu an excellent value. And the food was prepared wonderfully and tastefully -- we're not talking loads of hash browns on the side to fill up the plate. Service was highly attentive. And the ambiance of the place is just clean and uplifting. I have to say that this experience really brought our attention back to Twenty Manning (we used to dine here for dinner years ago), and we'll be returning soon for dinner.
Service was great and so was food. Very convenient to comedy club we went to. Highly recommend
We had brunch with friends at the last minute.
We had never eaten at 20 Manning before. Brunch was great. The service was friendly, prompt and attentive without being intrusive. The selections were interesting and delicious. The coffee was very good as well, always a plus in my book. Several of us had the blueberry pancakes. They were light and tasty, and not too sweet. No overpowering sprinkle of powdered sugar, just a nice light drizzle of lemon glaze. Our other friend had the BLEAT- Bacon, lettuce, egg, avocado and tomato sandwich. Good bread and the spicy mayo was a really great touch.
We will definitely be back!
I have had brunch here many times. The service is usually very prompt. This time it was very very slow. The food was very good and it is a bright cheerful place. It wouldn't be too loud if people would talk normally instead of shouting.
Like this place a lot. Leek soup was very good. All the food was excellent actually
Food was very good. Very nice wine list. Service was good although they could have used more wait staff.
Entrees were very disappointing! However, Beef tartare app. was amazing. Fishermans stew was probaby the worst meal I every ate. Supposedly crab, lobster, clams. No crab, tough stringy lobstert pieces (3 very small) 4 clams)LOADED with sauteed onions. Yellowfin tuna was cooked well, the salad fresh, dressing not great. Plenty of other better restaurants!
Excellent brunch and great menu. I always have a great time at Twenty Manning.
Great place, food, service
Great spot for Valentine’s Day. Price Fix menu was good but the pasta on the menu was terribly overcooked
Service and food was fantastic! We will return.
The service and food were excellent!👍🏻👍🏻
We had a lovely time.
We had a limited time frame before a show and the staff was very accommodating.
Many thanks !
Restaurant was near empty when we arrived. Coffee was served in a French press - okay except for stray grounds and no real refresh. A few of our omelette were undercooked. Waitress seemed scattered. Not a great experience - probably won’t go back anytime soon.
Love this spot, casual yet guaranteed to have a great meal.
This is a very good brunch. I enjoy the eggs benedict although the hollandaise sauce should have more lemon flavor. I appreciate getting a side salad instead of potatoes. The servers are friendly and the food arrives promptly. The place is bright and cheerful with big windows which are open in season. I will return and recommend it to friends.
Fabulous restaurant. Great food and service.
Too loud and too much food. Unless it is quieter doubt I will return. Start w turning off music.
I loved the ambiance of the restaurant, although it was a tad loud (to be expected) and some people at the table had difficulty hearing the conversations. I had the grilled mahi in the curry sauce and was quite disappointed as the fish was very tough and dry. It felt as if it was previously cooked and thrown into the sauce. The other person at the table who had the same thing felt the same way. Everyone else seemed to like their meals (scallops and tuna)
The portions were perfect and the food was excellent! Tables are a little close, and noise level quite high, but it didn’t take away for our enjoyment of our dinning. Loved the decor and the rolls were so light and airy, they melted in your mouth. No doubt there will be a return visit.
Great location, great food, great staff and great environment!
Great dinner! We look forward to coming back
Taking advantage of Philadelphia’s restaurant week, we tried this delightful place just off Rittenhouse square. A very generous menu given the $35 fixed price allowed all three of us to be a bit adventurous and share. Food was very good. It was in the energetic side of the spectrum for restaurant noise if that’s a consideration for you.
Delicious food, excellent service
We went during restaurant week after a matinee show at the Academy. Our reservation was for 5pm so the restaurant was pretty empty. Maybe two other tables were occupied. The bar was full. We were seated immediately and then waited at least 10 minutes until a someone finally came over to take our drink order - in an empty restaurant. Didn't like the vibe from our waiter - kind of full of himself. The menu they created for this restaurant week was very good with a wide selection of options on a limited menu. The flavors were extremely satisfying - and, oh that bread!! We tend to pass on bread but we ate all that was served! Delish. The only other down side was the chicken. We understood the risk of chicken often being dry but took a chance. It was dry. However, the sides were fabulous and helped to save the plate. Overall it was a lovely dinner and we would go again.
Its a great place to chill and chat with friends. The area is great for brunch
My wife and I visited for dinner a 5:30 p.m. on a Friday night during Restaurant Week. The ambiance was pretty and friendly. The hostess and servers were pleasant. The food was pretty good for a specialty menu. However the venue of not that large and got loud pretty quickly once more patrons came for dinner. Appears to be a nice place for a intimate date night or a happy hour.
