Twenty Manning Grill
we were very disappointed in the whole experience - I am not sure if the ownership has changed, but the service was terrible, the food wasn't nearly as good as we had remembered. My daughter's hamburger was raw when we asked for medium well. We didn't get water or a drink for 20 minutes.....and it was not crowded. I don't think we will be back and it used to be one of my favorite places.
We loved the eggs benedict for brunch. Service was excellent. It is a bright cheerful place. The windows were open. That day it was a bit chilly but still very enjoyable.
Beautiful setting, great food
Food was delish, service also wonderful. Noise level a bit loud but loved the ambience
Great food , drinks and service. Really loud!!!!!!!! Not much you can do about that with the space and configuration.
Much too noisy and will not return. A shame because I live two blocks away and dine out every night.
Superb shrimp and squid ink pasta!
Desert menu poor
Probably won't return
no bread, nothing offered in advance, one crab cake for $14???
Our experience at Twenty Manning was very poor. Cool and fun ambiance but that's really where the positives stop. Ordered spicy calamari to start and I can pretty confidently say it was the worst calamari I've ever had. Overloaded with salt and breading, when we tried to remove some of the breading we discovered Ultra tiny, dried up slices of calamari that looked anything but fresh. We had maybe two each before leaving the dish as is and our inattentive waiter didn't even notice or say anything. 30 minutes later our entrees came out (salmon and gnocchi), and again were LOADED with salt. Underwhelming portion sizes were actually appreciated so we didn't have to have another bottle of water. With so many wonderful restaurants in the city and especially in Rittenhouse, this is one you definitely won't regret skipping over.
Visiting our daughter in Philadelphia, and loved our lunch here! Service was friendly and efficient, all 3 dishes we ordered were delicious and the Bloody Mary’s were spice-ily good. Will definitely be back.
Considering it was restaurant week- our service was very good, food portions were large, and kitchen timing was great. The cocktails were our favorite part!
We stopped in after a matinee at the Kimmel Center during restaurant week. We have eaten here several times over the years as it is a nice walk from Kimmel. We watched as the place filled with a young crowd, business colleagues, date night, and groups of friends. Not sure that we are the right demographic for the place anymore. My bao bun with duck confit was well conceived but a bit dry. I was not that hungry and opted for the house made spaghetti bolognese. It was fine. My wife tried their mahi mahi with curry sauce. Concerned that the sauce would be too hot for her, she asked for it on the side. Deconstructing the dish did not work as the fish alone was not well seasoned and was a bit over cooked. We watched the same dish fully sauced being devoured at an adjoining table, so perhaps it was just a bad choice for her. Deserts were fine. A glass of wine was half the price for the dinners, a bit high.
The cocktails were amazing! Food was only ok. Entrees better than apps and dessert. Service was slow and not attentive. Would not go back for anything but drinks.
Twenty Manning is still a good restaurant but will not be my go-to anymore. Over the last 15 years, I have dined there at least 30 times and brought no less than a dozen new diners with me. It was always fun, delicious and a solid off-rittenhouse choice. Then they took my personal favorite, beef sirloin noodles, off the menu a few years ago. I was hugely disappointed but there were other great dishes to compensate. Now they’ve changed those too and become just average along with a very loud ambiance. Their pork chops used to be crave worthy. Now it’s meh. Why the change? I’ll miss this restaurant sorely.
Very good! Went for restaurant week and they had a decent amount of options. Will def go back for the full menu. The place itself is very nice but still casual. outside seating also available.
It happened to be restaurant week - we had a wonderful meal with great service! Highly recommend!
We've been a few times and always are impressed with everything we have ordered. Consistently wonderful flavors and excellent service!
We went for restaurant week and overall had a pleasant experience but wouldn’t go out of my way to recommend it. It’s OK even if a little pricey for being a neighborhood staple. Our wait staff person had the patience of Job. Very nice woman.
Loved the food and drinks but felt very rushed.
Food was great. Service could have been better but we weren’t in a rush so it wasn’t a big deal.
My server forgot to serve the side dish during my dinner. He very nicely gave it to me in a "to go" box. I felt the lamb chops were overpriced at $42 for 2 lamb chops. Very disappointing.
We sat outside where it was quiet and enjoyed a great dinner. We started off with the cheese plate and all of the cheeses were fantastic . My kids had burgers and I had the grilled pork chop. They were all cooked to perfection and delicious. The sides were equally wonderful. We were not rushed even though the restaurant was full. We will be back soon. The staff is warm and friendly. A perfect place to relax and enjoy a great meal on a Friday night.
Twenty Manning is one of the best spots in town. Highly recommend
Me and my Wife are big going out to dinner fanatics in Philadelphia. The food was incredible I can’t say a negative thing other than it can get a bit loud in there from all the echoing. The service was outstanding which is very rare in many restaurants. This restaurant will be put on our top five restaurants that we enjoy going to great ambience atmosphere and location . We do enjoy talking while having dinner that was a bit difficult I’m sure when the windows are open it is much better .
Food was delicious and server was prompt, courteous, and pleasant. Excellent cocktails also. I wish it were not so loud. Table near side window is best for conversation.
Sat outside for a quiet dinner. Food was amazing and so was our server!
Food too salty
Nice outdoor dining on Maning street - always great food and attentive service.
All good except the noise level ... whether the restaurant is extremely busy or not the noise level is terrubmev
What a disappointment!
My small burger was both over cooked and beyond over salted.
There was no service-/had to ask for butter, ground pepper and more rolls. No one ever asked if dinner was OK,
II couldn’t wait to leave the place, given the unacceptable noise level. It was almost impossible to talk to my wife across the table.
Lastly, our table was on the main route out of the kitchen forvthe rushing servers. Twice, spilled food almost landed in my lap.
We’ve been going to 29 Manning for years,?and something terrible has just happened to it.
The bartender Peter knows how to play the music just right to keep the party going. Both bartenders were so friendly and kind! They made the exp so memorable. The song “juicy fruit” must be played!
Enjoyed our meal. Noise level is VERY LOUD in the restaurant. This happens every time we are there. Need some noise cancelling panels in the restaurant.
Great little bistro. Attentive service, prompt kitchen, nice presentation, and delicious food at a reasonable price. What more could you...
Twenty Manning is a great restaurant serving delicious food in a beautiful setting. The only drawback was the noise level, which made conversation with my dinner companions a little challenging.
Our server Sarah was terrific and her recommendations and suggestions were spot on. The Passion Fruit Martini was amazing. Nice and reasonably priced wine list.
We arrived on a Friday 7 pm and the restaurant was less then 1/2 full. It was exceptionally noisy as the music was well too loud. By the time we left the restaurant was full
And the noise level and music well above enjoying our night out as we were screaming to talk
Acoustics in this place are awful. We were sitting a few tables away from people and could hear them as though they were yelling right next to us. Food and service were great though.
My dinner was just not good. Pork chop was tough and hash included barely cooked potatoes. My dining partner enjoyed their salmon. Food has been b- on our last few visits here, used to be consistently very good 🙁
We went for brunch. The food and margaritas were delicious. Would definitely go back.
Great food and service. Lamp chop special is outstanding. Gnocchi and salmon are fabulous. Quality food with welcoming staff make Twenty Manning a sure thing!
