Twenty Manning Grill
It was nice.
Best eggs benedict, multigraan toast, coffee. Not to loud at early brunch, better than dinner. Bright and spacious. Server was helpful and friendly. I will return for brunch and recommend it to friends.
I lived in Philadelphia from 2000-2002. But never made it to Twenty Manning. Determined to do so this trip!
Here’s my breakdown:
Server was lovely! I!!! was a” party of 1” and he was very attentive!
Cocktails were great!
Squid Ink pasta was delicious!
Flourless cake too rich (who knew this could happen)
Noise level upon arrival very loud but got better around 8:30pm.
I’ll keep it in my rotation for my Philly trips.
Twenty Manning is one of my favorite restaurants. We were seated along a banquette as requested but were moved when we asked to be changed to the center area of the restaurant. The drinks were excellent. I like to try specialty cocktails and ordered revivalist sazerac. It was very good. The pork chop was cooked perfectly and lighter than the winter selection, which was a good change for spring. Our waiter gave us just enough attention and was not overbearing. I can’t wait to return.
This is the best place in town!
Back again with friends from DC who loved it so much the first time I brought them here that they insisted we return on their next visit. Didn't disappoint!
The atmosphere was pleasant, the food was good and the service was great. The price point is on the higher side, but still would recommend to others.
A favorite, especially in nice weather!!
Great food in a great environment!
just simply too loud. food was okayish except for my husband’s fish which was so over cooked and rubbery that he couldn’t eat it. we won’t be back.
Brunch on Sunday was nice, but very loud. Service was good and staff very pleasant and attentive.
It was way too noisy -- almost painful. But good food, good service and good value.
Great ambiance and lighting for a nice dinner. Food was decent and good portions, particularly the wedge salad and burger.
Music was way too loud and they refused to turn it down. I ordered mussels and got brussels! I will not return on sat nite.
We were a party of 3. We reviewed the menu in advance and it really looked good! Unfortunately, we were disappointed, to say the least. The noise level inside the restaurant was extremely loud and difficult to hear one another. We ordered 3 appetizers, each one was strictly fair, nothing exceptional. The main course arrived and again, marginal at best. One person had the squid pasta, the other had tuna and I had a salad and requested grilled shrimp. My salad was swimming in dressing and the shrimp was cold not grilled. I asked for that to be rectified and it seemed that the kitchen took the cold shrimp and quickly grilled- it was chewy and overcooked. At one point during dinner, a server put down an appetizer (calamari) on our table - we didn't touch it as we knew it wasn't ours but it sat there for at least 5 min before we could get the attention of a server to let them know it wasn't ours. We didn't mention that we didn't touch it but the server picked it up and gave it to the table next to us. They didn't know we didn't eat it. We thought that was in poor taste. The service was fine but the food and noise level a thumbs down.
Food was average at best and not worth price. Otherwise nice setting and service.
The appetizers were delicious (brussel sprouts, won tons, confit) and so flavorful. However, the entrees were hardly seasoned. My husband got the lamb and I went with the mahi. Neither dish was seasoned and the entrees were very bland.
I have been here before and will continue to be a repeat customer. The food is excellent and the servers are always so welcoming and energetic.
This is my local go-to for out of town friends and special occasions for a comfortable up-scale experience without the up-scale cost. Love Twenty Manning Grill + its ambiance. Very sexy.
Expensive restaurant or not, the food was very underwhelming. The squid ink pasta was inedible with mushy shrimp and very fishy tasting pasta, the PEI mussels were chewy and did not taste like PEI mussels, the steak was flavorless, and the duck bao buns were just "fine." Especially for the price, we expected a lot more than an "ok" meal. That being said the service was very good and the wine was excellent.
Probably. Atmosphere and menu was wonderful but the food preparation was inconsistent with the chicken satay woefully under cooked and fisherman's stew was too thick. Deserts were just the right size and excellent.
Lovely ambience and inventive menu. Brunch is new...I would have given five stars, but they only offer pork breakfast meat. Can't understand not having a veggie and/or turkey version.
Food was horrible had to send it back. Very disappointing. But Our waiter Andrew was very good.
Food overall, fish especially, was wonderful. Enjoy the atmosphere tho' can be overwhelmingly loud at times. Most certainly will return.
Everything was great! From the wednesday night special of Linguine & Clams, to the mahi mahi, and the other apps we got (tuna crudo, fish tacos, brussels sprouts), everything was delicious!
Food was excellent. I had a gilled tofu dish that couldn't have been better. Service was a little slow at the beginning of our meal, but overall the experience was very good. This is one of my favorite places.
Everything was great; food, wine, service.
Wish they had an espresso machine. Would have ended the evening on a total high.
This was an incredible night. You can feel that the staff are having fun and the room is alive. The food was wonderiful, Dont miss the Brussels. My chopped salad and bubbly rose was perfect. All in my party were happy. Super fun!
The nicest neighborhood restaurant you can find. The best manager, Brittney cares about the customer’s experience. Andrew is a super waiter. Food is always spot on.
It was a little loud for having a private conversation, but the food was delicious!
Salmon was perfectly prepared. Excellent Albariño. Lovely wait staff.
Loved Twenty Manning! I went for a Sunday night dinner with my friend and we loved everything we ordered.
The noise was earth shattering. I could barely hear the person across the table from me. The burger was great and service too. But unless you want damage to your ears, go somewhere else.
I have been going to Twenty Manning for many years now. I unfortunately have seen a steady decline in the quality of the food her. My pasta dish contained grit due to poorly cleaned shrimp and my guest's steak was of a poor quality cut of meat.
One thing that Twenty Manning does well is their cocktail program. I would recommend hitting the bar, but not necessarily staying for dinner.
I am hopeful that they quality of food would rebound soon.
The service was excellent and the food was great, but I feel it's not a place to go to relax. The tables are super close to each other and the noise level was deafening. Maybe it's better for a group of people, but not ideal for a quiet romantic dinner.
We were there for post Valentine’s Day dinner, the server and management was fantastic. Our meal was amazing as well and the desert was a perfect way to end the meal. Thank you for a great experience, look forward to coming back.
Valentine’s Day. Was great. Food was amazing. Service was great
Very nice atmosphere and food selection. I went for my birthday and was not disappointed. The staff was very friendly as well.
