Twenty Manning Grill
Loved Twenty Manning! I went for a Sunday night dinner with my friend and we loved everything we ordered.
The noise was earth shattering. I could barely hear the person across the table from me. The burger was great and service too. But unless you want damage to your ears, go somewhere else.
I have been going to Twenty Manning for many years now. I unfortunately have seen a steady decline in the quality of the food her. My pasta dish contained grit due to poorly cleaned shrimp and my guest's steak was of a poor quality cut of meat.
One thing that Twenty Manning does well is their cocktail program. I would recommend hitting the bar, but not necessarily staying for dinner.
I am hopeful that they quality of food would rebound soon.
The service was excellent and the food was great, but I feel it's not a place to go to relax. The tables are super close to each other and the noise level was deafening. Maybe it's better for a group of people, but not ideal for a quiet romantic dinner.
We were there for post Valentine’s Day dinner, the server and management was fantastic. Our meal was amazing as well and the desert was a perfect way to end the meal. Thank you for a great experience, look forward to coming back.
Very nice atmosphere and food selection. I went for my birthday and was not disappointed. The staff was very friendly as well.
One of the best meals and service we’ve had in a while. They were so accommodating. I’m gluten free and the chef ran out to get tamari so I could enjoy a shared meal with my friends. Everything was delicious.
Birthday for my mom. We had an amazing meal and the service is always top notch!
Great place for meeting friends or before or after an event. Food came out quick. "Good Pickle" was just OK :-)
Waitress was very nice. I believe some of the drinks were a little $$ but otherwise, a solid place.
Have dined here many times before, and usually the food is wonderful. The spiced wedge was delicious but the spare ribs were overly spiced and way too fiery hot, almost inedible. I really like a pause between courses, but apparently can't find a way to do that without ordering the two courses at different times. A server was hovering waiting for our starter plates to be removed before dropping the mains one second after they were cleared, this after trying to deliver them well before the starters were finished. It isn't asking a lot for there to be time between. Then after rushing to get the plates down, we couldn't get the check for 10+ minutes. Combined with the ear shattering decibel level made for a less than perfect start to the night.
Great Restaurant! One of our favorites... bad acoustics only issue but service and food makes up for it!✅
We didn't know it was a restaurant week menu, but were very pleased with each dish! The tuna crudo was particularly enjoyable.
We were there for Restaurant Week. The food was delicious (especially the flourless chocolate cake), but our server was awful.
The food was superb and the waitstaff was very attentive. I have recommended this place to my other friends in philly!
The atmosphere is great, the service was fantastic but I went for the pork chop dinner and was TOTALLY disappointed. I know u need to change ur menu to stay competitive but really...if something works stick with it!!!
That potato hash with like two leaves of over processed sprouts was the worst. Then there were no figs, no gorgonzola, no half spouts and the sauce was watery...very bad indeed.
I won’t be back at the next restaurant week. I always go at least to 4 restaurants but you were a mainstay...I guess I’ll need to to try something new!
Solid neighborhood spot right near Rittenhouse Square! Been passing by this place for almost 2 years but never went until Restaurant week gave me an excuse. It's an interesting mix because it has a nice seating area with good "mood lighting" but also has a bar area with TVs showing sports. Something to keep in mind. The restaurant week menu was quite extensive and had many options, including multiple vegetarian entrees for my partner. Service was quite attentive. Food highlights included Vietnamese-style Brussel Sprouts and the Duck Confit bao buns for apps. For dinner the Soy Ginger Tofu was amazing. The gnocchi dish that I got - the gnocchi itself was exquisite, but the sauce/soup it was in was a little on the spicier side, but it was quite tasty. For dessert the pumpkin cheesecake and raspberry sorbet hit the spot. Definitely worth checking out!
Loved the atmosphere. Bustling space with great energy. It was restaurant week ...prix fix was offered with many options. I had mussels in ‘daily preparation’....mussels were tender and decent size but broth was kinda bland. Yellowfin for entree was good. It was on a huge bed of mixed greens so like a salad. The apple cake for dessert was warm and delicious. I also had a couple of glasses of delicious Spanish white wine. Our service was very good: attentive, accurate and laid back all at the same time.
Overall good experience! Salmon was cooked perfectly but the spinach and potatoes were way too garlicky. Staff was responsive on a busy night.
Wish it hadn’t been restaurant week. Better menu when not...service was very friendly
Really great food and ambiance! We had a great time!
Service was a bit slower than usual (not saying much because usually it’s outstanding), and the food was incredible. Our group recommends the sprouts!
20 Manning is great - friendly, lovely room, the food is great - hadn't been for brunch before, but nice variety for those who are leaning either toward breakfast or lunch - one of our party is vegetarian, and there were good options for her, the coffee is terrific. Service was attentive, but not overwhelming, food came quickly and was delicious - all enjoyed,
We'll be back,
I normally love Twenty Manning and have had many great meals there. My most recent was not good - the shrimp cocktail was overcooked, our service was a little slow and we were served the bottom of the whiskey bottle that had a fair amount of sediment in it and likely should have been discarded. I would try again, but maybe just for wine or cocktails.
Great neighborhood location that serves up quality food at reasonable prices. We particularly enjoy it in warmer weather when you can sit outside and watch passersby.
Excellent food, from appetizers to main courses to coffee! Service was also excellent. Great experience.
This was my third or fourth time coming to Twenty Manning, but was the first time for my boyfriend. Usually, the food and service is good but this time they really missed the mark. Our waiter told us the special was lamb, but when asked how it was prepared, he simply said “grilled” and nothing more. He didn’t even ask how we wanted it cooked, which was surprising. When the food came, the broccolini was severely undercooked to the point where it was raw and so hard it was inedible. The lamb portion my boyfriend received was so small (and was really rare), I actually gave him some of mine. And we didn’t see our waiter for the whole meal until it was time for the check. The busser actually came by more often to refill our waters than the waiter did at all. Overall, I’m not sure I want to come back anytime soon. For the amount of money, it wasn’t worth it.
Matthew's cocktails are creative and delicious - the BLEAT sandwich was pretty impressive too. Sit in the windows and enjoy the sun - this place is lovely for brunch or a late afternoon treat.
Love this place but service was disappointing recently- very nice staff but just slow and delayed!
We have been to Twenty Manning many times in the past for dinner and have always had a great experience. This was our first time for brunch and I was disappointed. The food was mediocre- I had the BLEAT sandwich and the toast was very thick and hard, which made the sandwich difficult to eat. Service was very slow even though we were the first table seated for the day. I may give it another chance for lunch or dinner, but definitely off my Brunch list.
Twenty Manning continues to exceed my expectation. Mathew, the restaurant manager, is at the customers ‘s call, always available. The Bar tenders are extremely knowledgeable and greets you with a smile. The servers are excellent. Perfect ambiance.
Wonderful, quaint restaurant with excellent food and service. Highly recommend!
There was a great selection for the three course dinner for New Years Eve with a personable staff & not rushed.
Our server was great and some was the manager that helped at our table.
I haven’t been to this restaurant for awhile and decided to give it a try. Turned out to be a bad decision.
Ambiance is very nice and well kept over the years.
Came on a Monday eve and place was half full.
Our waitress greeted us and took beverage order and delivered them efficiently. She asked if we decided on our dinner selections and we asked for a moment. Another bad decision by us as she disappeared for a long time! She had a large group across the restaurant and forgot about us.
Once I tracked her down to order, she informed us that one item wasn’t available. It’s Monday, not busy, limited plates are offered and they didn’t have pork chops. Oh well.
One guest ordered another selection of Mahi, Mahi. After about 20 minutes, the mgr. Came over to inform us that they forgot to defrost the fish and that wasn’t available either. Defrost fish??
Finally, the salad arrived (comped) which was good. When dinner arrived, it was all presentable but nothing stood out as anything memorable.
In today’s Philly restaurant scene, they need to step up the service and product offerings or they will be extinct, which would be a shame for a place that has survived many years.
It was great
Really great service and ambiance!! On the more expensive side but delicious food.
Great food. Really nice ambiance. Great service. Just a really good place to eat.
Really good food. Liked the atmosphere and our server. Booked this last minute and was very pleased with the choice. Will definitely come back.
Ear-shattering noise. Averaged over 90dB. OSHA requires that at this level management needs to provide workers with heating protection. They should comply.
