Decided to eat at 20 / 20 after golf at the Crossings as it is just across the street.
Our waitress was great and we had a very nice meal on the patio.
Service was good.. live music was nice.. food was eehhhh... and pretty expensive.
Twenty/20 is one of our go-to restaurants for special occasions and for upscale dining. Our recent visit to celebrate an anniversary confirmed our previous visits. We both had great cocktails, an excellent short rib main course, a very nice complimentary creme brûlée, but the Cesar salad was a major let down. We still had an excellent experience, except for the salad, and would still recommend them for future visits.
Would not return. OK place but nothing to write home about. If you're coming to Lego Land it's a viable option.
Dining on the patio next to the water-fire feature is always a pleasure. Great views, great cocktails, great great service from Stephanie our waitress. Definitely order the 20/20 signature chips!
Happy Hour is awesome for appetizers and drinks! The short rib is delicious! Amazing service!
The setting and service were both wonderful but the prime rib was tough, difficult to cut (even with steak knife), and a major disappointment. All four of us ordered it and felt the same way.
I'm not sure if they were understaffed, but we had to wait for beverage refills (water, coffee and mimosas). The food was good, but the temperature wasn't.
First off... this is a hotel restaurant. However, it has some unique characteristics that make it very attractive for locals. The setting within the restaurant itself is somewhat romantic with a fireplace and couches, and a "fire wall" that spans the front of the restaurant. The resort, and the restaurant, both have decent views of the oceans, although the view is miles away. The venue itself is what earned my 4-stars.
The food changes from time to time and so would my review, had I posted this a few years back. The food, under the current chef (July, 2017) is solid. Not excellent, but good to very good. On our recent visit, I had the cauliflower appetizer, which was excellent, the Kobe Beef Sirloin, which was good, and the Crab Cakes which were good but lacked flavor - could have used an accompanying sauce. The food was "good" in general, but expensive for "good." About $140 for our meals, all-in.
Their beer list used to be limited to the usual hotel beers (Bug, Stella, Blue Moon, etc.) but on my last visit I noticed that the bottle list has grown to include local craft beers - an absolute must for any San Diego county restaurant.
Overall, we keep coming back. Why? It's a great spot for date night, and the food is good.
I have had dinner at TWENTY/20 several times, but this was my first time for lunch. It has been wonderful on every dimension each time.
Four of us met there for Sunday brunch. The hotel, restaurant and view are very nice. There was a live guitarist we were concerned about since we were seated right next to him, but he surprisingly did not play too loud.
The food was very good. The brunch libations were somewhat disappointing. Two in our party ordered Caprese Bloody Mary's . They appeared, and tasted, like water with a slight tomato flavor. Rather than drink these first Mary's, we instead ordered the Signature Bloody Mary's. These were more typical and tasted just fine.
Two in our party ordered bottomless mimosas. The initial drinks were good, but the glasses sat empty for much of the meal. We flagged down another server to refill the sparkling wine. She apologized and told us she would never let her table run dry for so long. The first refill was with sparkling wine that was so flat, it literally tasted like water mixed with O.J. The server (who was still not the one assigned to our table) was nice enough to bring a fresh bottle. Overall, food was good, drinks were 50/50. Service was spotty. The server we did not have appeared to be much more attentive than the one assigned to our table.
I do think I would go back. I would be sure to let the server know upfront to watch our drinks.
Nice patio setting, but maintenance was cleaning out firewall with a vacuum cleaner during the entire meal, very noisy, and inside the restaurant the air conditioning was too cold without a jacket. Service was good, steak frites was very good, short rib sandwich, not so good. Arnold Palmer tea and lemonade were both watery. Not a good experience today.
Service wa slow. Bill was confusing ((almost left without paying as it appeared my card was already run but hadn't given it yet -they need to not do that room ticket!)
Always kids on patio (yeah it's close to Legoland I know!)
Our waitress placed one order wrong so basically EVERYONE else had eaten (and there were kids in our party) and we all sat around for the person whose meal was placed incorrectly to finish:/ not cool
A friend of mine flew in from Georgia and we decided have lunch close to my office, so I chose Twenty/20. I hadn’t been in a while and the place is still as beautiful as I had remembered. The patio was quiet, the food choices were vast and our server, Theresa, was an absolute pleasure. Theresa’s service was quick and professional and the presentation of the food was delightful! I highly recommend Twenty/20 for a quick business lunch, as well as a great place to relax and have a few cocktails. The atmosphere is tranquil and fun and everyone we encountered seemed genuinely happy to be there. This place is a hidden gem for locals and a relaxing getaway for visitors.
Great evening. We will return as we have many times in the past. Our waiter was amazing.
The service here was very poor. The server wasn't smiling and gave very brief descriptions of items and really no recommendations. They served the entrees before we were finished with our salads and expected us to move our plates around for them. They didn't even try to figure out who had what and didn't bus the tables well. Overall this was the worst service I've had at a restaurant in years!
Had a very enjoyable experience, the food was very good, portions were abundant, good service, and great atmosphere.
We had brunch. The food was good and options weren't typical brunch items, which was very nice. Our server was nice but once we got our food, she wasn't around and we had to wait for longer than we would have like to for another dring and then again for the bill and to pick up the bill. That was quite disappointing. I would and will dine there again and hopefully get a better server.
Beside the quality of the "bubbles" (sub-par for a high-end establishment), everything else was excellent.
The waitress was very attentive and although it looked like she was taking care of a lot of tables, quite fast. The Italian Eggs Benedicts were great, the Baltimore Crab Benedicts were not so great but good nevertheless.
Definitely worth as we got a discounted coupon: if we had to pay the whole price the value for money would not have been there.
I booked because they rave about the view. View was disappointing
We visit Twenty/20 at least once a month. The food is always excellent and the service is very good as well. We love the house made chips and dip. You can sit outside and enjoy the view or inside, both are good.
They had the best cauliflower appetizer I've ever had. Everything thing else was good too.
Very friendly staff and made us feel welcomed with our messy toddler.
I was overall disappointed. A lot of the reviews had said that the service was not up to par. Unfortunately, I would have to agree.
We were not greeted by our server for over 15 minutes. We finally asked someone walking by if they could send our server to the table. Five minutes later, the server came. She was nice and attended to us thereafter. Our main course came out 15 minutes separate from eachother. The server apologized and took one of the meals off the ticket. They tried to make things right which I appreciated, but disappointed because the other reviews were similar to what we experienced.
The bread and butter was great! Spicy margaritas were so-so.
I'm undecided if I would try it again.
Shishito peppers are bombers. good salads. pork chop perfect. fish done well. excellent service.
they need a pastry chef who can whip up warm zabiglione on request. otherwise, excellent all around.
Bad service, people walking out as we did due to bad service. They took forever to wait on you then they would forgot the order you placed or not even take your order. Bad service just bad
Went for Father's Day. Very slow.
Absolutely fabulous food! We had the Baltimore Benedict, which were made with fresh REAL crab cakes with poached egg and hollandaise sauce on an English muffin, and the smoked salmon benedict. They came with a choice of potatoes or fruit, and everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. Don't skip the beignets - a treat to die for. Really good Bloody Marys, great service with a very attentive but not overbearing server, and very nice ambiance. Don't expect an ocean view, but it is still a beautiful setting away from it all.
We enjoyed the restaurant and food. We both had the crab cake Benedict and it was excellent. The hash browns were crispy and delicious. I ordered the bloody Mary, but it was too spicy so they brought a Mimosa instead.
Looked online and saw the Twenty/20 grill had good reviews so booked a table for Sunday brunch.
We were seated by the receptionist and after some 25 mins waiting for menu's asked to be served. The waitress explained that nobody had told her we were seated - even though she had been moving around us for the past 25 mins.
Scanning the menu we asked if they had any gluten free selections. The waitress said she didn't know and walked away. My friend asked if they could make an omelette so the waitress said she would ask the kitchen.
On her return she explained that all the omelette making pans had been put away, but could offer us a fried egg. Asking if you can fry and egg you can make an omelette - the waitress simply shrugged her shoulders and said "that what the kitchen said".
When the food arrived it was tasty and plentiful, and the coffee was excellent.
Waiter could not with the wine special and said no one else in the restaurant could either. No asked about serving desert. The dinner itself was very good but TV on was very distracting.
We may have been at an off-time - Holiday at lunch but there were VERY few guests and those that were there were very loud. Very limited lunch menu, loud repair work going on at bar, cleaning person around our table. Overall, not a great experience although it may be better for dinner. Dining room was attractive and may be nice to sit outdoors.
Great live music
Entrees are pricey but hotel
Nice kids portions
Great selections. Ross our waiter made it a great day
We had there mothers day brunch, food was fair at best prime rib was undercooked even for rare, every one was seated outside.it was windy so your food was cold by the time you Sat down to eat it. For the price of the meal I will NEVER do that again.
Awesome date night location with good music and ambiance.
We truly enjoyed the ambiance on the patio late Saturday night. Our filet mignon was cooked to perfection and the scallops were delicous! We went back the next morning for Sunday brunch and loved the cured salmon bagel. The mimosa flight was the highlight of our morning. Both waitresses we had were attentive and friendly!
We will definitely be back soon.
The ambience was great the server was pretty good too but the food wasn't that fabulous . Very dry and tough Porkchop and one of the wineglasses was filthy and smelled So poorly we needed to ask for a new glass.. did not win me over. Sorry!
We discovered 20/20 during our vacation at Mar Brisa. We had a lovely lunch on the patio on a beautiful day and liked it so much that we returned for dinner. The food and service were wonderful.
Wonderful food for happy hour, delicious and surprised at half price appetizers when the bill came . Beautiful ocean view, heaters and fireplace also. The music was very pleasant and easy to chat . Great place for friends, a date or special occasion, don't miss it when you are in town
