Twenty/20 Grill & Wine Bar - Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa Ratings and Reviews
A friend of mine flew in from Georgia and we decided have lunch close to my office, so I chose Twenty/20. I hadn’t been in a while and the place is still as beautiful as I had remembered. The patio was quiet, the food choices were vast and our server, Theresa, was an absolute pleasure. Theresa’s service was quick and professional and the presentation of the food was delightful! I highly recommend Twenty/20 for a quick business lunch, as well as a great place to relax and have a few cocktails. The atmosphere is tranquil and fun and everyone we encountered seemed genuinely happy to be there. This place is a hidden gem for locals and a relaxing getaway for visitors.
The service here was very poor. The server wasn't smiling and gave very brief descriptions of items and really no recommendations. They served the entrees before we were finished with our salads and expected us to move our plates around for them. They didn't even try to figure out who had what and didn't bus the tables well. Overall this was the worst service I've had at a restaurant in years!
We had brunch. The food was good and options weren't typical brunch items, which was very nice. Our server was nice but once we got our food, she wasn't around and we had to wait for longer than we would have like to for another dring and then again for the bill and to pick up the bill. That was quite disappointing. I would and will dine there again and hopefully get a better server.
Beside the quality of the "bubbles" (sub-par for a high-end establishment), everything else was excellent.
The waitress was very attentive and although it looked like she was taking care of a lot of tables, quite fast. The Italian Eggs Benedicts were great, the Baltimore Crab Benedicts were not so great but good nevertheless.
Definitely worth as we got a discounted coupon: if we had to pay the whole price the value for money would not have been there.
I was overall disappointed. A lot of the reviews had said that the service was not up to par. Unfortunately, I would have to agree.
We were not greeted by our server for over 15 minutes. We finally asked someone walking by if they could send our server to the table. Five minutes later, the server came. She was nice and attended to us thereafter. Our main course came out 15 minutes separate from eachother. The server apologized and took one of the meals off the ticket. They tried to make things right which I appreciated, but disappointed because the other reviews were similar to what we experienced.
The bread and butter was great! Spicy margaritas were so-so.
I'm undecided if I would try it again.
Absolutely fabulous food! We had the Baltimore Benedict, which were made with fresh REAL crab cakes with poached egg and hollandaise sauce on an English muffin, and the smoked salmon benedict. They came with a choice of potatoes or fruit, and everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. Don't skip the beignets - a treat to die for. Really good Bloody Marys, great service with a very attentive but not overbearing server, and very nice ambiance. Don't expect an ocean view, but it is still a beautiful setting away from it all.
Looked online and saw the Twenty/20 grill had good reviews so booked a table for Sunday brunch.
We were seated by the receptionist and after some 25 mins waiting for menu's asked to be served. The waitress explained that nobody had told her we were seated - even though she had been moving around us for the past 25 mins.
Scanning the menu we asked if they had any gluten free selections. The waitress said she didn't know and walked away. My friend asked if they could make an omelette so the waitress said she would ask the kitchen.
On her return she explained that all the omelette making pans had been put away, but could offer us a fried egg. Asking if you can fry and egg you can make an omelette - the waitress simply shrugged her shoulders and said "that what the kitchen said".
When the food arrived it was tasty and plentiful, and the coffee was excellent.
We may have been at an off-time - Holiday at lunch but there were VERY few guests and those that were there were very loud. Very limited lunch menu, loud repair work going on at bar, cleaning person around our table. Overall, not a great experience although it may be better for dinner. Dining room was attractive and may be nice to sit outdoors.
We truly enjoyed the ambiance on the patio late Saturday night. Our filet mignon was cooked to perfection and the scallops were delicous! We went back the next morning for Sunday brunch and loved the cured salmon bagel. The mimosa flight was the highlight of our morning. Both waitresses we had were attentive and friendly!
We will definitely be back soon.
Wonderful food for happy hour, delicious and surprised at half price appetizers when the bill came . Beautiful ocean view, heaters and fireplace also. The music was very pleasant and easy to chat . Great place for friends, a date or special occasion, don't miss it when you are in town
We stayed at the Sheraton and thought to give the restaurant a try, since it seemed to have great online reviews. I chose it mainly for the outdoor seating--there's a large fire pit showcased in all the photos--but when we arrived we were told it was turned off due to (very) light rain/mist. Bummer. Anyway, we sat indoors and I immediately regretted making an 8pm reservation... there were noisy kids everywhere. The hostess wouldn't seat us in a more secluded corner even though the restaurant was half empty. As for the ambiance, it was lacking--too bright lighting, no special decor touches, and the space looks like it could double as a bank. I was content with the food (octopus app was great) as well as the extensive cocktail/wine list. Our server neglected to credit us our two free drinks on the final bill but she quickly corrected the error when we pointed it out. All in all, not a terrible experience but I wouldn't recommend it as anything but a last resort.
Visited restaurant on Feb. 14th 2017.
Our reservation was for 5 pm. In making the reservation thru Open Table I was not aware of need to request patio seating.
Upon arrival at 5 pm, we requested patio seating. We were informed by the hostess that it was not available and was for those customers that requested patio seating in their reservation. The patio area on our arrival was completely open for seating; maybe one or two table occupied at the most. The web site advertises a 1700 square foot seating area. During the time of our dining experience we observed customers being primarily seated inside and maybe up to 10-12 customers taken to patio seating.
When we left at approx.. 6:15 pm, the patio area was not full nor were there customers waiting to be seated at the restaurant entrance.
I understand patio requests, but if there were no patio seating reservations from 5 to 630, why would the restaurant not honor our request for the outside seating. Surely they know the number of reservations and if patio seating was requested.
Will likely not dine at a Sheraton restaurant in the future.
I like the Twenty / 20, because it has good food, a nice atmosphere and a great ocean view. This time we went for New Years Eve. At 6pm you could see LEGO Land's fireworks, the 4 course dinner was excellent, then DJ dance 💃 party and champagne toast. Wonderful, nothing left to wish for, we loved it. It is nice to have something like this in Carlsbad, to not to have to drive far.
HORRIBLE service. Absolutely unacceptable. Despite being nearly empty and have plenty of servers (laughing and talking to each other), it was 10+ minutes until anyone even brought us water. Appetizers took another 10+ minutes to arrive. All 5 water glasses were empty before flagging down someone to fill them. 4 of our five meals came at the same time. The last one finally showed up as we were finishing. Epic service failure (which is too bad because the food was respectable).
