Tuyo Ratings and Reviews
Tuyo was recommended by a friend and it turned out to be an unique experience! I planned it for my anniversary with my better half and it did not disappoint. From the welcoming, to the chef's courtesy bites, the service and food itself, I was left truly satisfied and already can't wait to be back. Exceptional service, staff was really knowledgeable about the items being presented, I did not even flinch and my utensils were constantly being checked upon as well as that warm bread being replaced on the table as the appetizers came. The food was divine, balanced and fresh.. it really set the tone for how well the place looked already. It was a night to remember! Tuyo, you got repeating business in me. :)
I would say this is a hidden gem since it’s atop the culinary school in downtown Miami, and not in a ‘mainstream’ area. Once the elevator doors open you’re immediately greeted with a wonderful city view. The service was as outstanding as the ambiance. Small, but makes up for it in its presentation.
Excellent...perfect setting in downtown Miami.....the front staff made sure I could find the place and the free parking days in advance..... they made it easy to go to the Heat game after by suggesting to park at there free lot ......best wait staff and chef sent a special surprise for me as it was my birthday but nobody in my party made any special requests. Will go back again an again
Nice dining room with great views over to the Freedom Tower and bay beyond.
Excellent attentive service. Good wine list with very reasonable markups.
Food good with wonderful presentation and sensible portion sizes (don’t expect large heaps!). Only issue was way too much salt in my sprouts!
Wish there had been a few more guests to improve the ambience.
Will definitely return and highly recommend.
Beautiful space. Great view of the city. Do know that it’s a preeetty quiet place. Music and ambiance are present, but mildly. The food was great; got a welcoming small bite from the chef, got a bottle of red (great price); had the Squash soup, which was fantastic; I got the Halibut, which was out of this world, and he got the Lamb, also amazing. Only note is that the risotto with the lamb was a little al dente. Otherwise, it was lovely, very chill experience, perfect for a quiet weekday night out. Would absolutely recommend.
The city view is very beautiful as the tables are set near the windows looking out into Miami’s downtown. The waiter was excellent and very considerate. He even helped my date get rid of a ketchup stain accidentally spilled on her white dress. I had chef’s special course for the day, white chocolate mousse cake, and creme brûlée. It was by far one of the best food and desert I had during my stay in Miami.
This place is a hidden gym. Atop the MDC culinary institute, it has great views of dowtown miami. The food was simple but flavorful and creative. We were the first to arrive and the waiter brought out a special item from the chef. It was so delicious. The wait staff was great. Our drinks were great. Overall a very great place.
The service was exquisite, from the moment we walked in to the very end, we even got a private tour of the place. The chef sent us a free appetizer that was delicious. Loved the experience and OpenTable made it easy for me to set up the appointment with a email reminder of my appointment the day before. LOVE IT!!
Tuyo had a reputation I really wanted to check for myself. The reviews were absolutely right. The food is creatively prepared with seasonal and local ingredients. The service was the best I found in Miami where our server was not only knowledgeable about the food and its preparation but about the wine too. This is definitely a great place.
Food is tasty. Not the best portion sizes based on price but the flavors and execution is usually good. I’ve been to Tuyo a few times so this is not based on a single experience. The view is nice and a great view of the Miami Freedom Tower. Also great location close to downtown activities. When they aren’t booked. It’s a great place to eat at. Recently I went an hour before a concert and it was packed. We sat down when we had our reservation and we were provided water and bread. For the first 30min that was all that happened. No other waiter came to the table, nobody attempted to serve additional water or bread. It was extremely poorly managed. It took us getting up out of our seats to tell them about it. Of course we ended up late to our concert. The management didn’t even try to compensate and the waiter just said, that’s what happens in Miami things don’t always start on time. Truly disappointed, not just of the slow service but, in the lack of an attempt to compensate for the mismanagement. As nice as the food is, it doesn’t compensate for the poor management and apathetic service.
Amazing customer service however, when I made my reservations, I specifically requested to sit near the window but apparently when I got there, no one read what i had requested. They sat me in a corner with half of the window view. The best thing in the restaurant was the servers. I give them a 10/10.
The view, and the service were outstanding as always. The food was good, I had the beet carpaccio, it was a bit to vinegary for my taste & my entre was the filet mignon which was cooked to perfection and all very good. My husband had the Foie Gras with a mushroom bread pudding it was very good & for his entre he had the Duck it was good. The wine we choose they were out of for dinner. We had instead a cocktail which was very good, and I had wine which was good. We ordered desert unfortunately, one the components peppercorn Ice Cream had not come out the way chef wanted so they replaced it with another ice cream. But it was not to our liking as neither of us like rum raison, so we skipped desert, better for the waist line. Overall experience ten being the best a 9.
I had heard good things about this downtown Miami hidden gem and wasn’t disappointed. The lunch menu had several interesting items and I settled on a sweet plantain soup that was very unique with a great presentation and best of all, tasted excellent. My grouper entree was equally satisfying and it didn’t break the bank. Fantastic view of the AAA and bay. I will be certain to return soon...with more friends.
