So my friend and I went on a Sunday night to watch a football game and it was completely dead inside. But like I said it was a Sunday night so I’m letting that go. We both ordered margaritas and they were definitely above par for being happy hour drinks. The nachos we ordered however needed work. They were really just chips with melted cheese. They forgot the pico de gallo and the guacamole and to compensate brought out tablespoon sized ramekins one with guacamole and one with pico de gallo. It was actually ridiculous. The bartender who was also the waitress felt bad so she gave us each a free shot but we were still disappointed. Not sure that we will be coming back.
I went to Tuttles Bar and Grill for the first time, and it was a very nice find. My salad, halibut, mashed potatoes and chocolate mousse were all delicious - and the service was great. The only downside was that they weren't seating upstairs, and the bar area had limited seating options. But it was still a great meal.
The worst meal every. Never have I ever paid upwards of $23 for a chicken Caesar salad. As if that wasn't bad enough, the dressing was worse than the packet you get at McDonald's. The worst bottled, after taste imaginable! Ended up sending it back and eating a bowl of lettuce. DISGUSTING!
The bar fair was rather basic and uninspired. If you were to thin up the most generic "hip" bar fair, that would be the menu. Furthermore while I understand it is NYC, 17.25 for guac and chips, in a place where I sharing a rotting picnic table with 8 other people, is way over priced.
We had a very good time, and the service and staff were exceptional!
Let me start by complimenting them, the ambiance is very nice. They have a lovely backyard. The food is good for bar food, only had appetizers. However, the service is very bad. The waitress forgot about us completely. We ordered a round of drinks and ordered the food, never to be seen again by our waitress. We even had to call on the person twice to get our bill. When the bill arrived it was a surprised that we were charged a credit card fee! I've never heard of that in NYC. So i'm paying credit card fee, tax, amount of actual consumption, and tipping for service that was lacking?! On top of that, the waitress messed up on charging the correct credit card amount! Not coming back.
All was great other than the +3% credit card use charge. Next time please also charge me extra for the electric bill. Told manager they should just raise price of beer and drinks 50 cents. I can accepts that better for some odd reason.
Worst service I’ve ever had. Five tables for one incompetent and forgetful waitress. Asked for water and received that 30 mins later. Never received multiple menu items. Watched people walked out without paying as result. Same thing happened on a Friday evening for dinner and a Sunday morning for brunch. Same waitress- same problems. Huge pity.
