1 hour to receive the dishes...
The food was good and the rest is nice. It's fairly expensive, everything is a la carte. Had the Delmonico steak and broccolini. For dessert, the zeppoli (Italian doughnuts) was excellent.
The restaurant is nice but a little noisy. Service was a little slow. I started my meal and was waiting for our server to come by since I wanted another glass of wine. He finally came half way through the meal. Also, he forgot the parm cheese - we had to ask for it.
We also had to ask to turn down the AC - it was 50 outside and chilly inside!
The food was ok, portions a bit small for the price.
Hope that you at least increase your portion size for the prices even though you are a waterfront restaurant. People still want value!
Great location, real good food. Enjoyed our dinners
The restaurant is Italian so there are lots of pasta options but there are also healthy and delicious entrees. My fish was not cooked right and the server immediately took it back and brought me a new dish. No questions asked. Three people followed up afterwards. And it was tasty. The wine selection is also good.
They brought us Champagne to start our meal and Tiramisu to end it. Both complimentary as they knew it was for a special occasion. We will definitely be back and tell all our friends to go there. Thank you!
Service was Terrible and they screwed up a food allergy order
The food was excellent. Many people at the front desk, but they were very distracted at check-in. We ordered two bottles of wine and then had to remind them to bring the second bottle. Wait staff was not coordinated with each other. One of our waiters knocked over our wine. No one else helped clean it up, so we sat there with it all over the floor until our person came back. Other than a brief ‘sorry’ nothing was said. The bottle was replaced, but that was it. The manager either didn’t know or didn’t acknowledge. Happily, no ones clothing was stained. I think. I don’t even want to look at my shoes.
For the price level the service is highly lacking.
great looking restaurant and overall food was good, striped bass portion was gigantic and daunting in size with unappetizing bone sticking out, while lamb chop portion billed as "rack of lamb" was 4 tiny chops, would have been an ok appetizer portion but not an entrée portion. hard to get over the inconsistencies in portion size and presentation.
Mario was amazing and made our dinner extremely pleasurable! From the menu suggestions to the wine descriptions, his knowledge helped us make the perfect selections and our meal/wine did not disappoint. Would come back again just to be served by him and would recommend others do the same.
The restaurant is large and was nearly empty when our party of 4 was seated - right next to the only other occupied table in place. When the party of two next to us finished, they where replaced with another party of 4 having a birthday celebration. We were two couples who don't see each other often, and were trying to catch up, but it was difficult to hear over the noise from the table next to us. I mean come on - really?? The whole restaurant was empty - did they have to jam two tables together.
The food was unremarkable, and certainly not worth the top dollar prices. We won't be back.
Food was good, not over the top amazing, but very pricey for what it was. Service at the table was good, but even with a reservation, we still had to wait to be seated. We decided to grab a drink at the bar while we wait, and that took about another 20 minutes. Over $600 for party of 4. Overall, good ambiance, but probably wouldn't return due to the wait and price.
Dinner with Daughter and boyfriend. Very enjoyable and relaxing.
Total 10+ on the food and the service was even better!!!
Fantastic food and service. Nice views of city. Ask to be sat near windows
Food is very good. Large menu. Excellent service. Nice decor. Noise level is a bit high, and prices expensive. Overall experience was great, but value fair. Handwritten birthday card signed by the team was a nice touch, complimentary chocolate lava cake was excellent.
Food was phenomenal, service was outstanding, will definitely return.
Food quality was poor and portions were small for the prices charged
Had to send two dinners back and ordered something else
Pros are everything.
It was our bnb first time. The food was excellent, but you can tell our waiter was busy and kept forgetting about us. We waited a while for refills on our drinks and had to food runner for our drinks. Besides that we had a great time.
Great food and service! Owner was in and we were seated near him. We had to move because he was so loud and obnoxious. Overall, the place is great, but tell the owner to stay at home.
the food was too peppery for my wife. The people were very nice. The management was concerned.
The restaurant is over-priced.
The food was ok... calamari was typical with heavy breading, served with a fairly good basil aioli. Aside from the aioli, this appetizer could have been found at any entry level restaurant. The prime beef tartare was rather bland. I suppose if you're a purist, the lack of seasoning would be just right and perhaps so if the warm olive oil potato was actually warm. I questioned if the base of the tartare was actually potato or coagulated fat. The quail egg helped the beef slightly but gave me the impression it was put there as a "me too" response to an Iron Chef episode.
The reason I chose to visit Tuscan Kitchen was based to a rave review about the tagliatelle al tartufo which is supposedly made table-side and tossed in a mythical cheese wheel. I was informed that the table-side service is no longer performed... for the prices at Tuscan Ktchen, I want the show to accompany the food. I ordered the tagliatelle regardless and wasn't impressed. The pasta itself was not bad but heavy in butter or oil.
While the food wasn't my favorite, the service was excellent. My wife and I were late for the reservation so I called to let them know. When we arrived twenty minutes beyond our scheduled seating time, they took us in within five minutes. The servers were very attentive, drinks were good and delivered promptly. It's a shame that the food didn't match the service, I'd return if there was something that caught my attention when I tasted it.
Those that review with such high marks have most likely not experienced complex flavors that are developed as a meal is prepared.
Food was excellent. Everything made from scratch with fresh ingredients. Service was outstanding. If our server did not know about a particular meal he got someone who did. Extremely attentive to our table. I would certainly recommend this place.
waiter ricky was awesome, gm made the birthday a special occasion. staff, food, was exceptional.
My first time at the Tuscan Kitchen. I have to say that it was very enjoyable. I was there for a business meeting and was delighted with the service, the food and the atmosphere. I enjoyed it so much that I am planning to bring my family in for dinner.
This restaurant was highly recommended; however, the it didn't live up to the hype. I ordered the soft shell crab with the cioppino. Since I have a shrimp allergy, they made it without shrimp
However, they subbed fish. There were only 6 clams and no other seafood. Not what I'm accustomed to for $47.
To be fair, the pasta was very good!
Our reservations were 20 min late getting seated, but the hostess was gracious about communicating with us. Our drinks were 20 min late in arriving and came after our meals were delivered. They were generous to comp the drinks, but overall they seemed way under staffed and our server seemed to be handling very large parties so he would disappear for long stretches. There were servers dropping dishes every 15 min which means they have a poorly trained staff or rushing due to being understaffed. Great location, but over priced and food was just ok.
We wanted to like TK more but the service was subpar. They started off strong with an attentive staff and then forgot about us! I did see groups of staff talking among themselves but at least my table and two others were in need of either their food, dessert or check for quite some time.
It’s not a cheap place so you’d think they would be more on their game. My suggestion is to have more follow through with each table: just as the manager and sommelier stop by to check in with visitors upon arrival they should do the same as they see the tables winding down. Repeat business is just as important as new business. Don’t think we will be back.
We had an awesome time at Tuscan. The service was impeccable, the food was absolutely amazing and because we were celebrating a birthday in our group, the staff presented the birthday girl with a handwritten birthday card signed by the team. Great Job, I would highly recommend celebrating or just enjoying a great meal at the Tuscan Kitchen.
Overall excellent food and service!
We were a group of seven and we received outstanding service. The food was enjoyed by all.
Wine is a little pricey but the food is excellent and I have never had a bad dish from the menu. Get a table by the window for a little of the downtown Seaport people watching. Waiters are very professional and friendly and knowledgeable about the food. Location is excellent for Seaport.
Amazing experience for my husband and my anniversary. From the extensive wine list, to amazing food with great service!
The food was delicious and well presented but the experience would have been made better by professional service. Little details were missed and mistakes were made with our food order that were preventable. I also feel the ambiance would have been nicer with the TV at the bar turned off.
Loved everything about this restaurant ! Will definitely go back! Perfect for date night❤️
Me and my wife had a great night out at Tuscan, everything was perfect.
I love Tuscan and go there at least once a week. The only thing that bothered me on this past visit was the waitress acting annoyed about a $10 OpenTable credit we had, despite a $200+ bill - just makes the party feel uncomfortable.
Great food at the great location. Service was equally outstanding. Strongly recommend Tuscan Kitchen -Seaport!
To sum up, "Beautiful location but horrible service!" I made a reservation for bar seating for 2 people for this past Sat (8/25/18) at 8:00pm. I booked the place because it was convenient for us to just go upstairs (3rd floor) to watch our 9:30pm movie after dinner. When I walked towards the host, I was told by her bar seating are first come first serve and I can seat on any empty seats. So we walk ourselves to one of the high top table next to the bar. The wait staff placed the utensils and ice water glasses with a long stern face even when we smiled and asked how was his day. As we were checking out the menu, another host came over and told us that we can't sit at the high top table and needed to check with the host as those tables are reserved. We explained that we did talked to the host and was told to find our own seats at the bar area. Now, the restaurant wasn't packed and at this point we decided to just forget it after encountering with 3 people from this restaurant that do not handle this professionally! We walked to nearby Outlook Kitchen and Bar at the Envoy Restaurant and had a great time! Host was clear to seat us promptly, waiter rushed our drinks and dishes we can catch our 9:30pm movie. We are to spend $150 in the right restaurant that provide good customer service and I was glad we changed a different restaurant.
We celebrated our 45th anniversary at Tuscan Kitchen. We were very pleased with the restaurant. While it is a very large space we had a table by the windows which was reasonably quiet and conducive to pleasant conversation. The restaurant was almost full however and there was a pleasant buzz throughout the place. The food was quite good. We shared three plates. The tuna and crispy shrimp appetizer was good but there could have been more shrimp and the sauce was a bit spicy. Both the prosciutto and fruit dish and the mushroom ravioli dish were excellent. The warm chocolate cake for dessert was also excellent. The restaurant acknowledged our special occasion and provided free champagne. The wine list is excellent. Our server was knowledgeable and extremely good. We will return.
