It's a nice cozy restaurant. I'm picky about Italian cuisine but food was good. It's hard to find a good place in Boston area. Yours delicious!
However, we were running late per business meeting on top. I notified the restaurant about it. When we arrived and were seated, we got a complimentary bread only after 40min of waiting on it... I had to remind a waitress about our presence twice. She told me that she was placing orders according to waiting line. That is saying there were only 5 tables busy and we had to wait until they all would decide on meal. Don't you guys have more service staff available for this purpose if it's too crowded (not sure that it was even crowded)? Your clients should be treated according to restaurant's level. We are not paying 3-4USD for food to be treated in this way.
In other word, I would recommend this place only for food but not service level. And it's a pity because, your restaurant is a good place to have business lunch but you have to be well-organized about timing. It took too long.
Beautiful decor and ambiance.
This 3 star will be for this visit. I don’t know if we’ll be back. So me explain.
My family went to Tuscan with 3 of 4 of us dreaming about Tagliatelle al Tartufo.
The service was simply phenomenal. I don’t know if that was because we went at 3pm on a Sunday but I hope it is their standard.
I ordeesa beer and the rest of the group wine.
So far so go. We ordered our appetizers beef tartare, scallop carpaccio and octopus.
Beef tartare was just plain, no flavor.
Scallop carpaccio was good but not great.
Octopus was really good.
So our main and most waiting dish came.
Tagliatelle al Tartufo: first what a disappointment not knowing that they weren’t making at the table anymore. It was that presentation that got our mouths watering.
Ok, so we thought. It still must be amazing despite $45 price tag and a great amount of truffle. Not bashing about the price but we were expecting something exceptional, nothing less.
It tasted just like a microwave frozen food (actually the frozen food I eat taste better). What a disappointment 😫😫
We were expecting a creamy, flavorful great pasta.
I would suggest to not even bother, try something else.
My mother in law had mushroom ravioli and said it was great.
Because service was great, that didn’t hold us down. Our waiter suggested so desserts and we accepted his suggestion.
Good Walnut Frangipane and good Tiramisu. Again nothing exceptional.
So the reason I don’t know whether I’d be back lies only about the food. Will it be a flavorful, tasteful and something to remember to be back? 🤔🤔
Overall, a very good experience. The food was very good and the atmosphere was excellent. Not too noisy. Portion size on the pasta was a bit small for my 23-yr. old son. Otherwise, no complaints.
It was good! Some Apps were a bit pricey for quantity you got. Meals were bit pricey for the quantity as well
Had a reservation and still had a long wait to be seated. The food was served cold to luke warm. We were intending to celebrate a birthday and a visit with out of town friends. This restaurant doesn't deserve a visit, overpriced and under performance.
All aspects of the meal were good. The only thing I had an issue with was that the noise level was very loud. I understand there is not much you can do about that in a large restaurant.
Great food, courteous service, nice bar scene, great space. The only detractor firvys was a young, not sufficiently trained server. She was courteous and friendly but she could not keep details straight and was not attentive enough. She forgot requests and didn’t follow up often. I hope the restaurant improves training practices.
I have been to other Tuscan Kitchen restaurants. The Boston restaurant has it better than any other one I have been to. Other than a bit loud, the atmosphere was fabulous. Seaport is a happening place. I am no kid.......
The wait staff was extremely attentive, water glasses always full, cocktail napkins in place. The waitress we served was adorable and a great sense of humor.
on arrival were seated promptly service came to table fairly fast ordered a bottle of wine i thought there selection was reasonably priced when we sat down there was a happy birthday card on our table signed by the staff which was a nice touch we were a party of two they sat us by a window which they have several table for two along the windows service was fine as well as the food they also gave my wife a complementary dessert as well for her birthday all and all pleasant experience one note there is a parking garage in the building you do not have to go outside if you do not want to
Fyi..restaurant has No valet. $18. To park around the corner. Other nice restaurants in area have valet.
It was a Loud and large space ..no intimate dining areas.
Waitress not happy to see us. Did not smile. We felt rushed through the menu and choosing our food. For no reason because there were empty tables around us.
3 out of 4 diners hated or were disappointed with food. Apps were fine and bread and oil starter were ok. My short rib pasta dish should be removed from menu. It was 5 cold rubbery raviolis filled with cheese and no short rib to be found. Sauce was an inexcusable salty wine gravy. I sent this back. My husband ordered salmon. It was served grey mushy skin side up and dry as a bone on top of a spoonful of corn and butternut squash cubes. My sister had the pork chop and said it was good. Her husband had surf and turf and ordered it med -rare. It came well done like a hockey puck and the few scallops were sandy.
We ordered 2 Desserts . Two tiny scoops of gelato (the gelato is $18.00) and zeppoli / italian donutholes and cappuccinos were only ok.
Shame on the owners/management! They did take raviolis off bill that were sent back... but never apologized.
A Complete disappointment considering we have dined at the Tuscan kitchen in northern mass and it was very good.
We will never go to the Boston Tuscan Kitchen again.
We were all very disappointed. From the dirty dishes & silverware to the lack of attention and professionalism of our waiter. The food was good, but not worth the price tag or a second chance. Sorry, too many choice in the area.
This was a great choice for our group dinner. It was conveniently located near the Westin hotel (walking distance). The atmosphere was perfect. Great surroundings with plenty of activity yet it was not so loud that you could not have a conversation at a normal conversation level. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Had the steak for 2 and it was perfect. Excellent seasoning and cooked to perfection. But as good as the food was along with the location the staff really sets this up for a great experience.
Great overall experience. The restaurant is quite beautiful and the portion sizes are huge.
Pricey for the amount of food
We had a wonderful experience, from the convenient parking under the restaurant to the atmosphere and the delicious food! My wife loved the halibut with the amazing parsnip purée and my salmon was dynamite! Our drinks were on point and our server was excellent! We also appreciated the manager coming to our table to check on us. This was our second time here and we will definitely be back.
Wonderful night and the table for 6 was right by the window
only issue is its very expensive....overpriced even but the drinks and food were really good!
We visited on Saturday after Thanksgiving around noon. There were very few customers but that might be a function of the holiday weekend. Lunch menu had enough selections but several of the items seemed like small servings. Another guest had a steak pannini and this seemed more substantial. Example grilled shrimp and risotto was three shrimp and a scoop of risotto. I was hungry and this was not filling. Wine prices are a bit high for both glasses and bottles. Service was good but there was some confusion with the leftover pizza we wanted to take home and it was thrown out by mistake. They did mot hesitate to replace without or asking which was a plus. Thsi is worth a try if you like Italian and are in the Seaport area.
We had a great dinner at Tuscan Kitchen. I had read previous reviews about slow service; however, our experience was the opposite. Our server Ricky was outstanding! Highly knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive. The meal was paced perfectly. The food was very good. The mushroom ravioli was outstanding, as was the lobster ravioli. The prosciutto was delicious with herbs and honey. Best Tiramisu I’ve had in a long time. Big restaurant with good atmosphere, lots of options for seating.
Beautiful restaurant, excellent meal and service. The tagliatelle al tartufo was amazing!
Kayla is an outstanding waitress
We will definitely be back. Food quality was fantastic. Halibut was among the best we’ve ever had. Portions are smaller/lighter than other Italian in the same neighborhood, but excellent quality. Service was very friendly, but not as polished as I expected. (Curt hostess, staff members gathered and chatting ugh each other on the floor, staff on their phones texting) but friendly. We will definitely return.
Delicious pasta and great wine! We really enjoyed all of our appetizers as well. Plus they have a separate gluten free menu.
The wait time from order to getting food on table was 40 minutes + which killed the experience. The food was amazing but the wait time and service made me feel not to go thier again :(
Great food. Fun atmosphere. On our most recent visit, we had excellent service and a great table with a beautiful view of the Seaport area. The food was delicious. We look forward to be back with friends and family. Thank you.
service was horrible..waiter was poor..we were forgotten......food was good..was very expensive for what we had...I guess boston prices..more reasonable in salem..
Tuscan kitchen was a great night out celebrating a special occasion. The service was impeccable and the food was delectable. The ambiance is beautiful and has a little something for everyone from a lively bar scene to a quieter traditional table/booth setup. It’s a bit on the pricey side but that’s pretty much expected with Tuscan brands given everything is artisanal and “homemade”. Lobster ravioli is HIGHLY recommended. Will definitely return for a splurge.
Pretty setting with good food and service, however, the noise level was beyond energetic. It was difficult to conduct conversations and enjoy the setting with all the background noise.
The food was good but the service wasn’t great. We were served the wrong bottle of wine but waiter argued it was correct so we didn’t make a big deal of it as it was a business dinner. I thought the waiter could have handled that better rather than dismissing our question about this.
Good food - nice setting. Spotty service - slow. But they were more than fair in addressing the issue.
We had a wonderful time celebrating a birthday. The food was delicious! We just returned from Southern Italy and feel the food was very authentic.
Too loud but great food, great decor and service
Outstanding food especially the pasta
Unbelievable service. Food is out of this world. I can't say enough good things about this place.
I was attended by an excellent server his name is Diego. His attention was amazing, He explained everything about the food and drinks. However the food was so delicious. Definitely I really recommend this restaurant to other people who want to have a good time. I hope to come back soon.
We appreciated the very attentive service and management presence (Anil is a new welcome addition.) The burrata was excellent but enormous - I took half of it home so I could enjoy the courses that followed.
Mario is the best waiter EVER. And Charlie makes sure everyone is happy
Given the price, we expect much better food and experience!
Good was fabulous, service was so so. Asked server for some parmesan cheese which never arrived.
A great Seaport District find. On time seating. Loved the atmosphere, menu choices. Taylor was a great server. Food was wonderful !
