Excellent as always
The place is amazing, but be prepared to be there a while. Very Italian tradition of taking there time between apps/entree/dessert.
My wife ordered a salad with salmon, which she didn't finish because of the overcooked salmon. I ordered ravioli which had great flavor but was cold. The Caesar salad was tasty and the cocktails were good. Not sure if I'd hurry back here as the value was simply not there.
1. After making a reservation through OpenTable (well in advance), the hostess could NOT find my reservation. I was questioned how and when the reservation was made, so I informed her it was through OpenTable. It took too much time to find it, causing much embarrassment.
2. Even with a reservation, the seating was at a table directly in front of the servers work station. This was quite a busy and noisy area, causing a lot of distractions for us.
3. Food was only 'ok' and slightly on the cool side AND the portions were small. In all, it wasn't worth the price - nor value.
4. Service however was great. Our server was very pleasant and provided professionalism with a smile.
NOTE: Tuscan Kitchen has my permission to contact me via email, until such time I may provide my cell number for a chat.
Restaurant is very nice and provides a atmosphere. Would recommend for a true taste of Italy meal.
Food was very good, however we were expecting more food for the price paid. Small portion sizes were the only downfall.
The portions seemed very small and the food was average at best…there too many great Italian options out there to have to settle for this. To me this was on par with Olive Garden
The food was excellent and so was the service. From the drinks to the dessert, we were in heaven.
It was just ok. Have been to Salem and Burlington and they were much better. Was really disappointed
My salad / grilled shrimp, was so small I left hungry, really? what you mentioned in the ingredients was hardly there. A SALAD. I had been there before for lunch and gotten a lot better. Don't be so stingy on the food. I don't mind paying a bit more for excellent food with ambiance but come on.
We have had excellent experiences at the Salem NH location. Portsmouth was not good. We were there 2 hours and only had an entree and dessert. Waiter forgot most of the order and kept having to reorder things
Food was delicious...’large’ portion is more like a ‘small’ portion unfortunately- hubby was still hungry when we left....
Great ambiance and service
We had a party of 6 and Britney was our server. She was fantastic and went above and beyond.
First visit, food was very good but a little on the pricey side. Service was very good but we wanted to dine and server came by very often.
Everyone from the hostesses to our wonderful waitress was happy and friendly. Our waitress gave some good menu suggestions.
Superb food and service.Nice and quiet on a Sunday night.
My wife and I are foodies and enjoy trying new restaurants. The good was overpriced and middle of the road.
Service was horrible. Our meal took 2 hours. My fiancee's order was wrong
Amazing food, fantastic service!
Delicious food, very attentive and knowledgeable waitress - an all around pleasant experience!
Celebrated our 4 year anniversary here and it was a memorable night. With amazing service! And to die for food. I didn’t feel eating anything else for the next few days after.
Love this restaurant. The only reason for the 4 stars...we had the bar tender for our waiter and he forgot us so we waited longer. But, he was sweet and pleasant and excellent food as always.
We had a wonderful meal and a great time with friends. Our server, Stacey, was exceptional and very knowledgeable in helping with our food choices.
Birthday but have been here often
The meals were fine no complaints, however, they do not meet the expectations of price. Nothing extraordinary about the atmosphere.
Great food although very overpriced and ala carts menu. 7 ravioli for $25. No salad or veg.
Andrew was an outstanding server! Keep him around for as long as you can.
A restaurant with surprisingly attractive decor (including a cosy fire), attentive staff, and fine food, wine, and cocktails. First presented with a semi-circular banquette as seating for the group of us, we opted to avoid proximity to television (which all in my set abhor in restaurants) and bar noise volume and move to a table by the fire and the chefs, which made all the difference along with the delicious food, if maybe on the higher end of even Portsmouth prices . . . nice live music in the background, too.
Great place for lunch or dinner in an elegant atmosphere!
i have eaten at the Salem location several times and was there for the Boston opening and dinner later. This was by far the best for conversation during dinner. Salem and Boston are very noisy . The food is as always very good!
First time here & very disappointed. Lets start with the pro's. Wait staff was friendly & knowledgeable. Good ambiance & clean.Food flavors were spot on excellent. Con's. DON'T go hungry! very small portions & large price tag. I had the QUATTRO FORMAGGI RAVIOLI small portion for $13.00. Got 3 average size (2x2) ravioli with tomato sauce & a few small pieces of spicy sausage. Also got the WOOD ROASTED SCALLOPS from the small taste menu for $9.00. you get 4 bay scallops rapped is pancetta. Now the flavors were great but portions are appetizer/child size with a new York price tag.
If you have some extra money & want to taste some great food but DO NOT GO HUNGRY.
My main dish was cold (sausage and potatoes). Server was great and overall experience was pleasant.
I love the food here, the service is great, and its a realy nice looking place. I also love the butchery. I have found some great items to take home and eat. This is great.
The server was great. We thoroughly enjoyed our early New Year's eve dinner. Save room for the creative desserts, too!
Everything was great but the steak portion was small for me.
First time there, amazing service and food. Every pasta and bread is handmade, if you love fresh homemade pasta this is the place to go. Will definitely go back.
Very disappointing. Utensils and dishware for both of us was dirty. Food OK at best. Felt like chain.
We came to Tuscan Kitchen for a family gathering after a movie. Children enjoyed their pizza and adults all very happy with their meals (Salmon was excellent.) Not too noisy to converse with 8 people at our table. Cheerful, efficient waitstaff patient with children.
This was our second year selecting Tuscan Kitchen for our Christmas Eve dinner. This year was so very different. Not sure if the chef changed. My son and I order the chicken parm...it was burnt and the rigatoni was cold. Our waiter was very absent minded....not sure if he was overwhelmed or new. Not the same experience as the year before. Not sure we will try again.
This was my first time eating at the Portsmouth location and had a wonderful time. All of the food was amazing and the service was excellent. I will definitely return.
