Great atmosphere and impeccable service!. Very pricey but for a special occasion, it is well worth it!
I'd like to try dinner for my next celebration.
I have taken many guests there since the beginning of this year. But this last visit was very disappointing. Food was terrible, service was slow and drinks took forever to get. Will not be going back.
Loved the atmosphere! Food was okay, not worth the price tag. Drinks were good. Waiter didn’t give his name but did a good job. Went for anniversary dinner, but probably won’t go back due to food quality.
A beautiful restaurant. Clubby...like the Polo Lounge or “21” in NYC. Great wait staff.
Beautiful dining room! Beat date spot in Houston!
Great food and service. Feels like a private club no matter what time of day it is...
Excellent Place with a whole different experience. Small and stylish with fantastic service and fare.
Turners never disappoints !
Great experience at Turners!
Great Staff and service sitting at the bar for a light early dinner. Enjoyed having a Vesper martini for the first time.
Beautiful ambiance. Loved the piano player and singer. The service was awesome and the food was great. We can't wait to go back.
ambiance, service and food are always outstanding. It's our favorite dining experience
As hard as this restaurant makes you believe it is to get into. With a pretty good fare and extraordinary service, this restaurant will keep its competitive place in the city with more restaurants per capita than anywhere I know of.
Emphasis on extraordinary service, Oscar is the best-trained server I might have ever encountered. Just to watch him was part of the fun there.
Part of the reservation problem is this is a very small restaurant set up in the former wine cellar of Cafe Annies upstairs.
Beautiful space. Reminiscent of Houston's best, elegant dining venues. One of my guests referred to the space as being like one of those out of the way, to be found, downstairs dining venues so cherished by New Yorkers. I agree. But, food was only good. Prepared correctly but not special. Service was difficult. We were seated at 12:30 (our reserved time), served drinks and a pre-appetizer by 1:00 but entrees, not complicated primarily appetizers and entree salads, weren't on the table until 2:15. Frustration rose to, at one point, I was in the process of calling the restaurant from my table hoping to attract attention --- but hung-up as I was able to catch a server at another table's eye. Given other maybe not so elegant but superior food and service lunch options in Houston, I doubt we will return any time soon. I have given ownersihp a heads-up about our experience. They are impactful restaurateurs who, I am confident, will be mindful of each customer's experience and feedback. Although I am indicating "Yes" in response to "Would you recommend Turner's to a friend?" I would do so with a heads-up as to managing their expectations given our recent experience.
My girlfriends and I had no idea what we were getting ourselves into, but our dinner at Turners ended up being the best 3.5 hours of the year so far (and probably much of 2020, too!) and we can’t wait to go back. Vic, our waiter, was so informative and even told us little details about the chef, the food, and the service that we never would have known otherwise. It made our experience that much better and elevated the whole night. The barrel aged old fashioned was the best we’ve ever had (and we had a whisky connoisseur at the table!) and we’ll be going back for that alone, but every item on our table was absolutely divine. From the oysters and lobster to the table side, hand cut bacon on the wedge, and the biscuit service to the famous coconut cake- every single morsel was as if we were tasting it for the first time. The atmosphere was so enjoyable, as well. Social distancing was already a part of their 11-table set up and the ambiance was so perfectly complimentary to the meal that it made the evening absolutely perfect. Vic and the rest of the wait staff were simply impeccable! We can’t wait to go back!
We had a great time and will definitely go back!
Delicious food and outstanding service in an elegant environment.
Best date spot in Houston! Everything was perfect. Will be back.
It was a lot of fun I’ve been there about seven or eight times now. We came with some friends that I’ve never been They really liked it as well.
Excellent food and service!! We will be back!!
A wonderful gem of a place! Worth every penny, they make you feel like royalty. Ambiance, piano music, food and service is stellar.
Great dinner to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. Everything was exceptional.
Everything was great, except for our mains. Veal chop was awful and filet was not good. Everything else was wonderful, but hard to pay high price for main meat course that literally was downright bad. Almost tasted like you all froze the meat and thawed it out due to the storm. Very disappointed since the service and venue was top shelf.
Our experience at Turner’s was second to none. Vic, our server, made sure that we were not only well taken care of, but that we had fun! He was so kind, so thorough, funny and perfectly attentive. The food was outstanding - probably one of the best meals either of us has ever had. We decided to splurge for our anniversary and went with the Wagyu filet and Lobster Thermador. The filet was buttery perfection with a potato cake accompaniment that was indescribably delicious. The lobster thermador was as rich and delicious as anyone could hope. Fabulous cocktails and live piano made for a truly perfect evening in a beautiful, intimate but not at all stuffy environment. We will return to Turner’s again and again. Our new special occasion destination!
Turners is a very elegant and very sophisticated style restaurant. Food and service is exceptional . Excellent place or romantic dinner for 2 or specially occasion dinner with few good friends. Highly recommend
Lovely room, bit too loud, food was covered up with extra unnecessary food stuffs. Extremely over priced. Will not go again
Our first time at Turner’s did NOT disappoint! The ambiance was great and the food amazing.
We were here for the 3rd time. Double date. This time it was disappointing. My lobster pasta with truffles was just sort of ok, and at $100- I expected amazing. It really didn’t need to lobster. Or the truffles. One of the two would’ve been better. Service was pretty awful. We couldn’t understand our waiter. My friend had to send his steak back- it was just a bad cut if meat. I love the ambience and the music, but sad that the rest was just subpar.
OMG, first time here (not our last). Yes, it is expensive compared to the average dinner out. But, well worth the $$ considering the ambiance, exceptional service & delicious eats. Piano Bar was a great surprise. Wine selections were wonderful (though expensive) for me anyway. We made it work & left 100% satisfied & happy.
Such an incredible dinner and ambiance! Perfect evening!
Food and service was outstanding as usual
Small & intimate- very much reminded me of a London hotel lounge. Our server Craig was courteous, competent, and considerate. The carpaccio was delicious! My only suggestion would be to bring the wine pricing a little more in line with some of the city’s other popular restaurants. I liked that there were choices not commonly found, but it was clear that pricing was 3X and more (except some of the DRC).
Its a very small place. Thats good for intimacy, Bad for last minute or larger party reservations. Wonderfully decorated. The staff is exceptionally attentive and skilled at what they do. The food and cocktails were divine.
Excellent food! Great atmosphere and wonderful staff!
Service was amazing, ambiance was amazing. The food was just ok. Soups were luke warm , chicken and dumplings were awful. Steaks were just ok
Food and service is always outstanding. Five star rating!!!
Our first time here and very excited when we walked in. Swore we were back in NY. But thats were it stopped. Good service but very rushed. Very odd and expensive (NY prices) for food that was less than average. NO, I repeat, NO social distancing. Tables inches apart. Credit card checkout is the european style that thy bring to the table and everyone in the restaurant holds before the night is over. Very, very noisy. We were seated by the paino and literally had no chance after he started playing of talking to my wife. Turner has great ideas and concepts, but the absolute worse execution to ever get me back.
Always love dining at Turners. Service and ambiance exceptional.
We were rushed. They kept asking if we wanted a box. We had only been there a short time. It was not busy so I’m not sure why they kept rushing us. Nice place but don’t need that.
Excellent family dinner. Very elegant and a great menu. Loved it.
The decor and ambiance are timeless and feel like an authentic homage to a slower pace of life and dining from years past.
The food is decadent yet elegant. Price point is high but you get quality food and appropriately sized portions.
The piano is lovely and the singer was top notch.
Service was attentive and knowledgeable without being intrusive.
It was a bit of a tight squeeze for COVID times but they seem to be doing their best given the constraints of a smaller establishment.
Looking forward to having another reason to celebrate there soon!
