Turkuaz takes its name from the turquoise colored sea in Turkey and Mediterranean and brings both a culinary experience and an ethnic one to NYC. We started twenty years ago, in the Upper West Side and moved to Midtown West in 2019. Our food is healthy and flavorful, with a lot of Turkish and Eastern Mediterranean delicacies, our service is friendly and professional and our atmosphere is romantic and transporting. Our location is ideal for theater crowd and tourists. Whether you are on your own and are looking for a quick bite, or you want to spend time with your sweetheart or friends, you will have a great time at Turkuaz.     I've been meaning to try this restaurant, which relocated to Hell's Kitchen from the UWS not long ago. I was very pleased with the quality of the food, which certainly places it among the better Turkish restaurants in NYC. The mantı, stuffed cabbages, and mixed grill are all excellent choices.

    The food was very very delicious and the Turkish server (who I have a feeling may have been an owner) was absolutely wonderful and took the time to discuss some of the food items with us. This was a wonderful find.

    Outstanding mezze and mains -- especially the eggplant dishes. Homemade bread was terrific. Service above and beyond. Although many of the dishes appear to be standard Turkish fare, the quality -- subtle flavors, fresh ingredients, textures -- were far above the average Turkish restaurant.

    We really enjoyed our meal at Turkuaz. We sat in the patio which was lovely. The food was so well prepared and delicious. The bread- absolutely outstanding. The waitstaff was friendly, professional and knowledgable. We'll definitely be back!

    Temperature of food not hot enough. Had Turkish dumplings for appetizer- was barely warm and very expensive- $28 for app! Also had stuffed cabbage this was good and hot , portion too small only 4 small rolls nothing else included . Asked to be seated upstairs - arrived 20 mins early for reservation at 6:30 pm . Said we would wait for table / they insisted we sit downstair in order To be seated right away.Very dark hard to read menu. Also had table of 3 across from us the guy was very loud (drank too much wine?) and spoke for 20 mins + about his dental work - root canal etc . Really??? This is dinner for Christ sake who wants to hear about your oral problems!! Would I return? Yes probably but will insist on a table upstairs where it is brighter and more cheerful

    Expensive not impressed presentation of main dish awful. Hummus was very good though. Slow service when complained about food told that's what it is, no offer of anykind.didnt care assumed we were tourists.

    Service was great. food was OK at best, nothing special. Bread was great, but they charge $5 if you want more!! Prices were ridiculous, especially for what you received. There are much better Turkish restaurants in the same neighborhood for much more reasonable prices.

    We recently wanted to celebrate a birthday with our immediate family and we made a reservation at the Turkuaz Restaurant located on W. 53 St. This was our first visit to the restaurant and this neighborhood eatery exceeded our expectations and is a “hidden gem”. Due to the size of our group, they offered us the relatively private Wine Cellar space in their basement. Fantastic, like being in your own residence. The excellent relaxed service was very professional and friendly. Most of the Turkish dishes were shareable, fresh and tasty. This is the type of restaurant you visit often! Thanks.

    I went with my wife to celebrate our 25th anniversary. One of the coldest nights in March. The restaurant was very cozy and comfortable, and the food was delicious. I’m definitely bringing my family next time.

    My wife, grandson, and I enjoyed delicious dinner and attentive service for dinner. The lamb kabobs were of generous portions, tastefully seasoned, and attractively presented. My wife enjoyed the plate of grilled vegetables. Thank you for an excellent pre-theatre dinner.

    The lam was really delicious! We also had to be in and out as we were going to Carnegie hall and the lovely staff accommodated our timeline easily. Great restaurant.

    I have high standards and have eaten at some of the greatest restaurants in the World, so the fact that I do not give a restaurant five stars doesn't mean I was disappointed. This restaurant far exceeded expectations and I will return. The Babaganoush was excellent, perhaps the best I have ever had. The grilled meat, a simple presentation, could not have been better. My wife's appetizer, a cross between Spanakopita and Crispy Spring Rolls, gets 6 stars out of 5. We were going to the theater and wanted a meal without a lot of brain damage so we could relax before the show and Turkauz definitely delivered.

    Very attentive and polite wait staffs. Decor is simple but beautiful. The place was full but it was quite, friendly & cozy that one just like to stay and dine. Good & dessert were scrumptious. Will definitely go back again and will recommend this restaurant to friends & families.

    We had reservations then we arrived they put us in the basement. Low ceilings and well I felt like we were bad and that is where they put us, fake candle on table was nice. Upstairs was much brighter and lots of people having fun. Food was ok. We have been to Turkey and was expecting lots of spices and sauces. Had cheese rolls for appetizers, needed some kind of sauce. Our meal was very bland with just plain white rice, for the price it was very boring and blah.

    Went on a weekday. Was well received. Service was excellent and prompt. Their "glass of wine" servings are very generous, lol. Food was almost perfect. If I hadn't been to Turkey I would give it a perfect score. My only gripe was that tables are not socially distanced.

    Great atmosphere. Very cozy, and intimate. Everything is clean, and inviting. Food is very good, to excellent. Portions are of a good size. People complain about the service… it wasn’t bad… just that the staff does not come to check on you very often, and rather than everyone helping out as they walk by your table… you’re forced to wait until you see your waiter to get attended to. They are very friendly, and personable however. I would definitely recommend this place, and will be coming back.
