As far as authentic Persian experiences go, Turkish Cuisine in the Hell's Kitchen District really cannot be beat. Once you step foot in this place you will feel that you have been transported direct to the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. The donor kebabs are highly sought after, as is the Turkish coffee for lunch. With the abundance of fresh vegetables served with every dish at Turkish Cuisine, you really cannot go wrong.
For a cultural experience, consider taking the family to Turkish Cuisine for your next gathering. The menu contains a bit of everything, so even the most discerning of taste buds are likely to find something that appeals.
Good food
Good service
Good price
The trifecta in New York
Despite our reservation, they had no table. Tried to set us up at a non-dining table in the rear -- between the manager's area and the restroom. We left without eating.
Nice meal with family, a bit high priced on the desserts.
This restaurant was chosen randomly, but I was so pleased with my experience I went back the following day for a post-theater meal. The food was fresh, flavorful and authentic. The service and atmosphere stellar. I will definitely make this as one of my stops on my next trip to NYC.
Awesome service and delicious food.
Always love eating at Turkish Cuisine, the food is amazingly tasteful and full of surprise flavors.
Always lovely food, service and ambience.
This was our second visit for a pre-theater meal. Overall, the food and service were excellent. Even the "no-name" chardonnay was reasonably good. The lamb shish was very tender, properly cooked and delicious. There were two disappointments. The first, to some extent beyond their control, was the outside noise from ambulance and police sirens, which was accentuated by leaving the door open. The more important issue - and completely their fault - is that the lamb chops dinner special, which was extolled by our server, was not available. That was not made known until after they began delivering our starters. The substitute lamb dish was a bit tough but still tasty.
Well prepared, attractively presented, very tasty and warm, friendly service. We the bosses' grandmother's lamb recipe that was outstanding. What more can one want?
I have been here many times, it doesn't disappoint, ever. Food is varied and always delicious. I try new things every time I go and I am always happy with choices. Wait staff is very friendly and accommodating. Just a very good place to go before a show or just because you are in the nabe.
Great place for excellent Turkish food. Portions are large.
Our party of 16 was greeted with open arms and treated as royalty. The appetizer platters were outstanding and the mains included the Bronzino, Lamb, Chicken and Vegetarian dishes which were fresh, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The multiple options served for dessert with the Turkish Coffee topped the evening's meal. I can't think of a better place for us to celebrate our 35th anniversary with friends. I would highly recommend Turkish Cuisine for a truly wonderful authentic NYC culinary experience.
Great value. Like visiting Istanbul in mid-Manhattan.
ALWAYS great food and friendly service. Highly recommended.
I've visited here several times and have been delighted with the food. It is fresh & deliciously prepared. Well worth a visit!
Outstanding Turkish Cuisine in this cozy restaurant. Also allow a modest BYOB corkage fee of only $15 bottle. Will make this a go to when in town.
Excellent every time!
Turkish food was good. Fish was over cooked
We loved the service, our waitress was attentive yet not intrusive, wonderful food
We loved the food. The service was excellent. The wait staff was delightful, professional and vey patient while we were deciding. We arrived early but were seated and offered drinks pita bread and hummus. Our friend is vegan and he was thrilled with the numerous choices on the menu. WE will be returning for another terrific dinner
Excellent restaurant if you want a place that is not too loud and with excellent food.
We have been coming to this restaurant for many years when we visit NYC. It never disappoints.
We were looking for a place that had character, good food, was intimate, and could accommodate a few different dietary needs. We found Turkish Cuisine and couldn't be happier. This is charming, tastefully-decorated gem and the food was delicious. Members of our party who had various dietary needs were also very pleased (Gluten & dairy-free, Keto, etc.). The best part of our experience was the service. From the time we arrived the staff was friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had a great experience. Our waitress was friendly, informative, and attentive. We were even given a complimentary dessert for the table and a round of tea on the house. Whereas a lot of dining experiences near theaters can feel anonymous, this was a unique experience that added its own charm to our evening. I'd definitely recommend it and will return!
I love this place.
A warm and friendly neighborhood restaurant. Delicious Turkish food. Steps, away from the theatre district, but away from the insanity of Times Square.
Way overpriced. Meat was super tough and dry. Flies all over the restaurant.
What a great find and perfect for pre theater!! Authentic Turkish cuisine since we had just returned a month prior from Turkey!
This restaurant is a fine choice if you're looking for an ok experience. Food is ok. Service is ok. It's close to theater district, which is perfect. It is ridiculously noisy when it's full. Very loud (not "energetic," just too loud.) On a recent hot Saturday night the a/c wasn't working that well so we literally schvitzed into our meal. There are much better Turkish restaurants in NYC and NJ, so seek them out and go (Dayi’nin Yeri - Cliffside Park, NJ). There's nothing wrong with this restaurant, it's just not an amazing restaurant worth 4 or 5 stars.
A little too pricey for me.
We enjoyed our meal in the garden. The food was very good.
We had a fantastic family dinner at Turkish Cuisine. The traditional Turkish decorations and music were the perfect backdrop for the delicious food we enjoyed. The lamb and eggplant dish was amazing and the branzini has my daughter dancing in her seat! Their lemonade was also very good. But perhaps most of all, the friendly wait staff really made our night. We bonded over Turkish culture and left feeling like we were leaving friends. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend for a pleasant dining experience!
I eat here when I'm in NY 4-5 times per year. Always great food, rarely too crowded. It works well for meat eaters as well as vegetarians. The fresh mint tea is great BTW.
My best restaurant experience in NYC during my stay!! Food, prices, service, ambiance and courtesy are top notch!!
There was a very large party in the restaurant -- at least 20 persons. This made the smallish restaurant quite noisy and the service very slow. I would assume that under normal circumstances it will be quieter and the service will be quicker. The food, however, was superb. We'll definitely go again. p.s. Be sure to try the Turkish beer.
Lovely ambience and service. Delicious food. My lamb kabob with yogurt came on a base of pita which was unexpected as I try to eat gluten free. The dish description did not mention this. All they said was that it did not come with rice or vegetable. Next time I will need to ask more questions. The stuffed small egg plants were delightful.
The location of Turkish Cuisine is excellent for before the theater. The food was very good, with good sized portions. We shared two appetizers and one main course. One appetizer and a main would have been enough. The service was excellent and the pita was delicious. The only small complaint was the noise level. It was quite loud. Nevertheless, I would recommend it and I will eat there again.
I like this restaurant very much, have been going there for years. It was much noisier than usual this time, though.
Fabulous restaurant with friendly staffs, great ambiance and superb, authentic food. We have been coming here for years and will continue to come back.
Delicious Turkish Food. Way better than Kashkaval Gardens.
Terrific food. Good prices. Relatively quiet. And the staff were friendly and yet left us to our conversations
We ate here for lunch on a Sunday. The portions were far too large for lunch -- we would have preferred to pay less for smaller portions. Most of the items on the menu were basically the same (with a choice of chicken or lamb). However, the waitstaff was very prompt and accommodating and the restaurant decorations were delightful.
