The food was almost as excellent as the view! Our waiter was friendly and prompt. One of the best spots in the area! HIGHLY Recommend!
It was nice. We sat outside food was cold when we got there but it was still a nice time
I have enjoyed this restaurant many times, and would recommend it for casual affair, however, I was very displeased that my most recent reservation was not honored. Last night, I made a reservation, drove 15 minutes to the restaurant and as I was pulling into the parking lot, I received a call and they told me they had changed their hours and not updated their account
Positive experience
Our waitress was incredible,
Food delicious! Dining area modern with a touch of class. Would make the trip out again
The view was beautiful and the sports on TV were entertaining. The cheese curds were delicious!
Amazing food will definitely return when in the area
Highly recommend
It took 30 minutes total for someone to come over to our table to greet us. I had to tell the hostess 20 minutes within that 30 minutes that no one had greeted us. The server who finally did greet us was very friendly and provided decent service. The food was amazing. I wished for a resort of this nature would have had better overall service when it took over 30 minutes for us to be greeted.
Decided to try this restaurant mostly for convenience of location. We arrived late for our reservation however we were seated promptly; service was very friendly and attentive considering the variety of things happening at the location. As a party of six including children, we tried various things. We sampled some specialty cocktails which were delicious. We all agreed sandwiches were good and the bbq sauces at the table were very good as well. Things to definitely skip that were Absolutely disappointments are as follows : The Cheese Curds ! Awful- no cheese inside the tasteless batter. Onion Rings looked delicious but again no flavor in the batter. Perhaps the saddest thing was we ordered 2 skillet cookies and ice cream ( they were out of maple ice cream so we choose brandy) The cookie is NOT A SKILLET COOKIE - it is the chocolate chip cookies they include with the kids meal😡 . The ice cream was fabulous and we didn’t want to go out of our way to hassle the waitress about the crappy cookie but we did tell her we were disappointed with dessert- paid our bill and left. All in all not a bad place for sandwiches or drinks but I’d skip the appetizers and desserts.
I believe both the kitchen and wait staff were slammed on Presidents Day and the Ice Castle crowds. By the time the food was served, it was cold.
(Extremely cold weather was a contributing factor.) The burgers and tacos were very tasty. We will come back in warmer weather. Definitely want to try it again.
Food was mediocre at best. Service was terribly slow. They have the exit to the ice castles go thru the restaurant, which is a poor design because the door constantly is opening and letting cold air into the restaurant. Never have I had to wear winter coat and hat while eating and still was cold.
Waited almost a hour for a burger and wings, for a carryout order RIDICULOUS!
Food was meh, nothing special. bartender & waitress were great. While restaurant was FREEZING because the double doors kept opening to public, we both left our WINTER coats on the ENTIRE dinner, what a bummer on our Valentines date
The staff was friendly and accommodating to our large group including kids.
The food was just okay, some of the brisket was burned and hard. Some of the chicken was dried out and the fries were hard. The only thing that was good was the corn bread.
Ice castle
BBQ food was very good. Cheerful atmosphere. It was Ice Castle day so a lot of traffic, but fine. Very enjoyable.
Food at breakfast was so good we went two mornings in a row!
Since experiencing the Turf restaurant several times, I have recommended eating there to many visitors who have come into Delaney Street Mercantile. They have had Ice Castle reservations and continually ask where they should eat before or after they go. I have highly recommended the Turf for it's smoked entrees as we were thoroughly delighted with the food, service as well as the fantastic view. Prices are par and service was excellent.
Excellent food. Would highly recommend. Server could have used a little training.
Came here after attending the Ice Castles. Seated promptly with our open table reservation and away from the door. It was a little chilly for the tables that were seated by the exit for people attending the Ice Castles. Had smoked whitefish spread for an appetizer and it was very good. Also had the barbeque brisket tacos which were excellent and generously portioned. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. All staff wearing masks and table adequately distanced for COVID. Felt safe dining here.
First they didn’t have our reservation even though I had a confirmation from open table. The hostess told the ladies in front us at the hostess stand that they didn’t have anything available but we’re going to see what they could do. Alas, they were seated at a table and then couldn’t seat us. We ended up at the bar which was fine but waited 15 minutes for someone to even acknowledge our presence. Once we had a server it was good. He was pleasant and helpful. Food was mediocre at best. Don’t need to visit again.
Great food, great service, but they have to find a better way to funnel the Ice Castles patrons, other than through the restaurant at the end. We ate first, then went. We desperately looked for another way out other than the restaurant. We know how cold it was when that door opened. No other exit. Their staff did the best they could under the circumstances ..Freezing cold😏
The food was excellent! We first shared appetizers of Southwest Chicken Quesadilla and Burnt End Brisket Bruschetta. We all enjoyed our meals: Fish tacos, Cobb salad with smoked chicken, Players Pork and The Pitmaster/brisket sandwich The server was very good. We mentioned we were headed to the ice castles within an hour and we met our goal. The experience exceeded our expectations.
Took my parents out Saturday January 23. Arrives to find out the ice castles were there - no biggie I thought until we walked into the restaurant. They had the end of the castles walking into the restaurant. The temperature had to have been around 50 degrees with the door from outside opening for periods of time for large groups. WHY would you allow your restaurant to be freezing for people to walk thru! We all sat with jackets, hats and gloves on! The food was good our waitress was super sweet and tentative.
Service was very slow. Food was cold when it finally arrived. Flavors seemed good however cold and not a great representation of cost. We did receive a reduction in cost in the end but will never return to that restaurant. I don't recommend spending your time or money there.
Ambience could have been better without the constant traffic and cold air from outdoor activities and guests.
Great food!
Went for lunch on New Years Eve to bid fair well to a friend who is moving out of state. It was a perfect Winter day. The restaurant was preparing for New Years Eve, but we didn't feel rushed at all. The place smells like the best smoked food in the world. We decided just to get Starters and were delighted with out choices. Great service, view and food. Would love to go back in the evening for dinner and see the lights across the lake. Would recommend wholeheartedly.
Creative menu! Love that it's not like every other restaurant.
Our entire family (including vegans) can find something.
Our family had the tacos, cedar plank salmon, smoked meats, queso and burger.
All were delicious.
Not to miss: the truffle fries - delicious!
This is our second visit and we love the new menu. The smoked meats are awesome. The sides need some work, but I think they will improve once they have been open for a while. The place is beautiful and the wait staff is excellent. We will be back for sure.
