Tupelo Honey - Virginia Beach
great vibes...waitstaff and food!
Tupelo Honey is one of my favorite restaurants, and I always make it a priority to stop in when I’m in town. I highly recommend visiting Tupelo Honey whenever possible!
Service was fair. Nothing above and beyond. Two food items had to be sent back... over cooked greasy chips and undercooked beans. The chef was defense and nothing was taken off our bill. The wine list wasn’t accurate and the server handed us a post in handwritten note and said to pick something. No specials were shared either and the music was so loud we couldn’t hear each other talk. I felt bad for the server who was fairy nice but would not return here. It was not worth the quality at all. A shame since the location is great.
Met up with my MIL here for their Shrimp and Grits and we’re never disappointed! The biscuits are amazing along with their homemade jam and avocado bread as an appetizer! Plus, we used the OpenTable app and beat the lunch crowd!
I had a wonderful meal and the waitstaff were very friendly and helpful. Will be a returning customer.
i have been wanting to come to a tupelo honey and missed being able to go while visiting myrtle beach, so was happy to find one in virginia beach. so many breakfast and brunch items to choose from! we had an omelet and shakshuka and both were delicious. also enjoyed the fresh biscuits with jam and honey that came complementary. i would definitely return.
What a wonderful place for yummiest southern food we ever tried.
The food was delicious and plantifull, the service is warm, friendly and efficient, the ambiance is interesting, cozy and relaxing, and the value is unbelivable.
Highlights: Bloody Mary, Fried pickles and okra, Shukshucka, complimentary bisquits,Seasonal specials.
We dream about coming back ASAP.
Had a lot of fun dining there and the entire group was excited about the menu. However, the dishes fell short of expectations. The food was good, but not as tasty as we had hoped for. We were a group of 10 so we tried almost everything on the menu and each fell short of expectations.
The hot biscuits they serve are wonderful and our waiter was patient with such a large group and separate checks.
We dinned outside which was wonderful.
Great service. Great drinks. Great food.
Although the food is quite good, this is the second time I have gone to the restaurant and the second time the business has been extremely slow. Not sure how long it takes to get a drink from the bar, or food from the kitchen, but two times of waiting means I will likely go elsewhere in the future..
Seems a bit of a sell out from what is likely and extraordinary original. It’s was fine, just commercialized
Our waitress was so attentive to our needs, the atmosphere was beautiful, the food was phenomenal and reasonably priced to be sourced locally. Will recommend to others and be back!
There were not many customers yet they were out of there special for the day a pork sandwich
Food was good, not great. Didn’t realize this is a chain. Service outstanding.
Good menu and comfortable restaurant
Awesome ambiance and great food. I only took off a few points because the servers did not give me or my date silverware. I had to ask. A few of them walked by several times without them noticing
We really enjoyed our experience! Our server was great, and he even had a trainee and he made sure to let his trainee do a lot and learn with him. The food was wonderful. I thought the Bloody Mary's were a little overpriced for the size of the glass, but it was a good Bloody Mary so I cant complain :)
Great Food. Loads of unusual mixes that come out great. Can't wait to go back.
We had a nice experience and enjoyed ourselves. The fried pickles were good. The outdoor patio was comfortable. Homemade biscuits and honey are amazing! Overall food was good.
Fun place for our group. The cocktails were delicious and the food was exactly what we were hoping for- a break from the seafood houses typically found around the beach area. Their fried pickles were especially notable.
Service was great... Not impressed with their sangria... I make better. The fried pickles were a pile of grease and the fried green tomatoes came out waaaaay too quickly to be made to order and for 10$, there wasn't even a full tomato on the plate. For the price of an entree, I would have expected a cloth napkin. My friend went the next day with her husband and they sat them under a leak from the ceiling.... She had drips on her plate... Tacky.
Loved the brunch menu and the drinks of course. Never disappointed in our food choices, everything was great.
We had the best experience and Kelly oue server was superb. Will definitely come back again!
Fantastic food! Loved the biscuits and jam! Authentic Southern cuisine in a pretty setting.
Stopped by for a cold drink and snack before visiting the Lego Americana Exhibits. Sat outside, and really enjoyed the ambiance even tho it's on the sidewalk and a busy street. It was late Sunday afternoon, apparently a pretty quiet time if you want to go then. Had a strawberry sangria made w Brandy.... different, creative. Also a cute little Mason jar of pimiento cheese with their potato chips that probably suffered from the humidity a bit. A little less than crisp and a little thick with air pockets between. Menu said tricolor carrots with it for dipping,, but it was one small white carrot cut in thirds lengthwise. Not much flavor. I think celery would compliment the pimiento better in taste and color. Really enjoyed the patio, terrific server, spent $16 and the server brought us 2 complimentary ginormous buttery biscuits. It's a fun place, clever menu, a little pricey with huge portions (share), easy parking on the street if you're lucky (only 2hours), and in the free garage by the restaurant, no time limit. Have to drive into it from the treet behind it the restaurant building, but then you walk out and the restaurant is right there. Nice in bad weather since you're not outdoors long. If you have the staff take photo, do it outdoors or near the waiting area upfront where it's brighter lighting. In front of the Tupelo sign indoors is too dark and shadowy. A photo up front turned out great.
Best fried chicken I’ve ever had, sorry dad, the gravy paired nicely. The side salad was meh, but the baked mac&cheese was wonderful, my wife’s mashed potatoes was tasty as well. Will be visiting again.
Very pleasant. Always enjoy Tupelo!
This was my third time eating at a Tupelo Honey. I love coming for brunch. The food was delicious. My only complaint was the wait time for our food. We waited about an hour to get it even though we were seated right away.
Our server, Brandon, was excellent. Very pleasant and helpful with suggestions.
Mixed greens salad was delicious. Strawberry mojito hit the spot. Outdoor covered seating made it all the better. Great place. Thanks.
This is a unique restaurant that serves comfort food with a tasty twist. I will definitely be back to sample more of the menu. Tupelo Honey is a nice addition to the VB downtown restaurant scene.
I was disappointed after having been to the original location in Asheville- the creole dip was WAY to spicy- bacon “jam” was WAY to spicy and the lavender martini was a little skimpy.
For $40 I expect a more substantial meal....especially when it only included a drink, appetizer (both on special) and a sandwich.
Excellent menu. Great, friendly service. Glad we found this place.
I hosted my bridesmaids proposal but I was upset I paid about $40 for my food and drink and I didn’t even eat my food because it wasn’t good . So I was hungry after my bridesmaid brunch and we still had other things to do that day
Food was excellent. Waiter could have been a little more attentive.
Isaiah was an awesome waiter. He was very attentive to our needs and very quick. The food was delicious and came it quick and got. I love this place and will continue us to come back!
Customer service is always top-notch!
Great food, service and the house beer was fantastic! highly recommend this place
Food wasn’t worth the price. It has a nice set up but the menu wasn’t great
Mediocre at best. Bland tasteless food Good service but won’t be back
Everything on the menu did not seem appetizing and was extraordinarily expensive. Maybe I'm just a fool, but I had no idea what some of the ingredients even were. I would not recommend if you are not a "sophisticated" individual. or if you don't exactly have money falling out of your pockets.
Great food and atmosphere as always ! Our waitress, Mikalah, was very nice, had recommendations, and ensured the quality was of the highest standard.
