Tupelo Honey - Virginia Beach
There celebrating 2 co workers birthday’s. Food and service good. Would have been nice to have given the Birthday girls a dessert
The A/C was not working so it was extremely hot and our server was perspiring quite a bit. He was super friendly and walked us through the menu. I love their cocktail menu and all of the different options that have available. I had the avocado toast which was absolutely delicious. The fried okra was tasty but I’d try something different next time. The complimentary biscuits are must have. Whenever we come back to VA Beach we will be sure to visit
We enjoyed our brunch. The food was very good. The kids menu isn’t terrific, but we pieced together side options which worked fine. We will be back!
The macaroni and cheese was very good but the rest of the dinner was just fair. I would go elsewhere if you had a choice.
The food is exciting and delicious. The atmosphere is just what I wanted. The service was excellent. I cannot wait to go back. It was such an amazing mix of my roots in both TX and TN. It felt like a slice of home right in downtown VA Beach.
The highlight of our meal was eating on the patio- it was a great evening and a relaxed but "date-like" atmosphere. Our food was mostly solid, although the fried chicken arrived a tad burnt. We were also never offered any bread, which was a let down. We didn't know to ask for it until we saw another table receive it, and at that point we were eating dessert.
Our server was acceptable, but needs some training points. This is not a fast-casual restaurant, and for a $75 bill I would expect more professional service.
Biscuits to start are awesome, had to wait until my meal came to get them but they were still lovely. Brussels were too hard inside, just too big .. but normally they’re awesome also, just an off day. The tomatoes and burrata are to die for - highly recommend. The service was wonderful, I had Colton (hopefully I’m spelling it correctly), he was very kind and attentive but not overbearing.
Tupelo Honey is an eclectic, farm to table place with a laid back vibe. I highly recommend trying it. Sometimes the town center gets a bad rap with the restaurants but this place is very unique and worth the trip. Parking is crazy easy either across the street or in the garage just past the restaurant. I sat in the outdoor seating area and it was lovely.
The food was good, especially the lime drink. I had the pecan pie French toast, and my GAWD. anyway, I went on a Sunday morning, and the restaurant was clean, our waitress kind, and the environment very chill. Would go again.
Favorite brunch place. Both our omelet Shoo Mercy and the Southwestern were delectable
This was absolutely some of the best food we have had on date night in quite some time! Service was great, the food was ready quickly, and we will absolutely be back for more!
Great food and great service. Nice ambiance.
Service was excellent and food was just amazing!!
Always love Tupelo! We have been to three different locations and this was the first time we didn’t have to wait forever for a table. As usual, it was fantastic!
Service was great, food very good. Would be even greater if they had a few more vegetarian options for breakfast.
The food was very good. Our server, Caroline, was very nice and professional. I asked her opinion on what I was considering ordering and she was right, it was delicious! The food is a bit pricey, so this will be a place for special occasions for us.
Great Southern Cuisine! My husband and I did tapas style and loved the fried okra and wings! Wings were small but flavorful, and okra was lightly fried and delicious with sauce. Finished off with delicious corn chowder and tomato soup which was hearty and well-portioned for an appetizer. A nice change in cuisine from the larger chains in town center :)
It was amazing. They were very flexible and friendly. The food was amazing. I have some picky eaters in my family but they all raved about it afterward.
Food was okay. There was a change in management
My chicken was not done and the service was very slow. The manager did comp my meal but it was very disappointing because it was mother’s day and my meal was ruined. My son meal the mash potatoes were sweet which is strange and they advertise their restaurant to be comfort food. We sat in the patio and it was already cool outside and they had the ceiling fans on which made it actually cold. While I was there three families complained about the temperature and they never turned the ceiling fans off. In addition, to children screaming and running around the patio. My overall experience was poor and I will not return.
This was my 3rd time at this restaurant. The last time I visited was Mother’s Day 2016. This time it appeared the prices had increased and the selection had decrease. The quality of the food was just fair. Fried chicken breast was very dry. I was not impressed. The sever was very slow and not attentive. We were not offered the Mother’s Day dessert, I had to inquire. During my last visit it was packed, that was not the case this time though. Even though it was Mother’s Day the food was of better quality and so was the service upon my 2016 visit. Needless to say, I will not be returning.
We had an overall great experience there on Mothers day.
The service was great, we were even allowed to sample the shrimp and grits.
All of the food we ordered was finger licking good and the Orange Crush was excellent.
The food at Tupelo Honey is always tasty. Sadly, this location, on this day didn't seem prepared for the large numbers of people that came in. We waited for about 45 minutes for the pre-meal biscuits. The server was overworked and what should have felt like a relaxing meal really wasn't that way. They also did not have the promised glass in stock for signing up for the restaurants club.
Just an okay experience.
My daughter took me here for Mother’s Day. It was our first time going to this restaurant the food was exceptional service was exceptional. We really enjoyed ourselves today will be back.
First timer. Good food. Staff very pleasant. Great location and access to other venders. Also have out side seating.
Took my mom for Mother's Day and she absolutely loved it!! Three thumbs up and I only have two... Delicious
My son and I ate here for brunch for first time on Mother’s Day. We had reservations & were seated right away. The waitress was pleasant. The food took a while to be served but maybe it was because they were busy for Mother’s Day, and most everything is made from scratch. Our order was prefect and the food was hot and fresh. I had the French toast w/ blueberries and my son had the chicken w/ biscuits. My French toast was sweeter than I prefer but very good. Just next time I will have them not put syrup and maybe the candied pecans on the side. My son had all his ingredients on the side and he Loved the chicken, even wanted another one! Their coffee is on the stronger side the way I like it. The mimosa not as good as others I’ve had. So w/ the two entrees, coffee, and mimosa the bill came to $58.00 including gratuity. Kinda steep but certainly better than IHOP.
I have eaten at Tupelo Honey on multiple occasions for lunch and dinner and was very impressed. This was my first breakfast. I was not pleased by the quality of food or the price. I had the pecan pie french toast, it was dry and not a very good. My companion had the sweet potato pancake meal for $21. Pricey for only getting 2 pancakes, eggs, 2 slices of bacon, and a chicken thigh. There are much better brunch locations in this area. We also ordered lemonade and were not told it would be a peach, rosemary lemonade for $4. Coffee took forever, no cream or sugar received or asked about. Thoroughly disappointed and this was Mother's Day.
Had a great Mothers Day experience!
We arrived at 7:00 on a Saturday night and there was no wait to be seated. After we were seated the service was slow. It took us awhile to receive our biscuits, which were very dense and did not seem fully baked. Then our meal took a long time to arrive. Even after the wait my food arrived luke warm. The catfish portion was surprisingly small given the price, and the brussel sprouts were just ok. The waitstaff was apologetic for the long wait, and even brought us a free appetizer, but the food was just not good enough to justify the prices. I would not return for another visit.
Biscuits were not cooked fully and returned. Second batch was just as uncooked. Catfish was mushy on bottom. Shrimp and grits had way too much red pepper flakes
Waiter was great. Drink deliver and food delivery was slow.
Kitchen was totally unorganized. Wait staff standing in line waiting on orders.
Our waitress Chesley was very nice, however she was not supported by the kitchen staff.
We only we able to have drinks and a salad prior to having to leave for the theater. After 45 minutes at our table, our entrees were still not ready.
Doubt if we will return.
We made reservations and when we got there they didn’t have a table ready so we chose to just sit outside. That was fine, we didn’t mind but we were confused that we would have had to wait for a table when we had a reservation. The problem though was we were there for 3 hours for a Mother’s day eve meal for a party of 6. 3 kids and 3 adults. The waitress was nice and took off our appetizers without us asking but even so I would’ve preferred to pay and have quicker turn around. We had other things to do and had to cancel due to the fact that 3 hours later we were still there. Our food came out slightly warm to room temperature. My aunt even had to ask for hot fries because what came out wasn’t even warm. My husband and sons food was room temperature. My veggie burger was room temperature. It was disappointing. We spent so much money on food that we expected to be great only to be disappointed. Several times we had empty tea and water glasses and just waited a lot. For this kind of money I would expect more.
Our waitress was friendly & the food was good. The menu did not have much that was familiar to my Aunt and she was not willing to try something too different. It would be nice to have a small section of common food available to those less adventerous who are out enjoying time with family.
The brunch was good for the most part. I got eggs Benedict and the eggs were over cooked but the food was still very good. The prices are marketed right for the area. Will be back..
Our waitress was very awkward and not friendly. Food portions for dinner were very small. Drinks from the bar were watered down and not worth the price. Also, somehow water was spashing in our feet from a leak in the kitchen. I don’t even know how this was possible. We didn’t see a leak just felt the water hit our feet and saw water on the floor under the table. When we told staff they didn’t really care and no one offered to do anything or even clean up the water under the table for us. I would only recommend breakfast. Dinner was sub par.
Love Tupelo Honey! A family favorite since it opened in a Town Center!
Incredible friendly staff, and amazing food to match it. Will definitely be coming back.
The portions were very small for the price. I was disappointed by that.
