Southern
Tupelo Honey is a revival of Southern food and traditions rooted in the Carolina Mountains we call home. We craft brunches, lunches and suppers that bring family and friends around the table and allow for conversations and cocktails to linger longer than usual. Always scratch-made, always responsibly-soured, and always Southern.

Our Dog Friendly Patio is available year-round. Ask our host about our special dog menu! The patio is covered from the elements, but does not have heaters.
Reservations recommended.

Dinner for 4 and two children. It’s a nice place and the staff was friendly. But $9 for kids chicken and $10 for 6oz of Pino?! The waiter was nice but obviously new and didn’t know the menu. $200 is a bit much for the offering.

Food was bland not tasty.

Many items were not available.

The price did not match the value. It seems that in trying to offer unique blends of food, quality was forgotten in the process.

First time at Tupelo Honey. Selected for Virginia Beach Restaurant Week because they had meatloaf on menu. On-line menu had a creamy sweet potato bisque soup when I made the reservation; however, it was not available on restaurant menu when we dined. I was looking forward to the bisque, so 4 out of 5; however, everything else was a great night out. If you are a beer drinker, I saw a great selection from which to choose as well as other alcohol beverages to compliment your meal. My friend and I stuck with water with lemon.
My friend had the fried green tomatoes and I had the crispy brussels to start. I like meatloaf so that was my order, the bourbon peppercorn glazed meatloaf. My friend ordered the honey dusted fried chicken. We both had the brown butter pecan pie for desert. The appetizers, entrees, and dessert were "simply delicious." The chef did a marvelous menu and prepared/oversaw preparation that resulted in an awesome meal for us.
Don't use the city garage to park. Park across the street in the vacant restaurant lot. They have a great outdoor seating area when the weather is appropriate.
Lunch menu appeals to me and it is now on my radar to try.
I hope you have a most enjoyable time and meal here as we did enjoy.

We love going to Tupelo during the week, as it's much less crowded! We had a lovely dinner, and enjoyed great conversation! Our waitress was very nice, too! Can't wait to return!

This place is amazing! The food is great, and does not cost an arm and a leg.

Southern cooking for any occasion. There are no salt & pepper shakers on the table for a reason…you don’t need them. The food is perfectly seasoned.

The decor is a mix between barnhhouse and modern. Looks great!

The food is really good - lots of choices from sandwiches to vegetable bowls to fried chicken. Service is always good - friendly and attentive. Highly recommend lunch or dinner here. Best to make a reservation since it can be crowded.

Being this was my second try at the place, I attempted to forgive the hostess and her rudeness. Yet again the same hostess with the same attitude none speaking dry personality. We had a party of three the hostess sat us at a table that could hardly accommodate a single person. The table was cut short and wrong it seemed, after squirming around the server finally offered to move us to another better suited table. The hostess knew the table she sat us at was a little off, every restaurant has that one table and every good hostess knows this. Sadly she could use some more training in dealing with diverse groups of people. The food was ummm ok . Just wished it came out hot and not warmed like it just sat in the window for mins before the lonely kitchen runner had to make a mad dash to save on food cost. The server was everywhere and we didn’t mind as we had no place to go and the place was busy for a Saturday. It did seem as if the server was worried she wouldn’t be tipped well because she was aware she was slacking on her table side manners while she fluttered around other tables. As a prior food service worker I get it, but as a customer who pays for what she orders I was irritated just a tad with the condensing tone of the server. The lavender mimosa is kept in a carafe not even made to order so that took the spark away know that each one made was just a cookie cutter of the first and so on. This place has so much potential is maddening. Don’t be afraid of your non white customers, we tip well too. Don’t miss out! Bring a white friend if you dine here, for best results.

The waiter was great. The food was good. The biscuits were cool as in not warm but not cold. My waffle was the same way. But the chicken on my waffle was hot. My husband's meal was hot and so were our Brussel sprouts. Thinking that the "bread" products were just made earlier. You know with covid it's alittle hard to keep things going smoothly. But everything tasted good.

I ordered 4 plates and all needed eggs and chicken. My eggs had to be sent back due to being undercooked. My daughter didn't get her chicken till I asked for it. It syrup didn't come out with our waffles. We had to ask for it. It was so disappointing because we eat there a lot.

It was our Anniversary and they made it special with a signed cookbook from their staff. Our server was incredible and it was her first day and we were her first table. She made the breakfast extra special. Only minor knock is that the pancakes were small. But both our meals were delicious. One of our favorite spots in Hampton Roads.

As always, Tupelo Honey - Virginia Beach delivers. The food is always delicious and the service is always friendly and fast. The last two times my wife and I went there the hostesses asked if we wanted a table or booth, a nice addition to ask diners where they'd prefer to sit. Overall, though, we always enjoy going to Tupelo Honey. We've also been to the Greenville, SC, location and enjoy both! I have no complaints for this location. We've probably been going once a week for the past several months because this place is one of Town Center's best restaurants. It's good southern cooking in a modern atmosphere in the heart of downtown Virginia Beach. Always splendid!

People have said not to go but I wanted to try them for myself. The food was horrible. I literally ate 2 little bites of my over cooked mahi mahi and pushed the plate away. The crispy Brussels had flavor but soggy. The best thing were the appetizer cauliflower and fried pickles. The entrees were horrible. That food was not made with love at all. On top of that I told the waiter I didn’t like it and I don’t want it and he kept it on the bill. Lol. I paid but I will never go back and I will share my experience with everyone even strangers to worn them

Made a reservation for bland southern food, that's wild.

Service was fine but the food wasn't good; Nashville Hot chicken wasn't glazed or hot and mac and cheese waffles was okay. Chicken was bland and didn't have any seasoning and waffles were the same. Ordered Brussel sprouts, they too, didn't have any seasoning other than the oil they used to cook them with.

Sweet potato pancakes had to be drenched in syrup for it to taste like anything.

Arrived at opening time to a short line. Line moved pretty fast and we were seated pretty swiftly. Food was good. Service was good. Sad that they didn’t have the Boozy Cold Brew ready during our visit so had to settle for a second choice - the Boozy Rooster.

Southern food for northern taste buds. The service as great, but if you grew up on southern comfort food, prepare yourself to be underwhelmed. If you’re just wanting to try southern comfort food and never had it before, this is a great place to start.

Had visited your location in Asheville, NC, and loved dinner there. Kinda stumbled across your VA Beach location, and decided to try breakfast. It was great, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place serving southern breakfast on weekends. We were also glad we made reservations. It wasn't too crowded early, but by 11:00AM, it started filling up quickly. Service was great, and the location was also very convenient to our Town Center accommodations.
