We went in for Sunday morning breakfast, got our food pretty quickly, and both ended up taking some home.
Lovely experience! Food cooked to perfection! Extremely professional and warm service to include reservation information, reception and seating! Dessert was awesome send-off! The 2 hour drive was worth it! Parking was a little less desirable but it was downtown Charlotte so do your homework on parking before you get there.
Food was good, but we were forced to sit outside in 40 degree weather even though we made our reservation for inside a week in advance.
Brunch - Food was awesome and service was great...definitely will be back.
Thank you for taking time to leave this great review!! We look forward to seeing you again.
I ate at Tupelo when it was on the south end. Previously had a good meal and decided to try them again. This time my GPS took me uptown Charlotte. I didn’t know they had moved. Locating parking was difficult. I drove around for about 15 minutes looking for free parking as an unattended parking garage is not for me.
I wanted brunch so I ordered the eggs French toast and fried chicken. Somewhat surprised that I only received one piece of chicken and although I was somewhat satisfied with my meal, there was no bang for my buck. The chicken lacked salt and the French toast was mediocre.
My table was drafty. The waitstaff said they couldn’t move my table due to Covid even though my party had not arrived and plenty other seats were available. A vent was blowing cold air directly onto table. Finally after telling 4 different staff persons, Tupelo turned the AC off and turned on the heat which made it more comfortable.
My drink was good but served in a water glass. For $11, Tupelo should do better than that.
Hi Karen. Thank you for taking time to leave this review. We have strived to serve scratch-made quality food at an affordable price. Our portions on our drinks and food are usually one of the things that our guest complement us on the most. I am sorry to hear that the 16 oz mega for 11 dollars wasn't what you expected it should be. With Charlotte being a growing city, it has taken time for some of our guest to adapt to us being in Uptown and it's parking. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Food was great! Ambiance is awesome!
Server was fantastic and the food was awesome!
Liked the vibe of the one on South End better. Great waitress! My benedict was COLD- ugh!
Very good food. You have to get the biscuits because they’re excellent, with or without the blueberry butter spread. I had the buttermilk fried chicken with a side of Mac and cheese (yum!!) and potato cracklins (eh, I’ve had better). We got a reservation on Open Table earlier that day and waited about 10 minutes when we arrived!
Loved the experience! The waiter was on point and paid attention to our needs
Always love it here. Everything was great!
Thanks to our host Jalen! He kept me and my girls laughing and was there each time we needed him! Will definitely come back!
The ambience was very nice but I expected more from the food. The food was not terrible but I found it to be very bland. We seen other tables ordering lunch plates and the food looked great. May try lunch/dinner if I ever return. Hope that isn’t bland too.
The food was fantastic as always. We love coming for lunch and brunch. This is a great place to eat.
Great food, great experience. Definitely a must-visit location.
Beautiful restaurant! Food was great and my only complaint was that the tables were a little too close together during COVID.
This brand is hit or miss at best. We went on Saturday early evening before 5pm. Use but. It crowders yet. Staff was very friendly. Facility was clean and covid protocols were in place too.
We ordered the French toast meal (very large portion) it included chicken, bacon and eggs. I ordered the buttermilk chicken with 2 sides and I added in a Brussels sprouts.
All chicken was over cooked and I suspect the oil needed changing. The chicken was dry and very dark in color. Hence the overused oil. Both orders came out cold to room temperature. The only item that was great were the biscuits. They were hot and delicious. Otherwise we were very underwhelmed and at $178 plus tip they have to do better. We
Most likely won't be back.
The experience was horrible. The waiter/waitress wasn’t attentive at all.
Love Tupelo Honey but be prepared to add an additional $10 for parking uptown!
Great service and food!
The pancakes rock!!
We had to wait to be seated with a reservation, we were rushed to order, rushed out and the manager made up rules around drinking. We had full drink and at 9pm they made us throw it away.. the owner states that to go drinks are allowed.
It’s expensive to go out to dinner and this was terrible.
Food was also fine, but rushed out and sloppy.
I won’t be back
We have tried to accommodate guest still wishing to enjoy dinner later than our 8pm closing time by allowing guest to make reservations until 8pm. Guest are communicated upon entering about us following the mandate of no alcoholic on the tables at 9pm. It is ILLEAGAL to take alcohol from your table and place it in to go cups and drink from them. They are allowed to be purchased in SEALED cups for consuming at your home. We appreciate your business but will not risk being fined or our reputation.
I wish I knew our servers name - he was amazing! I told my husband I should've left my business card & recruited him - HA! food & cocktails were great as always. lights were pretty bright for dinner time, but it's a fan favorite & always worth the trip.
Absolutely wonderful service. Food was excellent!!
The atmosphere was fun and bright. The fried pickles were fresh and unique, but we were very disappointed in the brussel sprouts. When it was mentioned to our server that we didn’t enjoy them at all, she just brought us the salt and pepper.
I had a great time! My French toast was perfect. I can't wait to go back.
Great all around experience!
The restaurant looks nice but the service was terribly slow and the food was definitely subpar. I met my friend there after work and waited 20 minutes for the waitress who was also the bartender to return and take my drink order. Even when my food came out I didn't have water or silverware. Also my friend went to take a sip of her water and there was red lipstick on her glass that was obviously not hers. We sent our food back and will not be returning.
Took a while to get our food, but service was good.
Needed to travel for a “family reason”and stopped in Charlotte during our trek back home. During this Covid time, we are really reluctant to eat indoors (at home, never mind in a city we in which we are unfamiliar). We made a reservation after walking by and seeing the layout and when arrived asked to be seated in a corner away from others. The Host very much understood our feelings and obliged. Our server was amazing -friendly, helpful with the menu items and suggestions. We had a great experience and, if we are back in the area, will definitely go back.
Tupelo honey margarita was yum! Mac and cheese was good, fried chicken was tasty.
No bottled water, stevia, sparkling water or cappuccino??? not sure what thats all about for a cafe. Service quasi ok. otherwise food was great
The ambience of this restaurant is BEAUTIFUL! Plants, decorations etc. it's a wonderful, calm, on trend aesthetic. Our server (Jailyn) was great! Positive, Happy, Great suggestions.
Our food however was lukewarm. Not hot, not technically cold, just warm (on the cooler side). Even the fries were brought out a little cool (not cold, but certainly not hot at all)
Absolutely loved the food and service!! Will definitely be visiting again.
We went as a family for Valentine’s Day dinner. They have good choices for both adults and kids. I ordered sweet and spicy fried chicken which was really good. My wife ordered a farm fresh sandwich but the patty was burned and they told it is due to well done and offered another one, which was also burned due to well done. So don’t recommend burgers here. Kids ordered from the kids menu and they liked it. It’s economical considering the uptown. Server was really good to us and was very friendly
My husband and I enjoyed visiting the uptown location on Valentine’s Day. The food came out in a timely manner. We ordered the fried chicken, a side of grits, and greens. The food was good, no complaints. Really enjoyed the biscuits with jelly.
Service was trash. One of the waiters lied and said he was leaving and that someone else would take our order but we waited 20 minutes for the new waiter to take our order. When we asked for the manager that’s when our original showed up and ask what the problem was. The fried pickles were no where near fried and the mimosa tasted like it was straight up orange juice and barely any champagne.
Cool little spot to go on Valentine's day and enjoy bloodies and mimosas. The male bartender (Steven??) Should be considered for promotional events as he was phenomenal.
Great restaurant! Went here for brunch on Valentine’s Day. We had a reservation and they got us seated immediately upon arrival. The bartender/ our sever was very friendly and helpful. Food and drinks both came out pretty quickly and were wonderful!
Very beautiful atmosphere! Would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.
Cute spot for Sunday Brunch. Barely got any blueberry compote on the french toast. That was very disappointing. I was literally hunting under the slices cause the itty bitty amount was shocking. So it made the plate of very thin snd ordinary french toast not feel special as I expected it would be. The waiter was excellent though. So nice.
We had Mian as our server and he was such a breathe of fresh air!! He made suggestions and was very knowledgeable about the menu. He surprised me with the spicy and sweet chicken and Mac and cheese. It was so delicious. My husband had the classic breakfast and it was great. The grits are to die for. A must for everyone!! Can’t wait to go back!!
