Alyssa our server was extremely attentive and a compliment to the amazing food
Jaimi was the sweetest! She instantly felt like a friend and had a wonderful working knowledge of the menu. My husband and I shared a few of her recommendations. Wish we had not shared the banana pudding... (get your own!) Great dining experience. The biscuits, the bees knees cocktail, and the dessert were my favorites.
We ordered Appalachian salads with grilled salmon and a fried chicken plate. All food was delicious, and our server was outstanding. This restaurant is consistently top-notch and is highly recommended.
Nice ambiance and service. My mother really enjoyed her lunch combo of egg/avocado sandwich, harvest salad, and tomato soup. My honey dusted fried chicken was good, but the crispy brussel sprouts were the most memorable part of my meal.
We had a great table outside. With the huge wall of doors that open they have lots of “safe” seating. Food is always delicious. Service was quite good.
Meal was very tasty with generous portions.
Much better than the downtown location as far as not being crammed in...food is good, overpriced. No longer serving biscuits with meals. Hopefully this is temporary. Great service.
They are taking good precautions, good food and great friendly staff.
Got a table outside and that staff wore masks. Felt like they went above and beyond for diners to have a positive experience.
Our server was excellent!! She did an outstanding job, I feel terrible because I don’t remember her name, ughhh!
Best cheese grits and Bloody Mary’s!
Great location, didn't feel crowded. Excellent service!
My wife and I had a pleasant experience dining at Tupelo Honey. The food was phenomenal and our server was fantastic.
Great food, great service!
Made a reservation through Open Table. Arrived a few minutes early and was taken to a table on the patio, without a cover. I asked for a different table, but was told there weren’t any. I pointed to one under cover and asked about that one. The hostess told me it was reserved for 2 people. I looked at her like she couldn’t count and pointed out we were 2 people. Her response—“Yes, but you’re not those people.” We asked for the table to be pulled under the cover and she accommodated us, halfway. We sat under the cover, while it rained on the other half. Our meals arrived quickly. My husbands buttermilk fried chicken was.beautiful and delicious. The Brussels sprouts were nicely charred and enough for 3-4 people. My fried boneless chicken breasts were overcooked to a dark brown to black in some areas. However the mashed potatoes and collards were terrific. Our waitress was attentive and very pleasant. As we left I couldn’t help but notice the “other table for two” remained empty. It was a mixed experience for us. We won’t be back in Asheville again in the near future, but plan on visiting Charlotte soon and hope to have a better experience there. Our son raves about Tupelo Honey in Charlotte.
Super cool place; loved the interior, and the waitstaff was extremely friendly. Food was subpar; I ordered the classic eggs benedict which would have been delicious if it wasn’t cold. My husband had the fried chicken, and although his side of fried okra was outstanding, the chicken was dry and overcooked. Worth going back a second time to see if the kitchen simply had an off day.
Great Sunday brunch on the patio! We were seated quickly and the servers were attentive. The food was excellent! We felt comfortably spaced for dining during a pandemic. We will return!
Restaurant was clean, food was amazing for first visit and service was great.
Food and service were really good. We'll be back.
Great place! My husband & I thoroughly enjoyed the food & the atmosphere.
Our server (Savannah) was very friendly and great, as well as the rest of the staff we interacted with. The food was good and well priced for what we got. Delicious appetizers and drinks. We both got the shrimp and grits as our main course and found it tasty and filling.
The food was good. Fried chicken a tad burnt. We had a reservation but still waited twenty minutes for a not-great table. We opted to wait for a better one. Overall we were relatively happy with the experience, but not thrilled. Might try again after Covid.
Great food, awesome service. My only complaint is that they were out of Fried Green Tomatoes.
I'm not in love... but it was good. Lunch special was an average price, portions were adequate. Their dinner seems MUCH more expensive.
Normally, I don't like to do reviews but was looking forward to getting review for this place! Where do I begin! First ordered their FAMOUS Fried green fried tomatoes for appetizer ~ they do not have available! SERIOUSLY ~ that’s what they are known for and they are in season! Husband ordered sample of a local beer, they bring him the whole glass (not sample). Just ended up drinking it and paying for it. Ordered fried okra for appetizer since no fried green tomatoes available ~ hardly breaded and the bread that was on there was burnt and cold inside. Bought us another/no change/cold. Husband ordered 1/2 fried chicken, what he got were 2 thighs and a drumstick! Asked waitress about the white meat and she didn't know anything about whitemeat. She indicated that is what the 1/2 chicken consists of! SERIOUSLY? the menu, you could order white meat piece of fried chicken but when you order a half of chicken, the breast should be included! We made them take off the price of the 1/2 chicken and just charge us for dark meat chicken entre! Chicken was cool inside not the best. Finally, I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with salad on side. No blue cheese dressing! Changed to their HOMEMADE Fries ~ NO! They were just the frozen package of fries. My chicken sandwich arrived and was cold inside! I asked the waitress if it was a frozen chicken breast, she didn't know ~ was told by manager it was fresh. They replaced with another sandwich and same thing ~ cold inside. It appeared to be a precooked frozen chicken breast that they grilled and threw some sauce on top.
Previously dined at other Tupelo Honey downtown on another visit and it was fantastic. Such a disappointment food wise.
On a good note, the service was better than food. Couldn't hold against waitress ~ she did try to resolve the issues and the manager did come to table with concern. I also noticed other tables having issues while we were dining. Go to original location
I have been wanting to try Tupelo Honey for quite some time. So I decided to take my girlfriend there for her birthday. And we were not disappointed. The vibe was relaxing and appealing. The food was Ah-maxing. Our waiters name was Haley and she was phenomenal. She made my girls day even more special with some yummy dessert. I had absolutely no complaints about my visit. Can’t wait to visit Asheville again, we will definitely be going back!
I recommend getting the Salt and Pepper Crispy Brussels and baked Mac and cheese for your sides choices!
Service was a little slow, but very personal and addressed our dining needs
Everything except the food was wonderful. The food was just really below average though. Driest fried chicken I’ve ever eaten, extremely peppery tomato soup, and burned potatoes. For what they are charging, I would expect the food to be much, much better. They definitely need to do some quality control on their food.
We were looking for a restaurant after a long day of travel. I looked at the ratings on this restaurant and we decided to get off the interstate and go here.
We were very glad that we had reservations, and very glad that we went. It was very busy. I see why now. Outstanding. I wish we had one of these restaurants in Tampa.
The food and service was outstanding. Try the fried okra and a banana pudding. Our entrées were very good also. Jaimie gave us outstanding service. She was very helpful and kind and considerate. I only wish I lived near enough to come every week!
We accidentally booked at the wrong location and then arrived an hour early. We asked the hostess if we could be sat and she said they did not have any tables available but would let us know. 5 minutes later a table cleared so we were able to be sat. Food was great! Overall, great experience!
Excellent food, our server was very kind and attentive. Had a large group next to us who didn’t want to follow COVID guidelines but otherwise great experience!
We went to the downtown location instead of the south Asheville. They did us a big favor by keeping a table open for us. Chicken was OK, service was great. We were glad to have a place to eat because Asheville was packed. The desserts were the best - banana pudding and pecan pie!
Don’t bother with the reservation, they don’t care if you make one or not. When you arrive early, they let you know that you’re now on their list. About 10-15 minutes after there are several tables cleared, someone might wander back by the hostess station. Another 10-15 minutes later you have a shot at getting seated.
The wait staff typically hustles, but the food is still slow and isn’t as good as it once was.
Plenty of other options around Asheville.
We had a great waiter! (Don’t recall his name). The food and mixed drinks were excellent! My friend and I stayed and talked for hours. The waiter continued to refresh out glasses of water.
Our first visit to Tupelo Honey for our anniversary weekend and it did not disappoint! Can't wait to go back next time we are near one. The biscuits are out of this world and our server was very kind and prompt.
Service was awful. It took nearly 20 minutes to get our drinks and refills never came. A few of us ordered beer. It was warm. Food arrived timely and was pretty good, but not good enough for us to go back and chance receiving the same level of service.
Food and atmosphere were great! Lovely place and real home tasting food.
