Good food again. Service and value of meal very good
Lovely and nearby to the open air dining area! Amazing food and great service
We have eaten at Tupelo honey for years when passing thru Asheville. We were quite disappointed that the chicken on the biscuits and gravy is no longer white meat. We would have been happy to pay extra for all white meat, but nothing was specified on the menu, so we didn’t know to ask for this. We asked the server when our food came, but he brushed us off and walked away.
We love going here for brunch food. I haven’t had any dish I didn’t enjoy. The staff are friendly and seasoned. They do a great job!
Great experience for our 2nd visit - well spaced tables and masked wait staff, delicious food and drinks.
Due to covid, you have to download the menu, and the pictures do not correspond on the webpage with the menu items, so you kind of end up guessing what you are ordering. This happened to us and we both ended up with something that was not really what we wanted. Menu has become overwhelmingly southern, very heavy carbs, where it used to be more varied
This is our go-to restaurant every time we're near Asheville, the food is locally sourced and delicious, staff is fabulous.
A friend and I went to lunch. Since neither of us has a huge appetite, we chose appetizers. I got the fried green tomatoes, and she ordered the avocado toast. Both were excellent. While the fried green tomatoes were yummy, the portion was not quite enough to make a meal for me. Since I usually don't have room for dessert, I opted to get the "mini" size of banana pudding. It was just enough to finish filling me up. I want to go back and have the avocado toast as well as the fried chicken, peach coleslaw and salted beet salad.
This has quickly become one of our favorite restaurants while vacationing in NC. Excellent food and service. Collards and chicken are delicious.
Absolutely wonderful meal. Great service and incredible food!
yum!!! food was fantastic and the various types of mimosas were great!!!
Jack our server was amazing. He was on point with recommendations and any needs. We even had a quick NBA discussion. The food was delicious. My family enjoyed our dinner to the fullest.
A little out of the way, but also away from downtown.
Still the great food and service!
They were out of fried green tomatoes and catfish. The chicken and waffles were not warm when served. Unimpressed unfortunately.
We have come to rely on Tupelo Honey for its great food and innovative recipes they introduce from time to time. Our dinner did not disappoint. Loved the Rainbow Avocado Bowl - new to us!! The other thing we really appreciated was the appropriate table spacing and servers all wearing masks. We continue to support TH for all of these reasons!
The food is always delicious and the staff was helpful in seating us on time.
Server did not bring tableware. Had to ask when food was brought out.
A salad was served with dressing after the order specified none.
Fried green tomatoes undercooked.
No handicapped parking directly in front. Seems all spaces are for take-out.
Too expensive for the quality.
We were spoiled year ago when you were one location in downtown Asheville but realize that quality usually suffers with expansion. Most likely will not return.
Was not a pleasant experience. We arrived and were sat immediately due to having a reservation. However, the seat was half in the restaurant and half on the patio. We were not aware this was a “pet friendly” restaurant. So our seat being so close to the outside meant we were in the midst of 4 dogs who were barking and sniffing the entire dinner. Also meant we smelled wet dog during our entire meal. And about the meal, the service was subpar at best. Our server must have been sat all over the restaurant so she was well behind. They brought my wife lemonade, but neglected to mention it had lavender it. So she was drinking an Arnold Palmer and felt like she was drinking the same oils she was just massaged in. The grits were good but the fired green tomatoes were sour. The bread was super, but the overall food lacked. My wife ordered the Buttermilk chicken and it was fatty and kinda slimy. I had a chicken sandwich but had to eat it with a knife and fork due the bread being wet and soggy. Not a great experience and will not be going back.
First our waiter was awesome in spite of being double sat with 2 larger parties. He was attentive and food was delivered hot! Easter Brunch meal was soo mercy Chicken and pancakes were yummy. Cocktails were interesting and well prepared. Felt comfortable inside with social distancing etc. Everyone working there had masks.
Patrons outside I felt some were disrespectful with smoking right in front of entrance and also where people were dining.
I would recommend.
The hostess was extremely nice—she was the highlight of the experience.
I had been craving the fried chicken for months, but it ended up being on the dry side. Also, our waitress was not very friendly—maybe she was nervous about COVID.
Overall a disappointment.
You won't go wrong dining here! Excellent service, delicious food with an awesome presentation! Be sure to get a reservation in advance.
We went for Easter brunch. We had a reservation so we could sit outside but instead were sat by the kitchen with many empty tables outside and in better locations. We asked to move but were told it was for those who made reservations! (Like us) Food was good but not good enough for the price and bad service to return.
Always a great experience...delicious food, great service
We visited for Easter Brunch and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The staff were friendly and the service was exceptional. We decided on the "Old Skool Breakfast Bowl" and it was awesome. We will be returning.
We booked an outside table but the hostess was kind enough to allow us to use an indoor table (too cold!) - with the caveat that we would be on a time schedule because it was reserved by someone in 45 minutes. I told her that as long as the kitchen could keep up, that wouldn’t be an issue. Apparently the waitress didn’t get the memo so I mentioned it to her after drinks took ten minutes to reach our table. It didn’t really seem to speed her up much - it was another five minutes before she took our order and our food arrived 40 minutes after we were seated. Normally this wouldn’t be a big deal but after the hostess was clear to say it was going to need to be an expedient visit, it definitely was not. Nobody said anything about us being there well into someone else’s reservation (thank you!) but our waitress never really did speed up - the check took a good ten minutes to be picked up after arriving well after our meals were finished. I am not sure if she was overwhelmed with how busy it was or if she’s just not a great waitress. Either way, the experience ended just fine for us but there might have been another party which had a negative experience as a result.
We had reservations and were able to get seated 40 minutes earlier. After that it went all down hill. Our appetizers were fairly quick, only mediocre (crispy Brusselsprouts, fried green tomatoes) after that our food took over an hour and when we got it, 75% of it was inedible. They tried to make up for it by taking 30% off our food tab and coupons to return. After that fiasco we will not be returning.
We should have listened to a gentleman at Biltmore who said it was just so-so.
Our waitress brought our check while some of us were still eating, but assured us that there she was not implying that we should be wrapping up our meal. She then returned a half hour later, telling us that her manager was pressing her to move us along to make space for other patrons. We still hadn't finished our drinks, and were considering desert, but we wrapped up as soon as we could since we no longer felt welcome.
Food was really great, service was excellent! Solid choice for brunch.
We ate at Tupelo Honey with our family of 7. It was perfect!! The food was amazing, the service was friendly and attentive. My husband had the chicken and waffles and being a bit of a food snob determined they are the best he's ever had! The kids loved the biscuits and pancakes and the environment was fun, relaxed and a perfect family or group spot!
The food had so much potential, but unfortunately fell short. The quality of the food was not worth the price paid for it and we were disappointed. Had we known what we were going to get, we would've gone elsewhere.
we had a very pleasant experience at Tupelo Honey in South Asheville. Made the reservations while on the road and had not troubles. Food and atmosphere was great and everything was clean and safe.
The food, atmosphere and service were great. The chicken and waffles and sweet and spicy chicken was amazing. We loved our food and the experience, didn't realize there is a location an hour from our home. We found this spot on vacation but we will be driving the hour to go to the one near us.
Was passing through on my way to Arkansas. Normally dine at the location in Raleigh. Service was great as always.
It was a great place to take kids and adults alike.
The food was good but the service was tough, gosh and the drinks were awful.
Service was decent overall although our appetizer came out after our entrees & I had to remind the server. She was very friendly & was attentive with water & tea. It took a while after we were done to get the check.
Was very disappointed with my fried chicken. How could a restaurant that specializes in southern cuisine mess up with fried chicken?!?!?! Their menu states that they brine their chicken for juiciness but it was clear that it was overbrined. Chicken was extremely salty. Shrimp & grits were ok. Grits were well made. Basil green beans were a bit tough. Have eaten at the raleigh location and had great food so was disappointed with this experience.
Food wasn’t good. Didn’t enjoy at all. Won’t go back. This is the South Asheville location.
Food consistently good but the service and time it takes to be waited on, have your order taken and receive your food is very poor. Would recommend Tupelo Honey only if time is not a factor... will personally stick to takeout.
Birthday for son and his aunt. The drinks were well-made and the food was delicious. Our server was very attentive and made sure that we were comfortable and had all of our needs met.
Pecan pie WAY over cooked. Had it before and loved it. Too many people in the restaurant social distancing impossible. Kitchen slammed. Will be awhile before I go back.
