There is always wonderful food and great friendly service. Great place to take family and friends.
We first ate here Saturday morning for breakfast and my friend liked it so much, we went back on Sunday. Food was very good (but it always is) and service was very friendly, helpful and accomodating. It was my friend's first time at Tupelo Honey and she loved the coffee enough to mention it to the server who was kind enough to give her a bag to take home with her. She also loved the syrup and the waitress on our Sunday visit got her the brand information so she could try to find it when she got home. It was very thoughtful on both the waitresses accounts. I always eat at this location when in Asheville and enjoy it immensely.
The atmosphere was nice and it was a nice feel overall, however, the food was not very appetizing at all. My fiance and I got two different chicken dishes and both of our chickens were extremely dry and the sides weren't warm. I enjoyed the atmosphere but the food will not be causing us to come back anytime soon.
All good! Tupelo Honey sure knows how to do fried chicken and the biscuits were awesome, too!
Our food literally came out less than 2 minutes after ordering...what does that tell you. Small portions, high prices. Do not know what the hype over this place is!
Great food and local brews. Staff is always friendly.
This dining experience was a total miss all the way around. We have loved eating at TH in Charlotte, Greenville, downtown Asheville, this was our first and last time to visit this particular location. Location: disappointing (in a strip mall), food: disappointing, pimento dip appetizer had virtually nothing in it and honestly wasn’t good, fried chicken had weird taste, service: disappointing, meal took way too long to arrive considering how many people were in restaurant. Have some work to do to get this location up to par.
Went early about 5:15. Visiting from out of town. Heard about the restaurant and downloaded menu. Food was delicious. Wish I could come back every week
Our waitress was great and the food was delicious!
Consistently one of the best places to dine in South Asheville. The food and service are always great.
We ordered the chicken dinner family style meal that was a soe dial offering that day. It was excelle6!
The seasoning of the dishes was superb.
The reservation we had was certainly convenient and the restaurant was on time with being ready for us. The service and our server were extremely friendly and accommodated us with all our needs. With young children, this meant so much to us. The food was great and we left feeling full and happy!
Good food, fast service. Only down side was no privacy as tables are close together and the noise level is high.
The restaurant is too noisy.. you can't have a conversation with you dinner companions.. management need to invest in acoustical tiles. the food was bland and cold when it came to table. they were horrible under staffed..
Tupelo Honey is one of my favorite restaurants in downtown Asheville and Myrtle Beach, however I would never recommend the South Asheville location to anyone. I was very disappointed with the food, but I don't usually complain to management.
Food was excellent. Highly recommend the Shoo Mercy Omelet. Service was very poor and we are hesitant to go back to this location in spite of the great food.
As always a great meal!
Thanks! Business dinner with travelers. Love to take them for great southern cuisine.
Food was incredible and great service!
Terrible lighting and no ambiance, felt like we we’re in a cheap diner! I have eaten at other TH locations, and the renovations to this location don’t improve it at all! Change the lighting it would make a huge difference!
We had 3 different meals and 2 different shared appetizers: avocado egg salad sandwich with collard greens, fried boneless breast, 1/2 fried sriracha chicken, chicken cheese with tortillas dip, fried jalapeño cauliflower bites. All the food was excellent, would go back simply to have the cauliflower and jalapeño bites alone. Service was fantastic! Didn’t have to hunt down our waiter. Highly recommend this place for all meals. Can’t wait to try more of the menu in the future. It is 75 miles from my home so while I will stop when in the area, I will likely only make a special trip just to come here to eat a couple times a year.
We took our friends from out of town to Tupelo Honey to get the Asheville feel. We were kind embarrassed to do that in retrospect. Both me and my friend’s Cobb salad was not the best. The ranch had so much garlic in it. It was pretty boring. I wanted to order something else but there was no avocados, which I understand. Although the fried dishes came out good. Nice generous portion of fruit for my daughter’s side. The wait on our food was 30+ minutes. It didn’t seem busy. The server was nice very and friendly.
After coming to Tupelo Honey through out the years, it doesn’t feel like a hometown, innovated restaurant like it was before. It feels like a chain restaurant like Applebee’s.
First time here but won’t be last!! Food is amazing and service was very good! Very nice atmosphere! Will be back soon!
Brunch was very busy. We had a reservation, but many others weren't so lucky. There were many open tables and I assume those were for people that made reservations, but didnt show? We love Tupelo Honey and have never had a bad experience at any location we have ever visited. Today was a little different. The hostesses were AMAZING! They were polite, smiling, etc. even though they were slammed and being verbally abused by frustrated waiting guests. We got to our table and our waitress had clearly had a bad morning. She acted as if we were bothering her by being in her presence. I mean if you're working for tips, you think you'd pretend to be a little happy. We ate our food with empty beverage glasses and thank goodness we didnt want anything else because we weren't asked. I understand they were busy. I get it. That's why we looked past the fact that it took 15 minutes to even get our drinks. Other wait staff weren't treating their guests this way, I guess we were just the lucky winners of a person who was not happy.
This was our first time at Tupelo Homey. We were in town visiting with friends and had Sunday brunch. Make sure you make a reservation as the place is very busy. We had a 1045am reservation and got there around 1030. We were sat early which was nice. Our waiter was very nice and made sure our drinks were never empty. The food was delicious! Fairly priced. The ambiance was very nice, felt like home. A little noisy due to the amount of people
There but I didn’t mind. We plan on going back again next time we are in town
Loved the menu! My gran daughter had blueberry French toast and she loved it! All the food was very good!
Tupelo Honey did not disappoint! We went for brunch and the food was wonderful: eggs Benedict, goat cheese grits, sweet potato pancakes all outstanding!! We can't wait to visit again.
Was hoping for a better meal. Had the dark meat fried chicken, crispy, but way overcooked. Would not go back.
First time we ate at one if these restaurants. Waitress was very helpful in recommendations. Party of 4 and each liked their dish.
I made a reservation through the open table app to arrive at 12:45, we arrived at 12:32. I checked in and was told the table wasn't ready. We did not get seated until 1:10pm.
We were seated by a anxious looking waitress who took out drink order( hot tea and coffee) she brought our drinks but no silverware. No biscuits and honey.
Ok... It took forever to receive our food and with no drink refills. Finally I asked for a kettle of coffee to avoid the delays.
Terrible wait and service for a birthday brunch but the food was good.
Great food, excellent service!
Visiting from out of town. Upon arrival, was told they were running behind and it would be a minute. That minute turned into about 15. Have been to downtown Asheville location and the one in Charlotte and overall enjoyed food and experience at those locations better.
Food was fantastic. Was perfect for a girls night out. A few of the apps were unavailable, which was disappointing, but everything we did get was delicious.
With a 7:30 pm reservation... they were out of quite a bit of the selections for appetizers and the food was slow to come out. Thank goodness the cocktails were good and our waitress was sweet. We were given a free dessert for our troubles....
we always pass by one of the tupelo restaurant whenever we visit asheville. I like the south asheville location because it is larger and allows you to make a reservation. I love their trout dish. I always take it. And their biscuits are the best. My daughter took the fried chicken breast and loved it. great food
Food is always good. Service very good and attentive. Busy place with a line almost all night. Luckily reservations enable us to sit down at the specified time. Great place to catch up with long time friends.
The food and drinks were all amazing! Cannot wait to come back someday.
Restaurant was full, glad we made reservations. Our server & the kitchen was very helpful at accommodating our order that had to be rushed due to car issues so we wouldn't miss our concert. The price was reasonable, food was very tasty (grits and brussel sprouts yum!). The only draw back was noise level made it a little hard for conversation. But really overall it was wonderful.
The food was delicious and the service was fantastic! We’ll be back, for sure!
Made a reservation for 5, they stuffed us in a 4 top booth with a chair on the end. Tacky. Good okay, definitely a chain experience
