Great food at good price, polite and attentive service.
Wait staff was good. We got apps and sides. Goat cheese Grits were amazing.
Fried Brussels were probably old. They were strong tasting.
You were Out of deviled eggs.
So the ambiance was a disappointment compared to experience at Asheville downtown and Greenville stores.
It was fine not great.
The biscuit would qualify as dessert with that blueberry compote. My salad was as pretty as it was delicious
Love visiting tupelo honey every year. Server and kitchen made my night by making me something on the brunch menu even though it was dinner. Love the Southern shakshuka!!!!
Everything was great! Our server, Courtney, was fantastic!!
A very nice setting. The food was okay, but a bit pricey for a quarter chicken with no sides. The mashed Yukon potatoes were chunky not creamy as expected. The chicken was heavily peppered which did not (my opinion) go well with the sweet honey (tea) glaze. With two sides, $18.50 is a little too pricey for a quarter chicken. I can pick up a whole chicken at Harris Teeter for $4.99 on Sunday. I know it's challenging to be in the restaurant business, but the price to value was just not there for me.
Tupelo Honey is a favorite while in Asheville.
Everything was great except that I wished we’d reserved a table outdoors because the volume of people talking was too loud inside. Next time I’ll reserve a table outside. Our server was excellent as was the food.
Overall, food, service etc. were very good. Only issue was with regular and chorizo sausage on 2 brunch plates - both were charred/burnt on outside, making the inside extremely dry and hard to chew.
I have visited multiple Tupelo Honey locations, in multiple cities, and have always enjoyed the experience. Other restaurant locations never felt like a chain restaurant, but this location had horrible service, mediocre food, and it felt exactly like the type of restaurant that would be in a strip mall, which is where it is located. The staff was not attentive, the food was barely warm, and the signature Queen Bloody Mary that I look forward to, every time I visit a Tupelo Honey, was one of the worst Bloody Marys I have ever had. My experience at the restaurant was so bad, I don’t know that I will ever go to another Tupelo Honey. We spent more than $100 for three people to have Sunday brunch… we would’ve had better customer service and a much better meal if we had gone to a Waffle House instead.
Nice outside. Lots of dogs as we were leaving. Just wish the ferns were real!! Outside noise much better than inside with new remodel.
Delicious brunch. Had the harvest bowl and blueberry pancakes. The fried green tomatoes on goat cheese grits were out of this world. Cool to check out in South Asheville.
Fantastic! Great food, great service...!
We LOVE Tupelo Honey Cafe and come here every time we visit Asheville. The staff are so friendly, always ready to recommend a dish or two. The newly renovated outside patio is beautiful and so kid friendly. Highly recommend!
We ate outside with our dog and it was great! They even have a god menu!! Super pet friendly and food always delicious!
Went on National Fried Chicken Day. The Fried chicken was delicious. Fried Green tomatoes some of the best ever! WARNING- the biscuits at the beginning are so yummy! Don't get too full on them!
My favorite place when we visit. Murray, our waiter was helpful and unobtrusive. Food was wonderful as always. It was a little too noisy for my preference but it was midday Saturday.
Worst experience ever! TWO HOURS waiting for food and then a different, very unprofessional and condescending waiter came out to tell us that they ran out of green beans !
We’ve been very patient and understanding with the initial waitress and also Valerie, the “manager”, but this waiter ruined it entirely. These people are totally overwhelmed and so is obviously the kitchen, incapable to handle any stress situation. The waiter insulted me and my family, clearly he’s untrained not knowing the core basics of customer service. My wife and kids refuse to go back there after we’ve been regular customers for years! I sincerely hope that John Bennett and other management executives will read this post and act! I’ll not let this go and will contact the executive offices after this weekend.
Excellent service and food!
Excellent menu and fun for a date or group get-together. We were a party of four and each got something different, everyone loved their meals. We shared the chicken dip and fried pickles as appetizers, highly recommend.
Had a great meal, waitress was excellent,
but they forgot to seat us. Took a little long to be served but food was awesome.
The food was amazing, but I was surprised that the portions sizes were so small, mainly the side items. I think my husband had about 10 green beans on his plate. They were out of the amazing potatoes that we love so I "settled" for the mac and cheese which was great but such a small portion. We are not over indulgent eaters and not looking for ridiculously large portions, but do expect a good value. Overall the service and surroundings were great!
We went 7/5 for our anniversary. We were supposed to go to the Biltmore Dining room for our anniversary but last minute decided to ditch it (Biltmore was just too crowded and putting our family in a BAD mood!) But Tupelo Honey Cafe really turned things around for us.
We sat in the patio area which is covered but still has a nice breeze. There is even a kids play area. Although, I almost wish they would remove that area. It was very annoying hearing the kids play so loudly when we are trying to have a romantic evening.
After talking to our super sweet waitress (we believe her name is Jamie) we found out this location is dog friendly. They even have a dog menu where items are $5 each. So naturally we got the chicken and rice to go for our pup Thor!
The food was also fantastic. For a family of 3 it was about $55. (We saved so much though compared to our original dining reservations at the Biltmore dining room - and I had so much food left that I made it two meals!). Also, Thor loved his dinner!
And to top it off, Jamie found out it was our 5 year wedding anniversary. Tupelo actually gifted us their cookbook. What an amazing surprise! And it is a perfect Asheville souvenir for us to take back home to Cincinnati.
If you want a family/dog friendly atmosphere, great service, great food at an affordable price, then come here!!!
Too busy and crowded. Good food when it finally came but on this Friday after a holiday they had more service than they could keep up with.
The food was good, service was prompt and ambiance was ok.
I've have dined at Tupelo Honey for more than a decade, and really love the south Asheville location because of ease of parking and the food.
First, I was a little shocked by the drastic change in the interior. The remodel while nice and bright, was a bit tropical and not what I was expecting. I would say almost too bright and white.
Second, I ordered the Fried Chicken with two sides. I will have to say it was very small compared to what I have gotten on the Chicken BLT. Almost looked like half a breast or thigh, very small. At the same time, it was barely battered and a little dry. Seriously, I always order Fried Chicken and this was a first.
Third, Everything from the starter to the salad I got with my meal came out at the same time. A little bit of a pain to eat all at once.
I told my wife later I really walked away disappointed with Tupelo Honey.
P.S. don't use so much soap in the mop bucket or someone will slip and fall, the floor was very slick even in tennis shoes.
I ordered the farm fresh burger and maple roasted vegetables. It was a long wait and the restaurant was not crowded. My tomatoes and lettuce were dried out looking, my hamburger was hard on the ends and over cooked. My maples roasted vegetables were luke warm and my coke was flat. The restaurant has approved in appearance and decor. The waiter tried but I think he kind of knew that my meal was not right. My plate looked empty given the small portion of vegetables and I paid extra for them.
Tupelo Honey never disappoints! Our party of 8 was very happy with the service and our lunch selections. Thank you!
Food was awesome!! 20 minutes after we ordered they came back to tell us they were out of all chicken breasts. We went to try that plate. All food was great just slightly disappointing.
Our lunch took over an hour. We were told 10 minutes after ordering that the deep fryer was down and it would be another 18 minutes. Besides that the entire process was abnormally slow. Our biscuits came with 1 small cup of jam for 7 people. We had to ask for everything
Excellent. I like the authenticity and ruggedness of the other location, but this place was GREAT and quiet, which is more important to me these days. Lovely for a "new strip mall" scene.
Food and waiter were excellent! Great combos and options. LOVE LOVE
Great outdoor seating! Good service and food is always good.
The room was very noisy, the food was too sweetened, and the waitress or others kept checking on us asking how the food was "tasting". First of all, food is not animate therefore it cannot taste. Secondly, servers should not keep interrupting conversations but should discretely observe from the background, able to be beckoned if needed!
Very good meal. I had the meat loaf with fresh green beans and root vegetables. Very tasty. My companion had the buttermilk fried chicken and collard greens and reported those both to be very good as well. Half price on bottles in our visit and limited selection of $6 pours. Good service, nice outdoor dining area.
I stopped for a quick meal and ordered ribs. The barbecue sauce tasted real good, but the ribs were tough. They had a lovely atmosphere, and a beautiful place to sit outside and eat your meal.
Not one of my favorite places now, but I’m willing to try again.
Food was great but service was poor. Had to ask for salt and pepper and water refills. Waitress was just not attentive to table. It was not busy when we got there.
Way overpriced for slop on a plate. And no coffee to boot!
Beautiful remodel! Pleasant hostess. Great menu selection. Something for everyone. We liked the build your own breakfast option. Server was somewhat abrupt and not really friendly. After several encounters we got her to smile and tune in.
We’ve always loved the sweet potato pancake and were happy to see it in the pick 4 options. Disappointed when they arrived cold with bits of grill char pieces attached to them. Sadly, the rosemary potatoes were cold and mostly left over bits , not really a presentable serving. Eggs and sausage were good. Biscuits and berry compote were the star. We were hungry and didn’t feel free enough to tell our server that a couple of items were cold.
It appeared that several servers were really stressed out with the brunch crowd.
We’ve been been patrons of Tupelo Honey since 2004, it has changed so much over the years, some good some not so much.
We were visiting Asheville from Denver and visited here, have not been to the one in Denver yet. Food was great, especially the fried green tomatoes. Service was great and the Manager on duty (Female was awesome).
Took one hour to get our food after sitting down.
