Service was ok but the food was very bland. Definitely not what I expected
Our dinner last night for 4 was disappointing and I want to be sure that all that visit in the future are aware of this before they spend their money. It was Saturday night at 7pm and the restaurant was only 50% occupied so that should have given us an indication of the status of the food but due to Covid we give everyone a wide berth for error.
We ordered the house special - biscuits which used to be complimentary and are now $4.00 for 2 as they say that is for charity. They were cold and hard and we left them uneaten. We then had Honey Dusted Fried Chicken and it was the smallest chicken pieces with very small amounts of meat on the bones. The sides which they charge $4.25 per side if separately purchased were tiny portions and mediocre in taste.
We stopped going several years ago after their food fell short on several occasions but we tried it again a few months ago as we try to support restaurants during this hard time and it was wonderful just as it had been when it first opened in Raleigh.
I would say they are going to have a hard stretch of things if they are depending on customers retuning to dine to give them the income to get their food better, so for those dining out, dine in many of the tried and true restaurants in town when spending your money.
FYI - our server was Cadence and she was fantastic! For that reason, we allowed all of this to slide by without a complaint but I don't want others to have the same regret that we did.
Last time we came the food was very average and the service was not good. Sooo much better this time!
Service was excellent as always!!!
My first time in the Raleigh restaurant (previous experience with Asheville’s) went very well. They easily accommodated my “no cilantro” request and the food was very good. The only reason for 4 stars was the entree was served blazing hot while the sides were barely warm. No problem waiting for the pork to cool down but wished the Brussels and potatoes had been a bit warmer. All still tasty though.
The food was kinda good. A little salty and the Mac and cheese was nothing to write home about. The greens were good (if you like vinegar, I do!) The waiter got our drinks mixed up and one had a fruit fly....set your traps guys. It is definitely a Cafe and less of a restaurant because the tables were somewhat small. Overall good, would not visit again if I came back...not bad just now wow.
This was my first visit at this place and I really enjoyed my visit. My only complaint is that I got meatloaf and I wanted mashed potatoes to go with it. The server said that they no longer carried mashed potatoes. I think that would go well with meatloaf and I think that is something you all need to bring back. Keep up the good work. I will defiantly be back again soon.
Great service, delicious food & no wait. Wonderful experience.
Took my mom for lunch for her birthday and it was delicious. Restaurant was quiet around 2pm and service was timely!
Waitress was not the best but overall it was good
Great dishes. Avacodo toast is off the menu as an Appetizer! Other then that always a great brunch spot! Great reservations they always save your spot. Parking is a bit hard to find at times
Loved the service! Loved the food! Great brunch spot 10/10 would go again
Just like everyone else they are short wait staffed. Our waitress did great and the best she could but she was stretched thin and left us hanging a couple times. One plate was a little salty.
The classic chicken and waffles were bland and tasted like the used Karen’s recipe and not G Ma’s. Not a hint of flavor or even salt but the biscuits were ok and the service was amazing!! But I would have to be tricked into eating there again under my own free will.
Wonderful restaurant, enjoyed the food and the service.
This was our first time here and we loved it. The food was great and the atmosphere is nice. Our waitress seemed tired, she wasn't unfriendly, but didn't go out of her way. She didn't offer us dessert to start off with, I was a little disappointed there were only two choices, but the banana pudding was outstanding. We will def be back though.
So much variety and tasty! Mimosas are delicious and generous
Food was delicious, our server (Chloe) was quick, communicative, and friendly.
Cocktails were delicious, everything we ate was delicious. We got avocado points, spicy fried cauliflower, sriracha chicken and waffle, and the shrimp po’boy with sweet potato casserole on the side. EVERYTHING was delicious
Great food, knowledgable server, lovely ambiance
Excellent menu, food, service, and beverages. I will definitely return
We had brunch reservations and were seated promptly. The fried green tomatoes over grits and goat cheese were the best I’ve ever tasted. The biscuits were amazing. I had chicken and waffles. The fried chicken was slightly over cooked. Overall loved the restaurant and will try it again.
Friendly staff, outstanding food and the best drinks! Parking is awful, call ahead to see if valet is available that day.
The atmosphere and views of the city were fabulous!
This restaurant is amazing. The food, the service the friendliness of all the staff makes it an exceptional dining experience.
The service was excellent and the food incredible. Why a beautiful night to sit outside and have a wonderful experience from start to finish
Food was great. Our service was great. Love the menu options right now
the server seem uninterested in serving us. We were not informed that the lunch special was not available until we all ordered. Had to ask 3 times for a child's menu.
Overall good experience. Biscuits took forever but we enjoyed them at home. Got one of their bowls, the harvest I believe. Good stuff if you like veggies!
Usually love this place, but the food was not good this time. I’m not sure if there was a new chef or whether it was getting towards the end of the night and they just didn’t care at that point. Pickles were good…
Delicious food and great service for brunch! Biscuit with chicken and gravy was incredible and so were the potatoes.
I loved the food, the drinks, the manager and our waitress. However I didn't get my hip top table that I requested and it was available at the time. But overall I enjoyed myself and will definitely be back.
Food was good
Server seemed to be bothered by us. It was uncomfortable to ask her for anything. I may not return because of the service or lack of service.
Not worth the money in my opinion. Chicken is the main staple on the menu....it was dry and expensive.
Great food and good service. Their hours have shortened so they do close earlier than before.
Great food! Food was quick to table. We were seated a little before our reservation time.
Server who also works at bar was outstanding! (Female, brown hair, can’t remember her name. She was great! )
Wonderful food but staff was not friendly. Went for my birthday and would pick somewhere else to celebrate a special occasion.
Great food and quick service
