A great restaurant for amazing southern cuisine and drinks. The fried chicken was by far the best I have ever had, I highly recommend it. The house rye ale was also incredibly good.
Our meal was very good! We were seated outside on the patio. The only downside was a bunch of bees were flying around our table at the end, which was not very pleasant.
Very nice dinner - enjoyed the outdoor seating. Was disappointed the meatloaf wasn’t available but had the amazing shrimp and grits instead. Highly recommend - they did a great job with the Covid measures
The service was great as was the food and for a very good price point. Very happy we made reservations! Would definitely go back!
Everything we tried was delicious from the pork and meatloaf to the salt and pepper brussels, potatoes, and collards.
Stopped here on our way back to Florida, gets pretty busy so had to take the 4pm dinner slot. Sat at the bar and Sarah was great! Had fried green tomatoes-nice touch with the grits, honey dusted chicken was moist (got the white meat), and the Mac n cheese was fantastic! I highly recommend if you are into southern comfort food!
The food was average, cold, and overpriced
Thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The biscuits were amazing
Fantastic food selection and quality along with great service. This restaurant will be added to our list of regular Asheville stops.
The sweet & spicy fried chicken was extraordinary. I added baked Mac $ cheese for a truly southern experience and tried the Wildflower Mule which was so light and refreshing. My reservation for 1 was at the bar and the 2 female bartenders that served me were so friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The hostesses were also very kind too, especially when I rushed in a few min late due to a blocked road. The ambience, cleanliness and incredible food was unforgettable and something I will try to repeat as soon as possible!
Tori was amazing!
This was our second time dining here and it was just as good as the first time. Every single item we ordered was outstanding.
Always reliable and fun. The food is delicious. Cheers!
Food and service were good. We sat outside and the nearby construction noise was very unpleasant.
Walking up would have been faster than reservations.
They hold more tables for walk-in than reservations.
At 8:30 the only reservation available was 12:30. No one after 10:30 waited more than 45 minutes .
815 reservation, seated at 830. had to wait outside. then seated outside and it was uncomfortably cool out, we werent prepared for outdoor seating. we had reserved "bar seating" Jessica, the waitress was friendly. the biscuits were dry, the butter was too cold to spread. the brussel sprouts were burnt and the fried okra was old where the breading had hardened and tasted stale. Jessica offered to replace them but I lost my confidence in their skills. The pork shoulder was ok. My husband had fried chicken with gravy, with mashed potatoes and green beans. The gravy was not even warm. The green beans were parcooked. Nothing here was worth the price. Coffee and sodas were never refilled or offered to be refilled. Declined dessert b/c I didnt want to be more disappointed.
We sat at the bar and service was excellent! Our cauliflower appetizer was delicious and spicy as promised. We both had the shrimp and grits. Wow, best we ever had!!
Tupelo Honey was recommended to us and our dinner exceeded our expectations. Best friend chicken ever and the banana pudding was off the charts. Great food, great value and our waitress was warm, friendly and efficient!
Social distancing in the restaurant was not very well done at all. But the food and service were great! If it weren’t in the middle of a pandemic I would definitely return.
Food was good, so was service! We all enjoyed everything.
Great meal while visiting Asheville
Tupelo Honey lived up to the hype! So glad we made reservations! It was fun & delish!!
This is my very first review of anything publicly. My husband and two teenagers went for breakfast on a Tuesday around 11:00 a.m. It was our first time at the establishment. We used OpenTable to reserve in advance (otherwise it's often a 1-2 hour wait). My order was received and was incorrect. No big deal. Waited and waited and waited for server to reappear, but she did not. Approached who appeared to be a manager overseeing the food coming out of the kitchen, and he was clearly irritated at me for bothering him. When I stated my order was incorrect, he snidely remarked that I ordered the french toast plain. I did not and tried to tell him so. He proceeded to show irritation with huffing and puffing, and when the food was returned, it was without butter or powdered sugar, which was asked for again, and those were delivered with another negative comment or sound (I don't remember other than it wasn't nice). When food returned, the french toast was cold; not lukewarm, not cool - cold. I was in no way going to re-approach anyone. On top of it, I do believe the french toast was $15. It was two slices of thin bread, not the thick brioche you'd expect. My husband's omelet was "fair" in his opinion, and both teenagers had fries and fried chicken, which they said was good. $64 not including tip.
The food is AMAZING! The menu is extensive and there is something for everyone. Be ready to eat, the portions are good! Only negative is that we were brought 2 tea cups that were dirty. Our waiter did not apologize or seem concerned, he just replaced them. I would still highly recommend this place, it so worth it!
Overall a great experience all around. Little pricey but for downtown you have to expect that
We got the brussel sprouts appetizer, and I loved the shrimp and grits!!
Outstanding! Did not disappoint! Exactly what I thought it would be!
We went for brunch and we had a reservation and were seated immediately. We sat for about 10 minutes before the waitress came to get our drink and food order. We ended up receiving our entree before we got our iced teas and we did not receive our appetizer until we reminded the waitress. The food was not up to par as it usually is at this establishment (we love Tupelo Honey, and have eaten there around 5 times and have always had a pleasant experience). We would still try this restaurant again but we were unimpressed of our latest experience.
Set up a reservation online during peak brunch time just 30 minutes before the reservation time. Was seated within 10 minutes of arriving 15 minutes early and was greeted with amazing service! Oh and the food was absolutely amazing. Couldn't have been better! Tupelo Honey is a little on the expensive side but is a treat well worth it.
And the location in Downtown Asheville is a great spot. Right in the middle of the hustle and bustle if you're into that sort of thing!
Great experience.. we made a reservation ahead of time as we went on a Sunday morning. It was mostly booked but was able to get seats at the bar. When we arrived our seats were waiting for us! Brunch was wonderful! Eggs Benedict with avocado & fried green tomatoes was fantastic, great home fries, crisp & yummy too! We thoroughly joyed our visit there but would recommend making a reservation to avoid long lines getting in!
Food was phenomenal and our waitress made wonderful food recommendations. Must try the sweet potato pancakes! They were delicious!
Highly recommend Tupelo Honey! I’ve been to several of the locations and they’re all fantastic! Management is doing a great job of maintaining consistency and quality.
Even though we had a reservation for an indoor table, they placed us outdoors in the windy 50 degree weather and would not sit us inside and insisted I made an outdoor reservation even after I showed them that I did not.
This is definitely a tourist restaurants with mediocre food and poor service. I’ve been to Tupelo Honey in another city and it was the same thing. I would recommend trying out another restaurant in Asheville because you can get some amazing food and not feel like another tourist.
Our group ate there for lunch - reservations are needed.
Waffles/fried chicken, shrimp and grits and chicken sandwich meals were delicious. Bloody Marys were on point! Service excellent. Would dine there again.
Great atmosphere, food and drinks
We sat at the bar and took the recommendations from the bartenders - everything was amazing! This was our favorite restaurant on the trip.
Sat outside in temporary seating. Had the chicken and some sides. Food was cold when arrived. Server was no where to be found to fix the issue. Ended up with gastrointestinal issues about 4 hours after eating here. Wouldn't suggest, and seems over-hyped.
Overall, experience was good. Just very disappointed with making a reservation and having to wait an additional 30 minutes because the table before us was in no hurry and nothing could be said to them. Perhaps do a better job preparing for this with those who place reservations.
We had reservations for a party of five for an early Friday night dinner. Tupelo was booming. It was nearly too loud to have a conversation. The food was good, at least what was ordered and served timely. Our server failed to order the fifth meal, but blamed the error on the kitchen staff despite us watching him enter the order after bringing it to his attention. Double check your bills because he split the checks incorrectly. Honestly, the food was tasty, but support a mom and pop business with better service.
