Tupelo Honey - Downtown Asheville

Went with a reservation, we received a text 2 minutes after our 5.30pm seating time. The food was amazing...literally everything.

Every time we coming to Asheville, I stop at Tupelo Honey, their food is so good, so tasty, and they really put a southern style on it. Service was great, place was clean, we had an awesome time and can’t wait to go back. Michelle

Make reservations! This is a must stop for any visit to Asheville. We went for brunch and everything was great. My wife even love the Hibiscus Tea spritzer. The sweet and Spivey chicken and biscuit was incredible. Definitely order some biscuits on the side. They come with blueberry butter spread!

So good! Best brunch I’ve had in a long time!! Delicious cocktails and the best biscuits/ grits! You won’t regret going to brunch there...it’s worth the wait!

Tupelo was a great chose at breakfast for my family of 5. The kids had banana pudding waffles and my wife and I both had the breakfast bowl. The Old Skool breakfast bowl was one of the best meals we have had in a while! I would highly recommend it. The kids loved their waffles as well. Over all an excellent experience.

Overall enjoyed the experience after being sat. However, our reservation was cancelled after we were 5 minutes late by the hostess despite a 10 minute grace period. We then had to wait 30 minutes for a table. The hostess did not offer any resolution. If we were truly outside the grace period, I would have been wholly understanding.

I had the shrimp and grits drizzled with the siracha sauce. Wonderful!!! Great fried chicken. My son loved the biscuit.

It really wasn’t worth the time or money. The tables around us (also tables of 4) arrived after us and got their food before us. We seemed to have an “Ignore us” sign on our foreheads. The food was good, but I got their “famous” fried chicken and it was okay. Pretty much like any other chicken I’ve had. We left disappointed and probably won’t return.

First time being in Asheville and heard so many great things about Tupelo. Food was delicious and service was great. Restaurant took all the Covid precautions so felt safe eating indoors.

Food was perfect- fried chicken was super, had the Brussels sprout app- spot on- gotta do the banana pudding!

The food was absolutely amazing! I was truly surprised at the quality given the affordability. We were on vacation in North Carolina, but will definitely be back through just to hit this spot again. (Get the cast iron pork seared in duck fat...I have no words except “You won’t regret it!”)

We loved Tupelo Honey! We ate on the enclosed patio which only had 3 tables so very quiet. Our waiter was fantastic and helped us choose the right lunch options as i am lactose intolerant. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and highly recommend it!

Great dining experience. Service and food top notch. We had the avocados toast - huge portion and delicious. The fried chicken was outstanding. The grits were the best I’ve ever had (and I’m from the south). Also - the sweet potato pancakes were really good. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

We really enjoyed our evening at Tupelo Honey. We made reservations for bar seating and I was a little worried about how that would be....but it was GREAT! The seating was well spaced. The servers were great. And the food was well prepared and tasty. Thanks!

Our first experience in south Avl was poor. Poor value, poor service and less than stellar food. Gave this downtown location a chance because locals rave and was very pleased this time.

Best pork shoulder, grits, and fried green tomatoes I’ve ever had!!! Food was incredible, cocktails were excellent, and the staff was wonderful and welcoming! Will definitely visit again when we are in Asheville!

This is our second trip to Ashville and Tupelo Honey has already become a highlight of each of our visits. What a greta place to eat!

Favorite place in Asheville!

Ridiculously great food, especially if you love indulgent southern deliciousness. Highly recommend! Be sure to make reservations - wait times for walk-ins are no joke. Sweet potato pancakes, fried chicken, goat cheese grits and potato cracklins made for my best meal in Asheville birthday weekend. Bravo!

This place is a well oiled machine. That can be a good thing, but sometimes its a bad thing. I this case, I think service was simply too fast. We ordered an appetizer and then it was there so fast, I didn't even know our table had ordered something yet. We were asked for drink orders and I hadn't even had a chance to look at the list, so I just said to bring me a local IPA. I get a tiny 10oz juice cup of beer. So, I decided to look it up in the beer list and it was $7 for a 10oz pour of a 5.8% beer. Usually a small glass is saved for strong beers; this just seemed silly. We ordered and food arrived in five minutes. Chicken was kind of dry and not all that interesting for being the start of the show. I had the shrimp and grits which were so,so and I already had a sneak peek of what it was going to be since the grits were also a part of the fried green tomato app we had. Maybe I expected too much since we heard good things from friends, but I would much prefer to try something truly an original local spot next time.

Dinner was excellent! I’m not a grits person but their grits are amazing! I can’t wait to go back.

Visiting from Pennsylvania and almost every person I spoke to about our trip, said we had to try Tupelo Honey! So glad we were able to get in for a reservation. The restaurant was adorable, service was great, and every appetizer/meal we ordered was fantastic. Highly recommend!
