Great experience! We arrived on time and while they were finishing up cleaning our table they casually recommended we pop in a gift shop while we waited and offered to text me when our table was ready, which they did.
The meal was divine. No one was disappointed. My chicken was the juiciest and most flavorful chicken I’ve had in a while. The okra appetizer was like grandma would make. Crispy, just enough corneal and salt too.
On another visit I will surely dig into the gorgeous cocktail offerings. So happy to be able to take home a coveted bottle of pure Tupelo honey and house made blueberry compote. Will definitely dine there every time I visit Asheville!!
Very adventurous cocktail in the Mountain smoke. Had egg and avocado smash sandwich and it was excellent. The siracha pulls it all together. Have to fried okra. It is yummy!
My husband and I enjoyed our lunch date at Tupelo Honey! The employees offered excellent service, they were friendly and cheerful during a lunch rush. Our server was attentive and made excellent recommendations. Our food was piping hot and fresh, packed full of flavor. We will definitely be back!
One of the best meals I’ve ever had! Had the pimento cheese and ham grilled cheese sandwich with vegetables and Brussel sprouts for an app. No better food in Asheville!!!
Delicious food with a fresh atmosphere. Perfect place for breakfast in Asheville.
Most of the food was very good. One person said that their shrimp and grits was very fishy—tasting. This was brought up to the server and not much was mentioned about doing something about it. This was disappointing because our friend was from out of state and she left without a good impression. Other than that, the service and food was very good.
The service was very friendly! The food was absolutely amazing and beautifully presented.
Great food, friendly service, welcoming atmosphere. Check it out!
Our experience was fantastic. My son was eager to go back while we're in town but everyone loves it so we couldn't get a reservation. Just happy we got to enjoy! Our waiter Justin was top drawer! Thank you Justin.
From the service to the food, everything was amazing.. the biscuits are delicious! The chicken avocado sandwich is one of the best I have ever had.. and their goat cheese grits are a must. Our server was very good with a wonderful personality and great sense of humor. If I am in the ASHEVILLE area again, I would definitely come back to eat here!
A fav in Asheville
Crowded and noisy. Food tasty but not memorable. No close parking and our party was handicapped.
Best Shrimp and Grits! A true farm to table experience.
Food and beverage were great. We were treated like royalty for our 40th wedding anniversary!!!
You've got to take this place for what it is. Everyone wants to eat here. The line is long open to close and you hear about their sweet potato pancakes and fried chicken everywhere you go.
The reality of the place is a bit different. They had no record of our reservation (OpenTable does not populate on their system, apparently) so we were placed on a wait. It was only about ten minutes and luckily it was a nice day outside, so that wasn't a dealbreaker (there is no room to wait indoors- the bar is always packed).
Service was attentive and pleasant, and we were greeted with delicious biscuits, blueberry compote, and honey. I ordered the sweet potato pancakes with the fried chicken and everything arrived in a timely manner, especially considering how busy they are. The chicken was stringy and dry, the breading was tough, the pancakes were skinny and flat- the flavor was good, but the textures left much to be desired. My partner ordered a sandwich and was similarly underwhelmed. It was good.... but with all the hype, we expected at least one thing that we ordered to be GREAT. Sadly, this was not the case.
We will try again someday if our reservation is honored and it's not too much of a hassle- but in a super foodie town like Asheville, where there's something amazing at every corner, don't feel bad if you skip this one out. You'll live.
One of our favorite places to visit when in the area!
Our server, Daryl, did a great job. The restaurant was really busy, as it was peak brunch, but he was attentive, friendly, engaging, and had a great attitude!
Wonderful food! Sweet potato pancakes with fried chicken and Eggs Benny were fantastic. It is a very noisy busy restaurant. Service was great.
Very impressed with server. She understood her menu and gave recommendations and feedback when requested. Food was great. I will go back and recommend to others.
The food was tasty and fresh. Service was prompt and professional. Restaurant decor and overall ambiance was great.
Even though Asheville was under a “ boil water” alert, the restaurant stayed opened and outsourced beverages! Our waitress was the best! She spoiled us! Love the baby changing table. So clean & safe. Great experience for all eight of us!
Great food and great service. It was crowded when we went but we were seated nearly immediately because of our reservation.
The food and drinks were great. Daryl provided great service that made our visit memorable.
Family meal, everything was perfect. Only thing I have to add is that the hostess wanted us to go wait at a different bar while we waited 10 minutes on our table. Doesn’t make sense but we went and sat at the bar anyways and were welcomed with open arms with by the male bartender. My mom loved the conversation with him!! Our waitress was perfect and the food couldn’t have been any better. We will return.
Always great food!
Table ready when we arrived. Food was delicious! Best ribs I have had in a long time, and the fried chicken was wonderful. Fun place in middle of downtown.
Entrees were fairly bland and tasteless, despite being fairly expensive. Free biscuits to start were good. Service and decor were nice.
Great atmosphere, wonderful food and service. HIGHLY recommend a reservation if going on a weekend night and allow plenty of time for parking. Food was out quickly and was excellent in quality. True comfort food!
Great food, service and vibe! Try the fried chicken and pecan pie.
We had a party of 12 but had no problem getting in with our reservation. Food was excellent and enjoyed everything about our dining experience!
Not your usual menu. Fresh, hot food at great prices.
Fun place, yummy food
Meh way overhyped. Service was terrible. They up charge you for maple syrup without 1) telling you there’s any other option 2)explaining it will cost extra to add syrup. “Do you want maple syrup with your pancakes?” Uh yeah I want syrup with my pancakes. Who does not? Sketchy. Makes me wonder what other things goes on to cut corners behind the scenes.
Another similar complaint — Menu says you can order sweet potato short stack add on for $3+ but they charged us $5 as the kids meal. I’m not a kid. Just wanted to add the pancakes per the menu. Dunno why this happened.
Food was ok but left shaking our heads after being nickel and dimed over average breakfast options. Eggs weren’t even cooked long enough — raw runny whites on fried eggs are nasty. I’ll pass on this place in the future despite all the hype. I feel cheated.
I do not recommend when there are much more consistent and tastier options in downtown Asheville — not to mention ones that don’t try to rip you off a few bucks when they’re already on the pricy side. Disappointing.
And wonderful food great service and a wonderful atmosphere
The waiter was very good and checked in many times to see how we were. The entrees were priced ok, but the drinks were outrageously expensive. $5 for tea, and $15 drinks. That is a bit ridiculous! I live in Seattle and our drinks are nowhere near that expensive.
We love this place, we actually live in Jacksonville, Fl. Every time we visit Asheville, we always make the time to come here! We even bought their cook book.
Their famous biscuits recipe is crazy good!
Food is always fresh & delicious! Service was outstanding.
Keep up the good work!
We ate at Tupelo Honey for brunch, and it was hands down one of the best meals we’ve had in a while! Great service and atmosphere too!
The fried green tomatoes were superb! And so were the goat-cheese grits that accompany them! The coffee could be a little stronger and hotter; it must sit too long in the metal carafes they use. The biscuits were great, especially with the tupelo honey.
Sunday brunch. Made 10:00 reservation, seated immediately upon arrival. Friendly hostess and server. Upscale casual environment. Creative menu without being pretentious. Gourmet quality food, fair prices, great service. Would definitely recommend
